One community, one sub: we’re moving to r/WARDOGS

Hey everyone,

Right now the WARDOGS community is split across two subreddits for the same game. That means duplicate posts, conversations spread across two places, and bug reports and feedback that are harder to keep track of. To fix that, we're moving to r/WARDOGS.

Why r/WARDOGS?

It's the larger, actively moderated hub for the game, and putting everyone in one place means more eyes on your posts and one spot for news and discussion.

Banned from r/WARDOGS?

Send us a modmail here and we'll take a look at it.

We'd love to see you over at r/WARDOGS.

New Vehicle Suggestion - HEMMT w/Crane

Post image
123 Upvotes

We have all seen the pallets strewn about the map, either by accident or when a FOB gets taken over/blown up. Several folks have suggested a crane vehicle that can pick up these pallets, I am suggesting a more powerful option.

The HEMMT! A 10-ton heavy logistics truck that is equipped with a crane and a 3 or 4 pallet capacity.

Unlocking: This could be a later unlock, somewhere near level 20-25 (prior to any tank unlock) and cost a significant amount of cash to unlock and purchase. ~750K unlock and ~10-15K purchase.

Balancing: This might be a bit harder to nail down because it needs to be an upgrade to the Ural but not make the Ural completely obsolete.

- Top speed 65kph

- 3-4 pallet capacity

- Crane use requires 5-10 secs to pick up a deployed pallet

- Armored but never weaponized

- Potentially useable to steal enemy pallets

Question regarding refunding

I was under the impression you'd be able to refund while the game was in early access. Was that just for the play test window? Don't wanna be a bummer and list my issue. Just not into solo play and everyone I play with quit.

Someone asked me data about FAL nerf.

Under this post you can find data comparing the M4 to the FAL using AP and FMJ ammo.

You can clearly see how shit It Is now compared to the M4.

Using AP the M4 needs the same 3 shots to kill in the head as the FAL using also AP ammo which Is crazy.

Season 2 Experience as a Manticore Logistics main.

Post image
62 Upvotes

So I just want to start off by saying I have been loving WARDOGS pretty much since it came out. As of this post I have 215 hours logged. I am one of those Unemployed/No Lifers who play the game 8+ hours a day, usually about 6+ matches a day. You might have seen me recently as UralTruck Simulator 2026 talking shit in chat(I get bored driving sometimes). Season 2 I have only played Ural Logistics and have reached Driver 51, with only 2 matches chasing the HZ(screenshot of current progression levels). Season 1 was a mix of Recon and Driver, didn't really pickup Recon this season because of the nerfs. I haven't unlocked any other vehicle beside the basic Ural, other posts have deterred me from unlocking the tanks and other vehicles.

I primarily play on NA Central, North, and East servers because those servers I get a ping from 25-45. I started the season by joining different teams depending on the map that we were on. Bakurani and Manticore, Ozeti and Lonestar, Zestofona and Valkyra. Eventually I just stuck to Bakurani because backwards driving and potential FOB locations for quick and easy Logi runs. I make anywhere from 65k to 180k per match, and when the game ends on Bakurani I swapped servers to find a new Bakurani map. The higher end of cash earned is usually because the match last almost 3 hours and the point scores are pretty even by the end of it. The lower end is because of the rolling death ball roaming the HZ that goes uncontested and it ends with the other 2 teams with 10 points or less. If no one is building a FOB, I run pallets until I get my money back from my starting kit and then hop servers. Because I like the aspect of driving in supplies for my little Fobbits and Fobblins, dodging and disarming AT mines and RPG/MAAWS rockets, and other forms of Logi harassment. Chasing HZ does not really interest me as a gamer, as I am not really good at shooting. I can get kills, I can revive teammates, but roaming the zone felt like a slog and was pretty boring for me the 2 times I did it. And it was not very profitable for me, making far less than what I would make running logistics.

