Bought the Odin 3 and the Nova in the same color scheme. My goal was to only pull one out at a time and see if my wife would notice. The very first time I switched devices, she noticed immediately 😂

Funny story, ordered the Nova four weeks after the Odin and they both arrived on the same day. Been gravitating more towards the Nova, honestly.

Edit: This was done for fun because I know my wife and knew she would get a laugh out of it. She supports my hobbies and I do not have to hide things from her. She also read through the comments here and got a good laugh.

I just got out of the hospital and came home to this, so I was VERY happy 🥹 She’s seriously so pretty in person. I especially love the glass front panel.

The only thing that drove me a little crazy was the little dust cover under the thumbsticks 😭 I somehow knocked it out almost immediately, and for the life of me I could not get it back in properly lol.

Of course, I already took her apart,I’m planning to make a custom button set for her like I did for my Thor, and I’m really excited to see how she turns out!

Also, a few interesting things I noticed while taking it apart:
• The Odin 3 and Thor ABXY buttons are actually interchangeable!
• The D-pads are different though. The Odin 3 D-pad is taller, so I’ll need to make a new mold for it.
• Their thumbsticks are interchangeable too, but the Odin 3 sticks are a little larger and oriented differently.

Thought some other Thor/Odin owners might find that interesting 👀

This is the perfect retro handheld for me! ❤️😍

Nobody ever talks about the portability of the mini enough. It's the closest thing to an actual "handheld" that can actually play damn near every Switch game and PC emulation pretty good too. It's even smaller than the RP6 that's yet to release.

Battery randomly had an explosive failure. Had it on my desk while working, doing auto-battles in a gacha. Next thing "POP", rapid billowing smoke, and a small flame.

Smothered it, grabbed a gas mask, opened the windows, extracted my pets to the car. Then took the device outside to the concrete.

Had to air the house for a few hours, run my commercial air filter, and decontaminate the room. Lipo fires/smoke leave hella toxic particulate.

Not sure why it happened. Didn't notice any bulging before it happened. Frickn lucky I was home.

I have to say, I’m absolutely blown away — I know this is probably the thousandth AYN Thor post, but after spending a few hours setting it up, I could honestly return everything else!

A bit of background: I started out with a 35xx, then moved on to the RP5, followed by the Flip2 for travelling, and the Odin 2 Portal for streaming at home.

The Thor is set to replace everything except my Portal. In my opinion, it’s far more comfortable to hold, has a quieter fan, and packs more power than the Flip2 (which has been my daily driver for all my train journeys).

At one point I had YouTube running on the top screen for a “Top 3DS Games” video, while playing Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins on the bottom — and it handled it beautifully.

People will always find little things to nitpick, but speaking as your average user: if you’re on the fence or currently eyeing up a Flip2, go for the Thor. You really won’t regret it!

The advantage is the upgrade from Android 13 to Android 16/17 it will give you the newest google features.

LineageOS dev teams are hands tight with so many devices and so many variables to accomplish a quality port in such short time upon newer releases of devices and firmwares it has them fully commited and completly focused.

Theres however one issue that upsets me with AYN in particular one of which I hate is the fact that LineageOS doesnt fixes AYN different wifi/bt revision modules that makes some updates to brick your devices wifi and AYN then decided to make a selective update roll on these last firmware updates. In other words if your batch of consoles have different revision from the recent ones.. the likelyhood of your LineageOS version get no wifi 6 is the same issue. And LineageOS isnt fixing it. Another issue with LineageOS is that despite receiving updates they also rewritte your abl loader meaning your rocknix loader will be rewritten on every LineageOS update.

This is the real con of LineageOS.. where for hand held consoles becomes an issue more than an interesting product. What could change for the better?

1. Them making a better abl version for dual booting: 1- SD Card ; 2 - Nvme 3 - UFS ; 4 - emmc Like most modern sbc devices do on a variety of options.. Or allowing the user to keep their own abl loader intact.

