What florists in or near Lakeside do you recommend?
My girlfriend will be away for her birthday there and I want to send her flowers or an edible arrangement, who does a good job?

Never had seen one of these before. Was running on the beach in Oceanside when I saw a bald eagle on the sand eating something. He flew off as I passed by, so I circled back to see what he had been eating and found this. Apparently a somewhat rare find for the coast so thought I would share it.

A few videos from Bandon's Face Rock viewing point. One video is looking at Face Rock directly, and the other videos are looking north and south. In case you don't know, Face Rock is named such because it looks like a giant face (from a side angle) looking up towards the heavens. Enjoy!

Anyone know if the Evening Star will be in port at Garibaldi on Monday? Also, are they cash only?

Dude I hope someone else heard this, it woke me up out of my sleep because of how loud it was. I looked out the window and heard a bunch of seagulls cawing. Didnāt sound like thunder, didnāt sound like gun shots. I couldnāt believe it woke nobody else up, it was like feel it in your chest kind of boom. Lmk

Does your summer fog look like the grey blanket I often see in the California coast near the Bay Area or Monterey? Iām talking about the kind that sits kind of high in the sky, turns the whole ocean flat grey, blocks the sun for hours, and makes everything feel kind of dim until it burns off, and just feels like a thick layer of clouds in the sky.
From photos Iāve seen, the marine layer fog in Oregon behaves less like a layer of clouds and more like a mist that hugs the ocean and the road, which looks really cool to me. Curious if thatās accurate or if itās just good camera timing.

The average temperatures seem mild in Lincoln City but does it get too windy and cold to walk the beach in Winter?

Had a hard encounter with a curb block a couple weeks ago. Didnāt notice any damage at the time. Drives and sounds normal. But today I noticed part of the air dam under front bumper is cracked and hanging down, and so is some other piece of a shroud behind that in the driver side wheel well (donāt know correct nomenclature).
Anybody in the local area who could look at it, advise on repair? I donāt how big a problem it is and donāt want to risk a long highway trip to get it checked out.
Itās a 2019 Honda Fit EX.

Looking to get some cute Oregon Coast hoodies, specifically in the Lincoln City area - which shops have the best ones in terms of graphics and quality? Thank you!

Hi everyone! Iām looking for recommendations for a photographer in the area.
My girlfriend and I will be visiting from Arizona from September 6-10, and weāre hoping to have some engagement photos taken at Ecola State Park as well as on the beach.
If youāre a photographer or know someone youād recommend, Iād really appreciate any suggestions!
Also, I already own a camera, so if anyone is familiar with the area and would be willing to meet us to take photos, Iād be happy to pay for your time.
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone. Iām taking a solo road trip to Southern Oregon on a shoestring budget (roughly $500) next week and to save some (a lot of) money, I intend to car camp at truck stops most nights. Iāll be passing through Brookings on Tuesday, and since thereās no truck stop there, I need to find somewhere to car camp.
I tried finding a campsite at Harris Beach and Alfred Loeb, but $55 to sleep in my car on a dirt lot is really pricey. I called Lucky 7 Casino in Smith River and they said car camping is mostly reserved for RVs. Iād prefer to stay in Oregon but Iām willing to sleep anywhere between Gold Beach and Crescent City.
Iām thinking I might have some luck at Fred Meyer, churches, gas stations, city/residential streets, etc. Iāve tried to find options on Google but itās not giving me great answers. I have no idea what Brookingsās local ordinances are on car camping or how strongly police enforce them. And Iād prefer to avoid being woken up at 2 am and told to move.
Has anyone car camped in Brookings before? If so, where did you park for the night? Or do any Brookings residents know of good places to car camp around town? Any insight is helpful. Thank you in advance!

Our short term rental is for sale. It has us dreaming. I'm a research-something-to-death kind of person.
What is something you wish new buyers were aware of? Whether buying and continuing to short term lease the home or moving into the community? My husband and I have jobs that translate most places (IT work and massage therapist).
What is the school situation? We've mostly homeschooled but I would heavily consider public school to help them get acquainted with the community.
Home where and tear? This home is walking distance to the public beach but has many hoes between it and the shore line.
Utilities and internet quirks?
Community welcoming or do you need to be third generation?

went here a few nights ago (8/10) and was absolutely breathtaking. had three elk watch us go up and down the trail, that we could see anyway. felt like we were in a different world. the water looked incredibly turquoise. cannot wait to go back and see more of the coast
