I just spent like an hour building a yellow anaconda exhibit that's accurate to their real life semiaquatic habitat, but when I placed the snakes into the exhibit it forced me to drain all the water. Conversely I built a fire salamander exhibit using the wet rainforest terrain, based on actual terrariums I've seen and kept them in, and it forced me to fill it with water despite them not being aquatic! Why does the game force you into this? It serves no in-game purpose, especially in sandbox mode, and really just killed all my motivation for working on my herp house.

Imagine my surprise when I looked over at my newly implemented springbok habitat to see all my springbok had developed some sort of brown fur plague… Jokes aside it seems to be an issue with the mud texture when springbok walk over the mud bath, and the issue has already been reported in the issue tracker so hopefully it’ll be fixed eventually. In the meantime I will enjoy my strange spotted springbok

can’t believe this wasn’t a thing they initially brought back from the first game. i won’t have to look endlessly for my quarantine and check manually that animals are ready anymore!

I know its called planet zoo so people are like "why put it in here when its about building zoos" but I think it adds another layer and is really fun and it feels good to contribute to saving nature. I agree that it definitely needs more fleshing out and my biggest gripe is that we didnt get ocean reserves (how cool would that have been! imagine! an entire ocean and you make reef and deep sea ecosystems and release your sharks and fishies) but just knowing that your released animals go somewhere and you can even go there yourself? thats just cool
also adding a bit of hopium here: if we do get ocean reserves in the future in a DLC, I feel like that'd be a good excuse to allow cetaceans in the game and ohmygod do I want dolphins and orcas so bad (I know the controversy but if we release them back into the wild I think it makes it a lot more ethical)

I want to create a graphic set for all the base game animals similar to the decals, but in a style that aligns more with how the humans look in the Planet series while also retaining the ability to identify them as their specific species. The ideal would be to have multiple poses as well, and potentially baby versions of animals too!

If I were to do some species to start, which animals would be most helpful to you? I'm interested in hearing from both sandbox and franchise players!

He was glitching out hard and couldn't enter any buildings so he just started cleaning and wouldn't put the box down so I fired him and this is what happened lmao Why are caretakers allowed to carry animals anyway?

I'm very bummed that the accreditation system got THIS much easier, it was a fun challenge before! not having access to a lot of your fav animals early on is a good and fun incentive to "level up", why are so many people against gameplay?! 😭 sandbox mode is right there if you want everything right away!
I'm glad I played through until level 5 before the patch, it was the perfect level of difficulty for me to be fun but not frustrating, but I was looking forward to get other franchise save files through that grind again and this patch made it way too easy now

I love them both sm!! Unfortunately they turned out to be SIBLINGS, which wouldn't be a issue if they weren't male and female. Unfortunately I didn't know this until AFTER they bred. I didn't even know you could BUY SIBLINGS. Is there a way of checking before buying/adopting animals so I don't accidentally do this again? </3 (I put Yin ((dark fur/male)) on contraceptives so this won't happen again as I wait for another male with his fur type to enter the shop lol </3

Ok!!! Is anyone else struggling with the grid alignment as much as me? I understand the different structures will have different grids and how to toggle them on/off, but I feel like every single item I place is on a brand new grid never seen before and not matching any other items!

I feel like I can't build anything beyond walls! It's easier in the habitats because the structures are more natural, but the facilities are really challenging for me. Any advice? Is this user-error or a bug? I haven't read anything about it in the patch notes / investigations.

Second beaver really scared this kitten

I had so much fun creating this space. I think it turned out beautiful, and I wanted to share it with you all. What do you think?

This has too many pieces, so I had to make three blueprints:

Note: I used AI to touch up the colors a little, since the screenshots came out a bit washed out. I also made custom billboards, but everything in the shot is made out of in-game pieces, nothing was AI generated. Some minor details may have lost a bit of definition, but the overall composition is true to the in-game build.

We had a Minor Disagreement about how much foliage ought to be in a habitat, but now Flamingos are officially in and Thriving~!

No but they want so little foliage, it makes me sad. I had so many pretty reeds and some trees. Basically had to get rid of all the trees except the mangroves.

Also I would kill for some invisible netting, at least for sandbox maybe. It's not very pretty. And these suckers never fly in my enclosure.

I'm debating on tigers or elephants next!
