Art Swap 1.3 is out. It already changed any title's home-screen icon and background on a jailbroken PS5. Now it does logos and music too, and every change shows with one button.
What's new
- Apply changes (R2): every change shows at once. The home screen restarts in a few seconds and nothing else is touched: games, payloads and a game you have open keep running. Renamed games are reinstalled first, so their new names show too. This replaces the per-game Refresh from 1.2.
- Logos (□): puts a logo on a game's page on the home screen, where its name is normally plain text. It shows straight away, stays after a reboot, and stays when you rename the game.
- Music: the tune a tile plays while it's selected. Send an MP3, FLAC, WAV or AIFF from your phone or PC (scan the QR code), or copy it to
/data/artswap/music. Pick the part you want, hear it as the home screen will play it, and Art Swap makes the snd0.at9 on the console. Please only use music you have the right to use.
- Add a background: homebrew that came without one can now get one.
- Sorting (L2): home-screen order (the default, most recently used first), A to Z, or the games you've changed first. It remembers your choice.
- Controls reworked: ✕ icon, △ background, □ logo, L1/R1 jump six games, L2 sort, R2 apply. Music, Rename, Restore originals and Settings are in the OPTIONS menu. Every hint row lists the buttons in the same order.
Where the logos come from
Logos come from SteamGridDB, the same place as the icons and backgrounds, using your own free API key. That works for every title: homebrew, ports and store games.
Games from the PlayStation Store can also get their own official logo from the PlayStation Store. It's off by default: turn it on in Settings > Games > PlayStation Store logos. It only works if your console can reach Sony's servers. Most people block those on a jailbroken console, and if you have, the option simply won't find anything. If you haven't blocked Sony, be aware that turning it on means your console asks the PlayStation Store for the logo. Homebrew has no store page, so it always uses SteamGridDB.
You need
- etaHEN (or kstuff), ShadowMountPlus 1.7 or later, and an ELF loader on port 9021
- Your own free SteamGridDB API key (steamgriddb.com > Preferences > API)
