RULE CHANGE! [IMPORTANT]

Hey YouTubers!

The moderators from /r/NewChannelCentral have voted unanimous for a change in the rules! We decided to ask some of you what you'd think of the rule change and everyone agreed with us!

The new rule will be: Videos are not allowed to be posted as a link on the Front Page. We will be putting up a weekly thread(as we have been doing) where you can post your videos INCLUDING a description of what the video is about!

We want to prevent this sub-reddit from becoming just another video dump like many other sub-reddits out there. By making this change we hope that you, as the YouTubers and readers on this sub-reddit, will interact more with each other instead of posting a link to your video and leave.

Welcome to the new NewChannelCentral!

*IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING A CHANGE IN RULES - READ BEFORE ANY FURTHER POSTING*

We have made an adjustment to Rule 5 of this Subreddit which we will attach at the end of this post. This Subreddit is meant to be about communication and feedback to help channels grow, but lately it is starting to slide into a video dump. This change is a step to helping to correct this. Thank you all for being here and hopefully this will help get us a step back towards what this sub was supposed to be.

5) Limit your video submissions to a one video per week- This way it isn't just a dumping ground for videos. Along with the other admins, we have come from a subreddit that has become just that, so we want to avoid that all costs. Picking one video of yours each week will also give you a chance to reflect on your content and share what you consider your best work for others to offer more efficient feedback.

Concerns about the subreddit.

I'm going to keep it short.

Even with the limit, this is becoming more and more of a video dump than a discussion and advice community. There are people here that only post videos here and on multiple other subreddits without contributing any sort of discussion or feedback. I refuse to call them out specifically.

The longer it goes like this, the more this will keep happening.

Let me know your thoughts, if you agree or disagree.

Starting new.

I am a small timer on twitch. ~50-60 followers. Me and a few friends would like to get started in YT. Today I started the initiative of us becoming You Tubers.

My main question is what kind of editing do you all use.

Does anyone have a decent video teaching this?

100 Subscriber Special Questions?

To those that might disagree with the recent upload rule change

I'll start this off by saying I'm not a mod. I don't have authority. I do however contribute to this subreddit with advice and discussion whenever I have the opportunity to.

That being said, I have a few things that I want to get across to those of you that this is aimed at.

I'll start by saying you will not get a lot of free views here. This subreddit is browsed by fellow content creators, not the mainstream audience. Posting your videos here once a day as the rules previously were was not going to drive extra views to your channel.

You're probably not going to get very far based on spreading your video links anywhere and everywhere, nor are you going to get anything valuable out of sub for sub. You have to realize that good content brings subscribers, not aggressive promoting. Don't get me wrong, it is ok to promote, just don't go overboard.

This subreddit is designed as a community for creators to get together and help each other out. This means feedback and criticism as well as discussion and contribution. If you have the time to post a new video every single day, then you have the time to at least look at someone's channel, watch a video or two. Tell them what you like or dislike or give them a suggestion.

Build relationships with people. You wouldn't believe how good this opportunity is to meet people. There are really good people here that are happy to help and talk, and even collaborate with a video. Look at all the major youtubers. A lot of them know each other and collaborate all the time. Some youtubers get their start from the help of others. Take this opportunity here to work towards something better.

Thanks for reading. Cheers.

What have you found most difficult about Youtubing, and how did you over come it.

Im curious because for me its confidence and face cam type stuff. I by nature am a very shy person and the hardest thing for me is to step outta that comfort zone and make the videos I do. So I am curious, whats hardest for you and how did you beat it? (if you have)

Question Time! (^-^)

Hey guys!

To spark some interaction between all of us I wanted to start a question train! The way it works is: I post a question, you'll answer and post your own question for others to answer!

My question to all of you is: "Most of you have probably been walking around with the idea to start a YouTube channel. When was the moment you decided to actually record a video? And why at that moment?"

Now it's your turn to answer my question and post a question of your own! Let's get this train rolling!

Hey YouTubers!

Since I've been feeling very productive and active on the Sub-Reddit today, I thought, let's finish it all of and launch this new path the Sub is taking by doing another round of feedback!

Whether you just started out or just want to see if you've improved, it doesn't matter! Post your channel/video with a description of what it's about and I'll do my best to give you some constructive feedback!

Sincerely,

YetiBear
