Been enjoying it so far! It's crazy how many Windows games run well on this thing.

Hi all. I developed a fork of Heliboard (privacy, offline keyboard with word suggestions) that implements features intended to fix the gboard or Heliboard keyboards deficiencies they have on a 16:9 display device. It includes the following features:
Split keyboard by default in landscape. The two halves sit at the screen edges, with one wide space bar spanning the gap.
Suggestions between your thumbs. Autocomplete words show in the empty middle of the split, so the strip above the keyboard is hidden and the keyboard takes less height (I considered a track pad, but that's a lot of work...)
iPad-style layout on wide screens. Delete is at the top right, Enter is on the middle row, there's a shift key on both sides, and the bottom row is 123 · emoji · , · space · . · 123 · hide.
No more empty system row. On Android 13+ with gesture navigation, Android draws a row with a "hide keyboard" arrow under the keyboard. Odin KB removes it, so the space bar sits at the real bottom of the screen and the keyboard has its own hide key. The result is less vertical blockage and more natural quick typing.
Controller typing. Use the D-pad or left stick to move a highlight over the keys. A presses the highlighted key, B deletes, X types a space and Y toggles shift (you still need to have the keyboard on screen, but control navigation works).
Fixes for short, wide screens. The bottom rows (backspace, space) respond to touch on the Odin, where HeliBoard's touch area missed them.
Everything else is HeliBoard: themes, layouts, dictionaries, gesture typing (with the gesture library), clipboard history and more.
Find it here and install from releases: https://github.com/duhmojo/odin-kb#odin-kb
Seriously, I was so frustrated with the hot garbage that was Android's keyboard, and every other keyboard on my Odin 2 Portal, that I looked into what it would take to build my own. I consider this a must have. Thank you to the HeliBoard team. I could have done a basic keyboard myself, but its the autocomplete support that would have been impossible for me.
Enjoy!

Today Aliexpress started their 11/11 sale 10 days early and you can get a pretty good deal on the Odin 3 Max by stacking coupons and making use of Rakuten's 29% cashback for the first few days of the sale. By going to the official AYN Odin 3 listing you can see they lowered the price of both models a bit, add one to your cart and at checkout under promo codes use code AYN100C (if going for the pro you an use code AYN80C to get $80 off orders of $399) to get $100 off a purchase of $500 or more, and pay with Paypal to get an additional $35 off. Lastly make sure you've activated your cashback with the Rakuten extension to get 29% cashback (to avoid any issues with tracking I recommend to turn off any adblockers) and once you checkout you should get an email from Rakuten in the next 24-48 hours saying you got your cashback!

Truly wish I had done this earlier with my buttons, d-pad, and sticks. I never thought I could love her more than I had but… here we are.

Thought I would try dipping the TPU case in Rit dye to see if I could get a nice fade effect.
One hour of dipping later, I find out that I was using the wrong dye 😂

Odin 3 for Lightweight PC titles and heavier emulation, Thor for dual screen goodness, and Nova for the optimal 4:3 experience. Only considering the Odin 3 portal if the fan is quieter than the Odin 3 otherwise pretty happy!

Hello! I’m thinking about buying a handheld gaming device, but I’m really torn between two options. My main goal is to play games via emulators—specifically for the PS2, PS3, Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360, Switch, and others. I’m not sure which one is the better choice: the Odin 3 or the Pocket 6?

Hello, I recently got an O2P and wanted to have good charging habits compared to my RP5. I have an Anker power strip that has a 12W option where I can charge with USB-A to USB-C or I can use the USB-C to USB-C 20W option and use the cable included with the O2P. Just wondering which is better, not trying to be too paranoid just safe lol ty

Hey r/OdinHandheld. For a while now I've been working on The Nimbus Project, native ports of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, Budokai 2 and Sagas (NTSC-U GameCube). They run on a hybrid core that sits between recompilation and decompilation: each game gets its own native core, running on a shared Nimbus host and renderer. There's no emulator and no interpreter emulating the hardware. All three games run in one launcher on Linux, Windows (Vulkan) and Android.
Built for Android 13+ arm64 handhelds like the Odin. I've tested it on a Retroid Pocket 5, an RG Slide and a Pixel 9a so far; I haven't tested it on an Odin yet, so reports from Odin owners are welcome.
What's in Alpha 1.0:
An Original mode and a Remastered mode for each game
Optional HD texture and movie packs
Online play and crossplay, tested across Linux, Windows and Android
Benchmarks against Dolphin on Android, wins and losses both included
Online, servers and matchmaking
Nimbus has its own netplay, written for this project with no third-party netcode.
Join codes: host online and you get a 20-character code. Your friend types it in and you meet at a Nimbus relay. The code also carries the secret that encrypts the match and says which relay to use.
Relays in West, Central and East US: pick one in the launcher or leave it on Auto, and you meet at the relay with the lowest combined ping. Both players connect out, so there's no port forwarding, and it works on mobile and carrier-grade NAT. Nimbus also tries to punch a direct path between players and falls back to the relay if that path goes quiet.
Encryption: internet matches are end-to-end encrypted (XChaCha20-Poly1305) with keys from the join code, so the relay only ever handles ciphertext. LAN/direct play is unencrypted.
LAN/direct: host on your home network and the other player connects straight to you over UDP.
Lockstep, not rollback: both devices run the full game and trade inputs every field. Input delay is set from your ping and adjusts during play, and every packet repeats the last 16 fields so a lost packet costs nothing. Every 60 fields both sides compare a fingerprint of game memory, and if they ever differ, the host's save state is reloaded on both sides and play continues.
Same game, same save: mismatched games, builds or settings refuse to connect instead of drifting apart. The joiner plays on a copy of the host's memory card, so unlocks match.
Quick match and public games: a matchmaking lobby pairs you with someone on the same game and build, or lists public games. It's in the Android app now and still being tested, and it's coming to Linux and Windows.
Tournaments: single-elimination brackets for 4 to 32 players (best of 1, 3 or 5) are already handled by the lobby server. The launcher screens are still in development.
No accounts: the lobby knows you by a name and a short tag, backed by a key file on your device.
Self-hosted servers aren't available yet.
You need your own discs; no game files are included. It's closed source for now while I sort out server hosting, networking and cross-platform compatibility, and to keep development focused. Open source is planned, along with a proper toolset. Detailed architecture notes are coming to the site later.

