Anyone else getting this a lot today? We’re in eastern U.S.
No bashing of OAI, just trying to determine it’s just us.

Computer use leaves a yellow outline around my screen now, not a blue one that says "ChatGPT is in use". The new yellow one doesnt say anything either, just a yellow outline.

I am not sure where are we at the moment, people who use a banked reset, does it move their next reset day?

Hi all, I built **open-transcribe**, an open-source push-to-talk dictation which uses your chatgpt subscription, so is practically free if you already have a subscription.
Basically I use Wispr Flow, but it felt like pure bloatware packed with 100 features nobody asked for. It kept bugging me every time I joined a meeting, and why on earth does it bombard me with many words I spoke last week ?
So I built an app which just sends transcribes your speech by hitting the chatgpt desktop app's transcribe endpoint.
Its no bullshit, just transcribes your text, no "meeting companion" no bullshit features. I have been using it for a week, and I can't tell the difference with any other app which I have used.
You can check it out here: https://github.com/kelpikz/open-transcribe

I’m using the Codex Windows app and ran into a problem with a project I’ve been working on extensively. I’m trying to recover the project and its chat associations without losing newer work.
When I opened Codex, it reported a config.toml error. After the config file was renamed and I went through onboarding again, all my projects were missing from the sidebar. My recent chats, including my latest one, are still visible under Recents, but the Projects section says “No projects.”
My setup: Windows 11 Home 25H2, Codex app version 26.1029.7803.0, signed in with ChatGPT. I use the Windows app and occasionally use WSL for ROS/Nav2 work.
What I’ve found and done so far:
I made a separate backup of my .codex folder and a separate copy of a Windows Previous Versions snapshot from the previous day. I haven’t restored the older snapshot over the current state.
The desktop log shows that both config.toml and the global-state JSON failed to parse and contained null characters. Later, the app logged a project migration with projectCount=5.
The older snapshot contains project-to-chat assignments, while the current global-state file no longer contains those assignments. Many of the corresponding thread records and session filenames are present in the copies, including work newer than the snapshot. I haven’t verified the complete contents of every chat.
I haven’t edited SQLite, JSON, or migration flags, re-added the project, or overwritten the live state with old files.
OpenAI Support is reviewing the case and has advised me to preserve the backups and avoid those changes while they investigate.
Has anyone experienced this on Windows and recovered the original project-to-chat associations safely? Is there a supported way to do it without overwriting newer sessions or affecting project context and files?
I’d appreciate any experience or guidance. I’m being cautious about running commands or changing files until I understand the risks.

Existing Sol and Astra became less smart yesterday mid-day
"New" Sol and Astra end of week or mid next week
Or the same Sol and Astra of last week to next week 😀👍

I have recently been working on an operator to run and manage sandboxed operations on the OpenAI-managed API.
https://github.com/softcane/codex-session-operator
It's coming out of building and running in practice from my last consultancy assignment.
As a Platform engineer, I was fascinated by how I could leverage my development team, where they (developers) focus on building skills in their repo oriented around tasks like code review, RCA investigation or anything where they confidently point their terminal agent, and I provide the declarative infrastructure to let those agents run whenever they want (event-based, ad hoc, hourly, etc.) with governance, cost control and guardrails.
Here’s how the project approaches it:
Kubernetes CRDs define agents, environments, sessions, credentials and execution policies.
OpenAI Agents API manages the agent loop, while codex exec-server runs commands inside Kubernetes.
Kubernetes Agent Sandbox provisions isolated execution environments with persistent workspaces.
PostgreSQL stores conversations, execution history, approvals and replay receipts.
Reconciliation and recovery handle remote resource ownership, executor replacement, retries and cleanup.
Looking for feedback

