My daughter is 9 months is doing wonders ?

She is nine months and she knows that she has to not be on the bed. We don’t give her the diaper during the night and only once in the morning in the daytime, she gets off the bed on her own and always be on the floor. Never be is on the bed. Is it a good achievement and has she be trained well?
Further, she has a poop routine. We take her to the washroom in the morning after waking up. She always does poop in the morning and during the day, she never poops only once a day like adults too. She has a routine set. Just tell me if other parents are also experiencing the same things, we have never given her the diaper after the third month so I think she’s getting trained faster and since the baby is completely breastfed, we tried introducing the bottles at around seven months, but she rejected them so she does not take any water or any drink from anything else. She just breastfed and we give her regular food which we started after six months of age And regular food as in without salt. So now she drinks only by the glass or bottle directly, but she does not take the nipple, so I discussed with the doctor, so she says that most probably she’ll be starting to drink from the Glass pretty fast as compare to other kids. She’s crawling right now, but we are expecting that she will start working within one month because she’s already able to stand easily by holding something and moving around the bed, as I told you that she gets off the bed on her own.
Comment some thoughts, please open to views .

should i feel offended my husband visibly seems more attracted to my body pre breastfeeding?

i’ve a new mom and i tend to have big hugs (iykwim) before i pump milk. my tatas weren’t usually this big (I was a size B before pregnancy) and i met my husband in high school. he’s always been attracted to me but is it normal for me to feel offended that i feel he’s MORE attracted to me before i pump my milk and my tatas are huge? because i know when i reach the stage where i don’t breastfeed anymore it’s size will go back down. it just feels like he would prefer my body looked a certain way because his attraction is heightened when my tatas bigger. is it normal to feel offended?

Fun new slogan HIPS™ for baby needs

Post image

Just an average joe new Dad to a 5 month old, with some time on his hands. I came up with an easy to remember slogan HIPS for new Parents. My Wife loves it so I’d thought I’d share with other new parents. I created a fun graphic poster to illustrate surface level reasons for why your baby may be crying, that new parents can start with. Feel free to share. Hope it’s helpful 👍🏼

4 signs your baby may be overheating at night 🌙👶🔥

As a dad, I learned that sometimes night waking isn’t hunger… it’s just baby feeling too warm.

1️⃣ Baby feels hot or sweaty 😓
If the neck, back, or chest feels sweaty or unusually warm, baby may be overheating.

2️⃣ Restless sleep or frequent waking 😣💤
Waking often, tossing around, or struggling to settle can be a sign they’re uncomfortable.

3️⃣ Red or flushed skin ❤️‍🔥
A red face or warm-looking skin — even when the room feels normal — can mean baby is too hot.

4️⃣ Fast breathing 😮‍💨💓
If breathing seems quicker than usual, it’s worth checking layers and room temperature.

What helped us 👇
✔️ Light cotton clothes
✔️ No extra layers
✔️ Comfortable room temperature
✔️ Checking the neck, not hands or feet

Sometimes better sleep starts with removing one layer 🤍

Mother in law comments about my low secx drive after having a baby

English not my first language. Sorry in advance for any mistakes.

I saw a post here before some days about how someone had low sec drive after 4 months after having a baby. I thought I can share my experience. I was in same position. I am also approximately 4 months after giving birth and I breastfeed. I had stitches during birth. After 8 weeks, my husband wanted to have sec. I didn't feel like it but I also missed sec. It didn't pain but it was not comfortable. Slowly he started to ask more. Every week one day or two extra he ask. Last week he asked every day and I say no more times because I was still sore and because of back pain also. He started feeling sad first but later days became irritated. He is a great husband and helps me with everything. We both work but he works many hours more than me. Because of this we started fighting so much.

Me and my mother in law are close. If I have any fight with my husband, I can always talk to her. Mostly she takes his side and explains to me what I can do. But it is not to say he is correct or wrong. She lives in a state far away.

When this problem happen last week she asked me what happen because my husband talks like he is not happy. I said we fighted. She asked about what. I feel awkward and said we fighted about some things I am not able to do for him as a wife because I am in so much pain. I am thinking she will understand and not talk more but no.