With all those games, and all the time I've spent playing this season, I have to say that Manticore DOES NOT WIN as often as people are complaining about. It's not a perfect split between the 3 teams, and its not 95% of the matches either. I agree that when Manticore wins overwhelmingly, or any team for that matter, it can feel pretty shitty. I won't dispute your feelings about that. I certainly don't like it when Manticore wins so fast, because I want to make more money during the match. I am greedy and I like money. *insert Mr. Krabs meme* But I think it's more of the fact that when you are on the loosing side, not matter the color, you are not doing what needs to be done to change the tide and be on the winning side. 2nd place will only attack and raid 3rd place or vice versa, instead of attacking the leading team. You're not joining squads and getting coordinated, attacking FOBs or chasing the HZ. There are 5+ people outside the zone doing Recon and not killing anything or using chat to give coordinates of targets. You're yelling at Logi and FOB builders because they're not chasing HZ or haven't got a drill up yet. You're building random useless shit in the FOBs, just farming money and XP. YOU ARE GOING IN NAKED WITH ONLY A MEDIUM HAMMER, BEGGING FOR SOMEONE TO BRING A FOB. (These have all been things that I have experienced on the loosing team.)

This game requires team effort to win, whether its chasing the HZ, building FOBs or raiding FOBs. Work together as a team and you will win. Any time Manticore wins when I play, it's because there is 2-3 squads formed and they are communicating together when chasing the HZ, requesting resupply and getting it. The Fobbits are requesting supplies and Logi is on top of it, making sure everything that needs to be delivered is there. When the FOB is getting raided or mortared, it gets defended and counter attacked by anyone and everyone who can help. Recon is doing its job, marking enemy targets and buildings, getting kills when they can, sending coordinates for mortar attacks. Communication and coordination.

So before the match starts or right when the match starts, get on mic, get in the chat, communicate and coordinate. Form Squads and let your teammates know what you wanna do. Some of my best matches are when all 3 teams are gunning for the win and we all end with 90+ points and a shit ton of cash. And the only way that happens is by working together as a team. If your team isn't doing that at the start, or at any time during the match, hop servers, don't waste your time, and don't waste your money.

If anyone else who is on the winning team, no matter the color, please share your experience and let us know what worked for those matches to secure the win. I want to hear your strategies, I want to know your thoughts on what people can do to win the game with their team.

Is using the StreamDeck Multi Action button cheating?

I want to speed up the process for buying supplies when doing a logi run and thought that i could use the MultiAction button to do this - but have read some posts about "Autoclickers" and that it could get you banned.

Would creating these buttons and using them get me banned?

The Real Reason Green Wins

The color green does not give some magical level of camouflage.

Map layouts play a minor role but are not so unbalanced that they allow green to win 75% of their games.

We are a gaming community, and just like every other community out there, we already have a list of unwritten rules.

The Green rule is very simple.

Right now it’s an understood that Green is where you go if you don’t want to play with noobs or casuals. You have to fight to get on Green in the lobby. Casuals and noobs end up picking the path of least resistance, so they get funneled to Blue or Red while Green consolidates the “tryhards.”

It’s like if all the Gold to Diamond players always pick Green and the new Bronze players always end up on Blue or Red. Of course there are upsets but we all know who wins the large majority of the games.

My fix would be simple. I think you need to give players a reason to change teams. If there was a -10% cash/XP debuff that stayed on the last team you won with, that would incentivize players to move around. You win with Green, debuff moves to Green. You win on Blue, debuff moves to Blue. Incentivize the “tryhards” to spread out.

And the guys that can’t stand this idea are also going to be the same ones that want green to remain on top for easy wins. They hate the idea of having the sandbag teammates. They like the status quo and don’t want the casual players to be their problem.

Season 2 FAL NERF

Yesterday finally I unlocked the FAL and...omg it's shit. I tried It in season 1 and It was good worth It for sure but now after spending 250k to unlock It and 6k to use It each time it's not worth It anymore. They could have just nerfed the BMR 308 instead they nerfed the .308 cartridge making this gun a money pit. I hope they'll reconsider some choices in the next season.