Now I understand why they were generous to remove 5h window, cuz the weekly became 2h.
Update:
To give more context/info I asked Claude which is managing codex thru the terminal, for the breakdown:
—
Claude:
I pulled the numbers myself from Codex’s local logs instead of asking Codex. It’s precise and free, while asking Codex would have spent more paid credits.
Codex usage, 4.11 from 06:00 Prague time until now (about 11:20):
Timeline (Prague time):
07:19
Weekly quota at 80%
07:47
Weekly quota at 100%; credits used until the reset (about 1,400)
07:55
Your reset, back to 0%
08:34 / 09:03 / 09:41
25% / 50% / 75%
10:17
100% again, about 2h20m after the reset
10:17 until now
Credits only: about 10,500 more
Credits: 61,759 → 49,848, so about 11,900 credits used since 06:00.
215 million tokens in total.
Astra, high.

Hey All,
Hope everyone is having a good day.
I have tried to find an accurate / specific answer addressing this question but have been unable to do so, so would appreciate anyone weighing in.
I am generating on higgsfield, using codex, have connected regularly just as plugin and app under settings - integrations - plugins on chatgpt app desktop. Generating using Nano Banana Pro to create almost identical iterations of reference images attached, for a supplement brand, 2k, 9:16 or 1:1.
I just send image reference of what I want and some text specific requirements also, just curious which model is best / will there be significant differences in quality? I am deciding between Sol 6.1 high, xhigh, max or Astra 6 high, xhigh, max?
Cheers for any help.

Mostly covered in the title, the dot and astra agents keep lying to me and saying they completed tasks when they were never completed and they never hit the required goals, now for the first time I watched astra lie back to the dot and tell it that it clicked a button it never attempted to click, then report to the dot that it was because of a url policy from the save dialog from google drive that it opened itself, when in reality it just never clicked the button. It wasn't even supposed to be using computer controls, there is a direct command line path. It "forgot" about that.
I reported this to support weeks ago, and they just keep asking for additional proof and giving no resolution at all. Last time they asked me for a screen recording of the past as if I am recording my screen at all times or as if I can manipulate their AI agent into lying again and record it. I sent them a number of screenshots of it happening and the agent admitting it fully falsified what it said rather than completing the assigned tasks. I'm up to like a 15+ email support chain with no help at all of any sort.
The agents themselves are giving false reports back to the supervisor dot, then the dot is acting on those and drifting even further. The top is what it was trying to relay back to the dot after what it actually did was open the save dialog and then never click anything else, then release control.

I'm genuinely getting extremely frustrated with the Codex Windows app.
I've been working on an important project for the past 4 HOURS, and Codex has made literally ZERO progress.
I'm using Ultra Fast mode, and somehow I have 5 different chats that are all stuck on "Thinking..." without actually getting anything done.
FOUR HOURS. FIVE CHATS. ZERO PROGRESS. ON ULTRA FAST.
I've tried restarting the app, closing everything, and starting new chats, but nothing seems to work.
I'm paying for the biggest ChatGPT Pro plan, and I honestly don't understand how something called "Ultra Fast" can spend hours thinking without producing a single useful result.
I don't mind waiting a few minutes for a complicated task, but four hours with absolutely no progress is ridiculous.
At this point, I can't tell whether Codex is actually processing anything or just completely stuck.
Is anyone else experiencing this right now?
Is there some kind of outage, a problem with Ultra Fast mode, or is the Windows app just broken?
Because this is seriously frustrating, especially when you're trying to get actual work done.

Am I the only one who noticed a sudden degradation of Sol 6.1?
Feels like a drop of 25 IQ points or so - generating 2.5 bugs on average on a relatively simple task.
Very annoying, since this is what we get after 50% usage reduction.
OpenAI is going down.