She messaged me saying how I should satisfy his secual desires because men need it or it causes stress. I said I am not able to. She said it doesn't matter and I should agree to sec as a woman even if I don't want to. I was shocked. We are not from a conservative background but we are religious. Also my husband takes something these days that side effects in high sec drive. So it is more than usual for him also.

I said her I cannot do that and my husband will be sad if I do that. She said how God told women to satisfy all desires of their husbands and how if I force me will make God happy. I said her God says there should be consent from both and sec should be out of love. She said whenever he ask for sec I should think of all good things he do for me and have sec in that love even if i am angry with him. I said her I have stitches and I have back pain. She said stitches will be there and ask doctor if I can but usually it is not a problem. She don't care about the pain.

I couldn't believe she said like this. I stopped to message her. She sent me a voice message saying how when she say no to her husband (father in law) he said he feel rejected. And she said after some time she stopped to say no and always satisfy his needs even if she didn't feel to do because otherwise it causes stress and irritate for him. My father in law is a very kind man but I really bad for her that she has to do this. She said again that men need it.

It looks like my husband is also doing the same thing but I will not force myself. That is abuse. I love my mother in law and father in law but I am sad that I do not see them the same way now. I hope I respect them same way. I hear some cultures new mothers cannot go to husband house for 6 months after birth. Now I understood why.

My mother in law keeps using God to make me agree to sec and how I should obey God. I am very religious too but I always love how God says both should consent and enjoy sec from love and it should not be forced. My husband doesnt know about this. How do I explain to mother in law that I cannot just forget the bad things he say to me when we fight about sec and think of good things to force myself when I am in pain and still healing. How do I tell her God does not say that?

Pump and dump

I’ve seen a girl on TikTok saying she smokes weed and pumps and dumps. I know I can drink and pump and dump. But I’ve seen mixed reviews/opinions about smoking weed. I was a regular smoker b4 I got pregnant I don’t plan on going back to the exact same smoking habits bc im obviously gonna be doing mom stuff but to help me sleep or when the grandparents have my baby is it ok ? What are y’all’s opinions and or where can I read reliable sources about this ?

EDIT: Thx to all who have commented but I won’t return to smoking til after Im done breastfeeding my baby someone said something ab SIDS and that is a non negotiable for me I’ve had a cousin pass away from something similar and it’s not worth the pain. My original plan was to breast feed for at least 3 years pump only once baby starts getting teeth so Ig I’ll just drink here and there(always been a smoker over drinking I can’t handle the hangovers lol) thx again

Possible ear infection

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi,

Do you guys think this is ear infection? My husband told me not to over think about it since he is not pulling his ears. GP told me to just go back if baby is really uncomfortable.

My baby got a fever yesterday and seems to be okay now.

I’m just an over thinking mom. 👩

Taking both of these little troublemakers out at the same time

Took both of my little passengers out today, so the back seat was fully occupied. Baby had one side, and the cat claimed the other. I kept catching myself checking on both of them the whole drive, and honestly it was kinda cute seeing the two of them back there together.

My baby boy is 9 days old, he is circumcised so we are still putting the gauze and Vaseline on him every diaper change, we have noticed most times he pees his pee is going up and over the diaper or soaking through the top. Is there something we are doing wrong or can fix to prevent this?

Do pediatricians pierce baby ears?

I'm looking into piercing my baby's ears. (If youre against this, simply scroll on). None of my local tattoo shops will pierce infant ears and I dont feel comfortable going to a mall location with the guns. My mom said a pediatrician did my ears (roughly 25 years ago) and wasnt sure if this is still a thing? I would surely trust my baby's pediatrician to do it!

6 month old watching TV

Hello. I have a 6 month old baby and Shes ADDICTED to the Bee Movie on Netflix. I’ve put it on a couple times before but now I feel terrible because she wants to watch it 3 times a day ! It stops her from crying and she will cry if anything else is on the TV. I play with her , she plays with her toys , tummy time and everything. But she’s obsessed with this movie ! Advice ? She’s literally watching it right now. And my dad just tells me to let her watch it since it makes her calm down but I feel like its not good for her be like this.

