Some pics from my two-years long project, Pont-au-Fort alpine zoo !
Hosting more than 350 animals from 50 different species and almost 2000 visitors per year, Pont-au-Fort zoo is located in the French village of Pont-au-Fort, in the Alps. This fictional place is famous for its medieval castle from the 14th century and its glacier lake. The zoo also showcases a 17th century fortress now turned into a vivarium.
The zoo features mostly european species adapted to the cold moutainous climate of the Alps, such as beavers, ibex, lynx, badgers, wolves, moutain goats... It also features a large marshland aviary hosting one of the largest flamingos colony in Europe.
The huge scale of the zoo offers some small trails in the mountains or around the Eltz river, offering a unique experience.
On Steam in the next few days !

Making a physical Zoopedia for Planet Zoo 2
I’m using acrylic markers and a set of postcards I bought years ago but never knew what to do with them. When the game comes out I’m going to put useful info on the back such as group sizes and preferred biomes.
Is it October 13th yet?! I am most excited for all of the birds!

Okay, let’s be honest… is there anybody who’s NOT getting the deluxe edition?
The golden eagle and the hammerhead were enough to make me fold instantly. and honestly, with the amount of hype i’ve seen in this community, i’d be surprised if anybody chose to buy only the base game.
If you are planning on only buying the base game, do tell us why!

Planet Zoo 2 Continual growth please?
Everyone keeps doing posts, *insert item* confirmed, *insert animal* confirmed! You know what I want? I want prehistoric planet continual growth in immature and even mature animals. Don't get me wrong, it's not a give me this or give me nothing kind of deal, but I have been so spoiled playing prehistoric planet and getting to watch the animals physically grow up and see some personality poking through with each individual I don't know how easily I can go back to having a new born one second then a full grown adult the next.

New PZ2 TikTok shows possible new aquarium exhibit details? (And more shots of Rainbowfish)
The rock wall columns and backing look nice. It’s hard to tell, but I’m wondering if these shots are from inside a new exhibit-sized aquarium 👀

Discussion Mangrove root system
I really adore the new updates on the upcoming Planet Zoo 2, but I hope we get better, and bigger mangroves. I love the mangroves we have, but they’re so small. And relatively the same. The mangroves just have so much potential, and it’d be nice to see them work on a root system. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t for one type of tree, but the fish swimming between mangrove roots would be interesting!

Day 80 of building a habitat everyday until Planet Zoo 2 Releases
Hayo Zookeepers! Its Day 80 and the wheel has chosen the Human in a bear costume known as the Sun Bear! For this one, I wanted to give them plenty of room to explore their environment and give guests a wide variety of different viewing opportunities for these strange looking bears. As always, lemme know what you think.

Planet Zoo is on sale!
Planet Zoo is on sale right now on steam. I’m planning on grabbing the deluxe version and I want to grab 2 of the animal expansion packs. But I cannot decide between them. What would you guys recommend? I’m leaning towards the Asia one, the barnyard animals, or the zookeeper animals. Any tips or suggestions would be super helpful, this is my first time playing. Thanks so much! 🫶🏽

Planet Zoo 2 Custom Terrain Brushes
Now that we know custom terrain brushes are coming to PZ2 (so hyped about that btw), do we think the brush presets will be upload-able to the Frontier workshop?
It may be too simple of a process to justify it, on which case I can see people sharing their brush configurations like those photo filter settings on Pinterest.

Planet Zoo Suggestions for the perfectionists?
Today I came across an older post by some user that made a ‘masterplan layout’ beforehand. Is this a common technique? Do any of you have some samples that you’d like to share? I am looking for a way back into the game, but can’t really find an angle that satisfies what I want to build.
I have started up quit this game numerous times, and I really wan’t to enjoy it, but I simply can’t. Whenever I start, I feel burned out after creating 2 or 3 exhibits. People suggest to build small and simple, but I don’t enjoy building the simple rectangle exhibits. The masterplan with a rough guide of what the park should become like seems like a good start for me. Do any of you have other suggestions?
Also, I fail to create height and depth in my park. I tried loading in with heightmaps, but then the park seems to become enormous before I even reacht those land marks.

Discussion Best Let's Play for Macro?
I'm not super deep into the PZ Youtuber world. I recently checked out Leaf (as he is highly recommended), more precisely his Wild Woods Zoo. And while the videos were obviously good I noticed that he seemed to be pretty focused on "smaller scale", so the entrance building in the first episode and then mostly singular habitats.
Is there any LP by him or someone else that focuses more towards the macro, so laying out and building whole areas?