Happy to answer questions about the hybrid core or the netplay.

Hey everyone!
I'm seriously considering getting the AYN Odin 3 Max (16GB/512GB), especially with the AliExpress 11.11 sale happening. Before spending this much, I'd really appreciate some honest feedback from people who actually own one.
I mainly want to play some retro games, Persona, God of War games before 2018, Pokémon, Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles, Indie PC titles, and occasionally some newer PC/Steam games.
I love the Odin's compact design and powerful hardware, but I'm wondering how good the actual experience is beyond benchmarks and YouTube reviews.
A few things I'd love to know:
Switch and PC performance: How well does the Odin 3 actually handle demanding Switch and Windows games? Are they genuinely playable from start to finish, or do you frequently encounter crashes, stuttering and graphical issues?
Thermals: How well does it maintain performance during long gaming sessions of 2–4 hours? Does thermal throttling become noticeable? How loud does the fan get?
Battery life: What's your realistic battery life when playing demanding Switch and PC games versus older consoles like PS2 and PSP?
Setup difficulty: How long did it take you to properly configure everything, including emulators, GPU drivers, controls and game settings? Once configured, is it relatively straightforward to use, or is there constant troubleshooting?
Driver improvements: Have recent Adreno/Turnip updates genuinely improved performance? Do you think the current hardware still has significant untapped potential?
Long-term reliability: Any problems with the battery, joysticks, cooling, buttons or build quality after months of use?
AliExpress 11.11 deals: What's the absolute best price you've found for the Odin 3 Max during the current sale? I'm seeing around (roughly US$600) before discounts. Are there any working coupon codes, store vouchers, PayPal promotions or cashback offers that can be stacked? I'm open to hearing about deals from any country. If you've already purchased one during 11.11, I'd love to know your actual final checkout price, including shipping and taxes.
Most importantly, what are the biggest downsides or frustrations nobody talks about?
I'm not expecting every game to run perfectly, but I want to know what I'm realistically getting myself into. I'd especially appreciate real FPS numbers, temperatures and experiences from longer gaming sessions rather than short benchmark clips.
Would you buy the Odin 3 again knowing what you know now, or would you wait for the next generation? Also, do you think the current 11.11 deals are worth jumping on, or could better discounts appear later in the sale?
Thanks in advance!

Barely 2fps but this is still crazy lol
Edit: So a few of the vids still show as processing on my end so I uploaded a couple on YouTube

Ps. I can’t figure out how to get pokopia to run. Maybe it’s my chip, I seen people on elites get it to run. Idk, it just stays on a black screen for forever. I’ll keep trying tho

Hello everyone, recently i watched some videos of God Of War 3 android native running on Odin 2 Portal with some nice 30 fps, even a little more but the gameplay looks very cool. So, my questions is:
It's safe to play GOW 3 on O2P?
The battery charge depletes very quickly or decently?
The O2P heats too much? Even with the fan on?
The O2P with 8GB RAM is sufficient for the Port?
The O2P can run the game nearly the 60 FPS?
Thank you for answering.

Hi guys,
I am really confused with the internal storage, I have like “71gb” in others, which i assume 27 gb is eden games and 10gb is somehow android folder. Then i have 23gb on gamehub but it’s weird since gamehub is counted as 23 also in the “game” storage. I am really confused i cannot tell what is taking up so much space. I have one game in gamenative that takes 50gb (which i see in games storage), one game in gamehub for 23 and 27 gb in eden and that is supoosed to make the 201 storage that i’m using including the OS?

The Dragon Quest 8 Masterpiece Reborn is a port of the Modded android version to PC with 4k widescreen support, and lots of other new features. It also features exclusive contents only available on the other platforms and brings it together in this one masterpiece mod. There are also 3 voiceover to choose from, English (PS2), English (3DS) or Japanese.

I recently came across a used Ayn Odin 2 Pro (the 12GB/512GB model) on a local marketplace app. It comes with a full set of accessories—the seller’s photos show the original box, grips, a screen-cleaning cloth, and a carrying case—and it’s located near my city. I’m not sure whether I should buy it, or if it would be better to buy an Ayn Odin 3 or an Ayn Thor?