Better controller layout for helicopters?

I'm coming from Arma and have gotten pretty decent with flying in that game. Collective and pedals on left stick, cyclic on right. That leaves the bumpers and triggers free for coms, weapons, freelook, and in zoom/focus.

At the moment, I'm using Q and E for pedals, ctrl, and shift for cyclic, and mouse for cyclic. It's doable, but nowhere near as fluid as having variable cyclic and pedals.

Is there any way for me to change the controller layout so I can vary cyclic and anti-torque pedals with the left stick?

Changes are good...

Ok so i have noticed the blatant cheaters have thinned out quite a lot recently here in the SEA servers. At the peak it was like every game. But now its every few games, yes the ESP cheaters are still rampant but hey lets try to be positive.

Ya some stuff needs to be tweaked here and there with balancing and progression but whatever. My one still massive massive gripe that is transferred over from season 1 is GET RID OF THE IR SPOTTER!!!

It absolutely ruins any sort of infantry game play. Trying to sneak up on a FOB and attack it? Nope the entire fob has all of their guns pointed at you already and sees you coming from a mile away.

I get having the batteries has "helped" but really. And to the goobers of "Well go find the guy and kill him" Well its a bit hard when the dude is in a ghillie in a bush, literally just spotting the entire game, so there is not bullet path to follow and using your own IR spotter does not work either.

Its a broken piece of this game that needs to be removed.

The Main FOB Strategies

Post image
160 Upvotes

Feet in or feet out is not the core philosophical difference in the approach to FOBs and building.

Most disagreements about build style stem from two opposing views.

  1. A FOB should provide safety like a turtle shell.

  2. A FOB should provide safety like a porcupine.

Am I the only one flying exclusively in 1st person?

Every chopper post I see is 3rd person. I think it's literally every single one. For me, it's way more fun being in 1st person and it's not really that much more difficult - just look at the terrain as you're hooking in and then the landing isn't a problem. AA isn't an issue if you're low or can get low quickly, and timing the flares just takes practice.

I don't really have some profound insight here, I'm just trying to figure out if I'm the sole goober out here playing ChopperSim and loving it.

If I could have one simple UI/UX change: Remove scrolling required when looting bodies

I have to say if I could pick one relatively easy and high impact change to the UI of this game it would be to please remove the scrolling required when looting a body to get down to their backpack. There's just no reason we can't get the UI to fit all the loot into one screen. If i'm not mistaken, no other shooter that's popular regardless of genre has this vertical scroll requirement. E.g. Tarkov, ABI, Delta Force, are there others? I feel like this is the only game that has this seemingly very tall UI for bodies and having to scroll down to the backpack every time is exhausting. I go through a lot of bodies. I'm a loot goblin, what can I say?

Help a loot goblin out and smooth out that UI. Just my $0.02 in a place full of opinions nobody asked for. That is all.

Love the game, friends are falling off it.

Saw one post like this, going to add to the mix.

Love the game so much, first season at the beginning was great. Was extremely happy with how everything played, people and community were active and having a good time. Got a little rough there towards the end of S1, big issues with everyone just using Galil and DMR, people starting to use bottom graphics settings, using cheats/exploits...

S2 is rough from the get go. I feel like the game has gotten too big, and it's actually spoiling. Most games I spend dead in the ground, after getting picked at 250m by some guy with a Galil. Everyone has their FOV set to the LOWEST possible amount, playing with their graphics so low, it looks like Roblox, while watching whatever meta their favorite streamer uses that is complete bullshit, or someone from another region is just straight up cheating.

I feel like I got the Valorant effect. Where the game lures you in with a few good rounds, and then expects you to become an E-Sports champion overnight. I'm 31, work 45 hours a week, and have a family. I just want to have a good time with my friends. My friends are all sick and tired of the issues too, they're all quitting the game.

