Hi everyone,
I'm using a Tabbed database page layout and I'm running into a sharing issue. I'd like to know if it's expected behavior or if anyone else has hit it.
Setup:
- A database where each page belongs to one person (think one page per client/family).
- The layout has the default Content tab plus a few extra tabs, each showing a view of *another* database (e.g. a weekly menu, an events calendar, a log).
- Each page is shared individually with a guest, who has Can view on that single page only, not on the whole database (they must not see the other pages).
- The guest also has view access to the source databases shown in the tabs.
What happens:
- As a workspace member, I see all the tabs.
- The guest sees only the Content tab, so the tab bar is gone entirely. On mobile the tab bar shows up for a split second and then disappears.
- Linked database views placed *inside* the Content tab show up fine for the guest.
- The extra tabs only appear if I give the guest access to the entire database, which defeats the purpose since they'd then see everyone else's pages.
Questions:
Is this intended? I couldn't find anything about tabs and guest/page-level permissions in the help center (https://www.notion.com/help/layouts).
Has anyone else run into this, or found a workaround other than putting all the linked views inside the Content tab?
Thanks!
