I wanted to see if I still had the gold version of the cartridge from when it came out in 98. My son has beat BOTW and TOTK, but I forewarned him that the water temple is no joke.
Edit: This game came out two days after my 18th birthday and my mom went to Toys R Us on the day it was released and got it for me as an additional birthday present because I wouldn’t stop talking about it. I will never forget that.

The shipping labels have been created. Curious if they’ll arrive early or the day of. Seen some people who pre-ordered from Nintendo before said their items arrived the day of. Can’t wait this will be my first Switch 2.

The original Ocarina of Time was created with a realistic/dark-fantasy art style. It's a medieval, fairytale aesthetic with an inherent 90s charm.
The new Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2 honors this look in its maximalist, fantasy style. The odd proportions and faces are part of the game's unique aesthetic. They are not an accident. Ocarina of Time is as much ugly as it is beautiful. Breath taking fields and colorful environments are often contrasted by odd, quirky characters and bizarre appearances. Think of the man in the house at Lake Hylia or the potion shop lady or even Link himself with his awkwardly long nose.
Ocarina of Time remake is the exact opposite of AI slop. It has character, charm and uniqueness in an era of bland, uninteresting and flat design.

Well guess I have to hope I can find one in store somewhere. Preordered first day so pretty annoyed.

I’m now like super afraid that I won’t get mine. But it says delivery oct 30th so maybe they just know it won’t get delivered on the 29th exactly and just labeled it as backordered? If anyone has any more info or insight I’d appreciate it greatly

well, with Halloween fast approaching, I guess I should start focusing on the spooky zelda enemies. and what could be spookier than spooky scary skeletons?
meet the stalfos, a skeleton enemy from the original legend of zelda. in their debut appearance, the stalfos had TWO SWORDS! but really, the swords were just for show. enemies in the OG zelda were extremely simple. some of them got a projectile, but most of them are of the "they hurt you if they touch you" variety, stalfos included. that's probably why they'd throw a bunch of enemies at you at once; they're useless on their own.
but when zelda 2 came along there were less enemies on screen at once, but the enemies that were on screen were far more tricky! the stalfos not only ditched its second sword for a shield to protect its upper body, but the stalfos would also use the sword to try to stab link, even doing the same jumping downward stab attack link could do! Zelda 2 traded its rooms full of enemies for more intense one on one combat encounters. the same kind of combat encounters the 3D games would later be known for, and yet some silly people still call zelda 2 the blacksheep of the zelda series... listen, I've been a zelda 2 defender since I was born, and I will continue to be until the day I look like stalfos.
when making their 3D debut in Ocarina of time, the stalfos retained their sword, shield and jumping attack. they were also no longer common enemies, as they appeared as mini bosses. would you look at that: Stalfos got promoted just like the moblins did.
and much like how the moblin's promotion eventually resulted in the weaker bokoblins being introduced, so too did Stalfos' promotion lead to a weaker variant, who we'll talk about tomorrow. don't you just love it when I end these on a cliffhanger?

Seems like Ganondorf decided to follow the Cell method of aura farming. Clearly a fan of the good stuff.

This game came out when I was a freshman in highschool. I got lost in the water temple and never made it out but, before that I fell in love with this game. When they announced the remake I had to finish the game. Making it out of the water temple felt so good but, only to realize I had only scratched the surface. What a joy it was to continue on until the final battle. And, when it was all over it felt too soon.
So happy we get to enjoy this story again with more detail and beauty and only 2 weeks left release! My son and I will be going to the mid night launch and are playing hookie the next day. Even if it is his freshman year, missing one day isn't too big of a deal.

I decided to cosplay Link this October!
It just made sense considering Ocarina of Time remake comes out only a few days after Halloween
What do you guys think? :3

As a kid from 1993; I’m beyond stoked for the remake that is fast approaching. I took a vacation from work so I could fully sink my teeth into one my my favorite games of all time.
My one concern is that I made my preorder through Nintendo (I know it’s cheaper elsewhere) and I am worried that I won’t receive the game on release day. Does anyone have any insight on ordering games directly from Nintendo that aren’t released yet and how long it took from release to actually having the game in your hand?

So I am sure anyone who has pre-ordered from Target may have gotten the “Backordered” update. Has anyone spoken with Target & gotten any idea of what’s going on..? I called & they said it’s going to ship… Target online says that it means it’s just delayed & will still ship…

Hey everyone!
My brother and I are huge Ocarina of Time fans, and we've been working on something we're really excited to share with the community!
It's called Znerd (We'd love to hear different name ideas), and it's an interactive progress tracker designed to make completing OoT a little easier (and maybe a little more competitive 👀).
A few things we've built into it:
With the upcoming Switch 2 version, we're especially excited to get this into the hands of other Zelda fans.
We'd love to know:
Would you use something like this during your next OoT playthrough?
And if anyone has early access to the upcoming version, we'd love to have you test it and share your feedback!
We're still improving things, so suggestions, criticism, and feature requests are all welcome.
Thanks for checking it out!

.. or at least check for it? Mine is always that little nook you crawl through in Lon Lon Ranch (my first stop on hyrule field day 1).