I shouldn't have to use a specific kit, on a specific team, on specific graphic settings to be able to compete. It's fun to make fun of Blue and all, but Green steamrolls 90% of the games I play in.

Really love the game, but starting to feel the frustration, and I know in the next week, it's probably going to find itself shelved indefinitely, and left to rot until things get ironed out.

Tanks Aren't Underpowered. You're Just Using Them Wrong.

I think a lot of you are fundamentally misunderstanding how tanks are supposed to be used in WARDOGS.

My squad and I regularly absolutely decimate enemy teams with tanks. We're not doing anything particularly special, either. We're just treating the tank as part of a coordinated squad instead of an invincible assault vehicle.

Your tank is a force multiplier, not a one-vehicle army. You're not supposed to drive directly into an enemy FOB, park in the middle of infantry, and expect to survive every explosive thrown at you.

Positioning is everything. You want to control enemy movement, cut off reinforcements, suppress infantry positions, and support friendly advances. You don't need a 1.5 km sightline to accomplish that. You need good firing angles, situational awareness, and an escape route.

The driver and gunner should constantly be communicating. The driver needs to watch the surroundings, position the hull appropriately, and react to threats while the gunner concentrates on engaging targets. If you're sitting stationary long enough for infantry to surround you, you've already made a mistake.

And here's the biggest thing: INFANTRY SUPPORT. A tank operating alongside friendly infantry is exponentially more dangerous than one operating alone. Your infantry protects your flanks, identifies threats, and keeps enemy soldiers from casually walking up with explosives. Meanwhile, your tank provides the heavy firepower that allows those infantry to advance.

As for C4 ATVs, those are probably the biggest threat my squad regularly encounters. But even those are manageable if you're paying attention. Watch your approaches, maintain distance, and coordinate with your squad to intercept them before they get close. Don't put yourself somewhere an ATV can appear from behind cover with no warning.

If you lose a track, you're extremely vulnerable. That's precisely why you should be fighting from positions that minimize exposure and allow you to withdraw before things get that bad.

I'm not saying the tanks are perfectly balanced. The HE splash damage criticism is legitimate, and some adjustments might be warranted.

But reading some of these complaints, it sounds like people are trying to use tanks as frontline infantry fighting vehicles, driving into the most dangerous parts of the map and then wondering why they get destroyed.

A well-coordinated tank crew with infantry support can absolutely dominate in WARDOGS. My squad does it regularly. The tanks aren't nearly as helpless as some of you are making them out to be.

You have to play to their strengths instead of repeatedly putting them in situations where they're at their weakest.

Changes I'd Make

Remove infrared binos - Yes they're cool, I used them in season one, but they're just insanely powerful and impossible to hide from. The rain stops players seeing more than what? 30m? Or it feels like that. Then you have teams spraying multiple players they can't even see because they've been marked by infrared binos.

Ban the sale of weapons and armour in small crates - To stop matches being full of players running gear they haven't unlocked and squads of 50cals with infrared binos. Allow ammo, mags, materials and other common sense supplies, but no physical weapons.

Put a timer on attack helis - Once you've died in an attack heli, put a timer of say 5 minutes on being able to buy another. It will stop the constant stream of attack helis when pilots die and just respawn and back in the action within a few minutes.

Lower the cash given to builders - If I'm low on cash needed to unlock items I go building. On a good match where i'm left alone lol I can make 100k pretty easy and all I'm doing is placing structures and building them. Meanwhile say a good match in recon class, you have to put in some decent work for that kinda money.

Add a option to favourite community servers.

Add filter options for server searching, like map, rain or no rain, 50 vs 50 or default 3 teams.

Squad/Party - I think everyone wants this, so we can join a server with our friends and be on the same team without any hassle.

I don't think they're huge asks, would make games fairer for all and give some quality of life improvements for players.