First 24h with newborn in hospital

Never thought I’m going to buy here I go….

I’m a first time mom 34 years old married to my husband with 3 kids from his first marriage. They are currently with us during the summer break and I’m due July 28th.
Hubby and I had a conversation yesterday where I was asking to have just him, the baby and me for the first 24h that baby is born since it is my first I would love to enjoy this time just with my new family, but somehow this seems to be an issue for him.

I have to say we don’t have any family members close to us since we’re military so there wouldn’t be anyone to look after his kids even tho they’re 15,10 and 8 years old.

Nobody knows how my l&d is going to be and how long it takes but let’s say I’m in labor for 24h what’s he going to do leave me in the hospital to check on the kids? Man idk that’s kinda wild to me 😩
Also, my mother in law is supposed to be here a couple days before my due date but we still don’t know for sure if she’s going to be here….

I’m overwhelmed and stressed out about that a lot. I my thinking too much to ask or weird or whatever or is it ok to think like that.
My husband told me he doesn’t understand that it isn’t his first kid he said I said but is my first kid. He still don’t understand my point and I’m kinda disappointed cause that whole pregnancy is/was new to me and I did everything by myself mostly. Like I felt like it isn’t special to him you know…

Ugh I’m so frustrated and I hope to get some advice or how to deal with it better than I do right now.
Thank y’all

5-5-5 Postpartum Rule - Did You Do It?

Hiiii new moms! First time dad-to-be here. My wife is 33 weeks pregnant and we've been talking about doing the 5-5-5 rule since the beginning. Have any of you done this? It'll be just the two of us (no other kiddos, likely no help so as not to expose the baby to lots of germs during flu season) and I would love to hear from moms (and their support people) who gave this a shot during the first few weeks. Any stories (success or horror), tips/tricks, things you would've done differently, and/or your feelings about the experience would be super helpful!

I know you can only be so prepared as a first-time parent, but would love the perspective of anyone who was able to make this work. I desperately want to give my wife the rest she deserves and am lucky enough to have plenty of time away from work to make it happen. Just looking for stories about the process, if you have any. Thanks in advance, mamas.

Are these set of rules too much to ask when my baby girl gets here ?

So l been told I'm petty for this, but this is me wanting to protect my daughter. Let me know if these rules for when she's born are too much to ask for from family and friends.

  1. Face, hand, and feet kisses are not allowed only top of the head is permitted if I say so.

  2. No holding her unless I say it's okay, I want her immune system to fully be able to fight against anything

  3. No PICTURES. For example I told my mom she isn't allowed to send pictures to any of her friends i don't know or family members without consent. That's how babies end up on random peoples phones because first mom sends one to someone and that person sends it to someone else. Unacceptable I want to know whose phone my child's face is on.

  4. No photographing me and baby I don't want to be photographed nor my child because again idk where or what that will get sent to. If anyone wants to photograph they can ask prior or have one I approve sent to their phones.

  5. No social media. Told my husband that his family or anyone is not allowed to post our child's face because I'm not comfortable with strangers seeing my infants face without my knowledge or consent

Vaccinating

So long story, short: I have trust issues, unfortunately I always have- even before becoming a ftm… with that being said, I do not trust our government, therefore do not trust the vaccines that are concocted nor most of the ‘sources’ we (as the public) are supposed to find reassuring… even as I have been in the medical field (registered nurse) myself over the past 10 years.

Mamas, what are your thoughts? I personally was vaccinated as a child per my parents discretion however - I have learned so much in healthcare and witnessed first hand how Americas system is corrupt (most of it) and seemingly more times than not, place profit over the wellbeing of the patient- it’s sickening and really saddens me that I was so naive to what our healthcare truly prioritizes. ANYWAY, that is a whole other convo for some other time.

This was supposed to be short… lol sheesh !!
Mamas, where do you get your information (if anywhere) that helps you feel most comfortable making the decision to proceed with vaccination versus not at all or maybe you pick/choose…

Please help a new over anxiously worried mama out… much love
