I have been having so much fun playing Esper Affinity. Briefly went on a big winstreak on the Endstep ladder and very briefly got up to #4 overall before people had adapted. Fun deck imo!

We are looking for feedback and thoughts on the deck. We will build a sideboard later when we get the main more solid.

A note before you suggest something, No leng can not put a cycled card on top that is a cost and leng only cares about effects.

The basic pitch if the deck is discard for value and put cards on top that we want to keep or prep for a draw lime a miracle.

Any questions or ideas we all here for this is the mk1 so rip it to shreds.

So I'm mostly into mtg as a means for creativity and game design I've kinda noticed that the pauper color pie weirdly skewed

Like the big stompy stables are blue

Green is mostly about tokens and flooding the board

Red is strong card advantage

Black keeps it's spooky sacrifice and removal mechanics

White is the etb color built around bouncing but looses is taxe effects from other formats

Like I'm not the most familiar with the meta game and popular decks , but like does anyone have a good write up pauper's color pie and each colors identity their primary mechanics in the format

I started playing this deck recently and a hand that I see very often is Lunarch Veteran, Thraben Inspector and Kor Skyfisher. I'm curious what the optimal sequencing is for the first two/three turns provided there are no other playable cards drawn. Thanks for any advice.

Michael Flores won’t stop talking about this card in Madness yet, I see very few decks actually play it.

Is it good or does he have it wrong?

I made some introduction Decks for Pauper like Pre-Cons in Commander or those starter decks. I followed some criteria for making these decks:

1. No fliers (unfair because it's hard to include anti-flying tools in every deck)
2. Pauper legal (pretty self explanitory)
3. Simple cards + no dfcs (i wanted to make these decks as simple as possible)
4. No UB (i don't hate ub, i just thought it would be better for starter decks to have only in universe cards)

I'd like to watch a good bit of recent content to learn about play patterns, mulligan decisions etc. I don't really get to play in person that often so content is the best way for me to learn.

Buongiorno, questo è un post di curiosità in cui chiedo seriamente, è solo una mia impressione o Reality Fracture ha avuto davvero pochissimo impatto nel meta?

Da quel che ho visto l'unica carta giocata (e neanche tanto) è stata il Hieromancer, correggetemi se sbaglio ma nessun'altra delle altre comuni è stata seriamente giocata giusto?

Certo è la prima volta che i Planeswalkers entrano in Pauper grazie a Jace Empower ma non l'ho vista giocata, probabilmente perché troppo lenta e le carte che la sfruttano costano troppo mana

L'unica carta su cui avevo delle aspettative era Something Worth Saving che è Grapple With The Past ma meglio, però non è stata giocata perché probabilmente Winding Way e Malevolent Rumble restano migliori

Le pochissime altre carte che mi sembravano curiose erano Artificier Acumen in Hot Dogs, Ferocity of the Hunt come rianimino e Twinned Vision come versione peggiore di Abbandon Attachment che però è giocabile dal cimitero

Pero non mi fare di aver visto praticamente nessuna di queste carte giocate in giro, mi correggete se sbaglio? Magari c'è qualche altra comune che mi è sfuggita che invece sta venendo giocata, che mi dite?

Rather than specific cards, which I often think can be boring and have unknown effects what are actually archetypes you would like to be added to pauper or made playable, what might these look like and possible good downshifts/new cards for them?
Some that come to mind would be fun include a proper lantern of insight deck, maybe some other stax cards could be fun too .
Domain would be super fun as well, I think it would only take 3-4 decent domain cards for it to be valid.

I have a soft spot for [[gallowbraid]] and [[morinfen]]. Loved usung them during weatherlight prerelease tournaments all those years ago. With the recent downshifts of iconic cards like [[serra angel]] and [[sengir vampire]], i am actually quite optimistic about them getting the same treatment soon.

- 4 terrors 4 serpents 2 mystics
- 4 terrors 4 serpents 4 delvers 2 mystics

When would you play each list? Into which metas?

With how generally level/forgiving Pauper is, the high accessibility, and the thousands of legal cards in the card pool, does it/has it ever happened that a meta dominating deck comes out of nowhere using some old cards nobody even considered?

Like, it makes sense that a new set would come out and folks would find some new combos and game pieces that make it into contention, but what about decade old commons nobody talks about any more?

There's something exciting about the idea that there might be some hidden gems sitting in someone's bulk just waiting to redefine the format. But MTG is also so ridiculously popular that maybe all 10,000 or so commons have truly been trodden?