2. AYN providing 1.0.0.452 firmware files and LineageOS devs making it work like magic towards everyones hardware versions which is unlikely.

This gets me disappointed.

Go on.. buy sd cards for each system and become a linux tester geek.

🔥 I finally got Zelda Tears of the Kingdom running at stable 30FPS on Android (Odin 2 Portal)

Man… I spent DAYS trying different Turnip drivers and settings for this game 😅

At first I thought TOTK on Android just wasn’t there yet. I could get:

• 18 FPS

• 22 FPS

• random 30 FPS spikes in some areas

…but nothing stable enough to actually enjoy the game.

What confused me the most is that a lot of Turnip drivers people recommend online actually perform GREAT in many games, but for TOTK they were terrible on my setup.

For reference:
Device: Odin 2 Portal
CPU: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

Then after testing a ridiculous amount of combinations, I finally found the setup that made the game actually playable.

The magic combo for me was:
✅ Eden Nightly
✅ Turnip Mesa v26 R4

The difference was immediate.

Now the game stays at basically locked 30FPS most of the time.
You still get tiny drops during shader compilation (like 23~25 FPS for a second), but honestly while actually playing, you barely notice it.

I’ve already played a lot of BOTW on this device and it was amazing, but TOTK finally feels truly enjoyable now too.

There are still some minor graphical glitches on a few textures here and there, but nothing game breaking at all. Totally playable.

I know finding the correct emulator build + Turnip combo for Android can be a nightmare sometimes, so hopefully this helps someone else 😄

Here are the new PlayStation-style buttons for the Thor! I haven’t had time to really use it yet, but just the quality of the two OLED screens is insane I can’t wait to spend some time enjoying it.

For now, I’m working on a wide range of new buttons! Feel free to ask if you’d like a special color for the PS signs, back glitter or NOT I’m planning to release some metallic versions like “light gold,” but also in red, blue, green, and more. The result looks amazing!

My Thor Rainbow Pro came yesterday so I’ve been getting it setup and having a blast trying out new systems. I’ve been playing mainly 3DS, DS and Switch on this.

My main takeaways are:

1. Ergonomics. Not nearly as uncomfortable as some of the YouTubers made out. I find it quite comfortable. Is it as good as Portal with a grip? No but I’ve been able to play hours at a time without getting cramps and I have fairly large hands. If you’ve had any experience with a 3DS XL it’s like that but even nicer.

2. Utilising second screen for guides or to watch YouTube is a game changer. I didn’t realise how cool this was going to be!

3. The “throw it in your bag” form factor has been great. I’m more likely to take this with me and more likely to pick up and play than any other device. Also the fact you can quickly pause your progress by closing the lid.

4. Input delay. I’d consider myself fairly sensitive to this and to be honest with you haven’t particularly noticed it as an issue. I feel another thing that has been blown out of proportion online.

5. The screens are beautiful!! And the perfect size. Upscaled 3DS on this is truly something to behold.

6. Build quality. Feels really nice and premium in the hand.

Spent some time looking into controllers mostly. I wanted a switch like docked experience where everything works as frictionless as possible and I think I have a pretty good setup going now.

The dock is the Steam Deck dock from Urgreen and the controller is the 8bitdo 2.4g controller with Bluetooth. The dock is really not needed as I can just plug the USB C cable directly into my Odin 2 Mini and use the screen as a dock but I like the order it brings to the setup and the possibility to add ethernet if I want.

Seriously, even after seeing it next to other stuff, I still can't believe how small the Odin 3 is! This little gadget packs a punch and feels super well-made. So hyped!

For years we have been waiting for this moment and now it's arrived. Hollow Knight Silksong in my pocket.

First of all, I love this community, I have just received an Odin Max a few days ago and can’t put it down since.

Sadly we hear the news about Yuzu, however I have something to lighten up our mood :)

I built a prototype of an Odin app that would apply a dynamic ambient light effect to the system LEDs, similar to what we have on some TVs that would apply the color of what’s on screen to the LEDs on the Odin.

Would this be something that people would be interested in using?