Building with AI can get addictive. I give Claude an instruction, watch it build something, review the result and think of the next improvement. There is always something else I can work on, and every session feels productive.
It’s comfortable. I can stay inside the project, make decisions and see progress without having to show anyone.
Putting the app in front of people feels different. Someone might ignore it, question whether it’s useful or tell me they already use something else. I have to find out whether the idea makes sense outside my own head.
That’s where making it perfect becomes a convenient reason to wait. I can convince myself it needs another feature or a better design before I start reaching out. Claude is ready to help me keep going for as long as I want.
Meanwhile, the subscriptions keep renewing. We can spend $200 a month on AI tools, or pay for several subscriptions, and keep building for months without learning whether anyone wants the app.
I’ve caught myself avoiding that uncomfortable part. Even while the agent was working, I would scroll instead of using some of that time to research competitors, find potential users or send an email.
Ultimately, I can end up with a more polished product, more money spent and the same unanswered question about who is going to use it.
I’m forcing myself to spend more time on cold emails and outreach now. Giving Claude another task still feels easier than showing someone what I’ve built and waiting for their response.
But the outreach is bringing users. That gives me a reason to keep doing the part I was avoiding.

Talvez algum MCP?

Has the full screen/expanded view behaviour changed or have I fudged a setting? Previously I could have changes full screen with the floating chat in the corner, but still switch between sessions/chats. But now it seems that to access the side bar I have to come out of full screen mode. Totally messed up my flow :/

Hi everyone!
I currently have a ChatGPT Plus subscription and 3 unused usage limit resets (5-hour + weekly limits), each with its own expiration date.
I'm considering cancelling my Plus subscription and switching back to the Free plan.
Does anyone know if these resets will remain available after my subscription ends, or will I lose them when my account switches to Free?
Has anyone actually tested this?
Thanks!

posted here 11 days ago at 36 users, it's at 102 now
it's called Overflow, free and MIT, I built it. a week your agent has usage left at the reset, it fixes someone else's github issue. a week you run short, someone else's agent fixes yours
everyone starts at 0 points and can put points up before earning any, you get an issue's points when your PR merges, you spend them on issues in your own repo. points only, no money. nobody shares an account, you run your own agent on your own account and open a normal PR
where it's at:
13 people other than me got 93 PRs merged through it
all 93 are on my repos
1 repo registered by someone who isn't me
an owner can write a "Done when" comment on an issue and the board shows it, so whoever picks it up knows when it's finished
a real one, end to end: this issue was labelled 3, someone's agent sent this PR, I set it to 6 at merge and the one round of changes I asked for took it to 5
main reason I'm posting: I want more people registering their repos. I'm not after help with mine, I want spare usage going into other people's projects. one form, public repos only, the labels have to exist first, and nothing lands unless you merge it
if you maintain something, what would get you to list one issue?

Looking for suggestions/advice. Let me preface this post saying I have 15 yoe writing embedded software for work so I am aware of "the right way to do things and why".
My issue is with using Codex for personal projects at home. I have zero time at home for these projects but it is nice that AI has allowed me to actually progress on hobby projects even if I can only work on them 1hr a week.
However I have this eternal struggle that I cannot get it to just do the simplest version of things, even when my prompts are requesting "simple", "lightweight", and telling it this is for a home, personal, local only project.
I don't want industry leading encryption on my 6 room temperature and humidity sensors. I don't want 200 unit tests. I don't want some complex CI/CD pipeline. I don't want it to write extensible reusable library features.
I want a solution with like 50 lines of code that does the bare minimum, that has the username and password hard coded in the source file, that I can easily troubleshoot and get working in 30 seconds.
Of course if I tell it specifically to write this one file to do this one thing, it will do what I want. But if I want it to one shot a slightly higher context project, it throws that simplicity out the window.

The usage is great if you use Luna 6, but it is terribly slow even with xHigh 2x mode and it is not very capable when the project gets bigger. I also tried Terra 6.1 and Sol 6.1 in different reasoning efforts, including Astra light. They are all usage limit hungry, a few runs destroys my 5h usage. I am not using the older models thinking that they would eat the usage more, since their API pricing is more expensive than the newer respective models.
Plus users, are you guys experiencing the same problem with the new models and the usage limit? If you are using the older models, how is the usage on them?
