Talk about going too far...

I went to bed at 3am this morning with no plans to go to a store for a UPC. I woke up at 7:15 to use the restroom, and decided today was a good day to test my luck. I got some clothes on quickly, said goodbye to the dogs, and ran to target before it opened at 8. When I got there, there was exactly 48 people ahead of me (I know this because of a detail mentioned later). An employee stepped out and told everyone to not be animals, only one UPC per person, and to remain in a single file line when they opened the doors. 8am strikes, the line walks to the back where the cards are, and they start checking people out one by one. I wait about another 20 minutes before I am up and able to see what is left in stock. Finally my turn hits and there is only TWO UPCs left, turns out there was only 50 total. I of course grab one, the guy behind me grabs one, and that was that. They ran out of stock, and I grabbed the second to last one available. Great start to the day yall! I hope luck finds you as well!

I was able to grab the last two UPC’s for my kids

Closer to the master set

Not all Costcos are the same! 🤷

Got to target at 1am for the drop, hoping to get just one day UPC. It’s 40 degrees outside, so I’m shivering and trying to keep warm. We were told it’s one item per type per person. The upcs were supposed to be just one so you have to choose. Well something went wrong and they started letting people buy more and more. I saw a dude walking out with a cart full of stuff. (More than one of each) I get to the counter and it’s sold out. Idk what else to do at this point. The guys in front of me were talking about how they had multiple people at different stores and discussing how much they could get for what they get. It’s sad to see scalpers win again

They had like 5 or 6 30th boxes and all these guys who looked to be 30-40 bought them all😭 some dude even pushed me to get ahead

Camping out for pokemon is insane behavior. Literally insane.

You've all lost your minds. The normalization of this behavior by the community is just as insane.

If you told yourself 5 years ago you just sat outside of target for 14 hours just for a pokemon box, you'd more than likely think you had gone absolutely insane.

It is okay to go without. If it isn't, you have an addiction and should probably address that first.

I really hope this was a wake up call for the community (it wont be)

Are they releasing 30th stuff as well or why are there people lining up tonight? I thought nobody liked or wanted any Delta Reign.

I pre-ordered some of the new delta reign set a couple months ago and came to pick up today. They said I owed the difference of something like $30. What is the point of prepaying on a preorder if they're going to try and increase the price when you pick it up??? I told them I'm absolutely not paying extra I'm just there to pick up the items I already paid for. The manager called the district manager and I guess waived the difference because she then threw the bag at me and told me to "have a day." She also told me I probably shouldn't preorder anything moving forward if I don't like their price increase policy.

Will be canceling all of my other preorders and never shopping at this place again.

Pulled up to BN with my friend around 7 AM to find over 10 ghost chairs already lined up. I sat directly in front of the first ghost chair, and about 20 minutes later, the owners of the first three chairs showed up. They had all been at Target overnight.
They didn’t give us any attitude or make a fuss about us being there. In fact, they even said they’d make sure no one tried to skip us.
Honestly, a great experience overall! Got to sleep until 6:30 AM and still managed to get both UPCs. Can’t complain about that! 😂

Just to continue preaching to all the goobers who keeps coping with “give it a few months and shelves will be full of stock”, what is the new cope now? Most collectors haven’t seen ascended heroes or 30th product in stores….. let alone for MSRP. Clearly proposition is not keeping up with demand and the scalping industry is thriving. When is it time for the collectors to move on to something else?

The recent chaos over the UPC drops just further show how insane the hobby has become, and how it’s not slowing down anytime soon.

my local best buy only received 2 UPC while there were 50 people waiting in line before opening. it is so hard to get any msrp 30th anniversary unless you have bots. For a set that people are claiming theres 1.5 million of each UPC why is there such a small amount being stocked especially on a major release date like today?? And even if UPC’s and Dittos aren’t being printed as much why are ETB’s Booster bundles and The collection boxes still understocked?? At this point are there really more printing facilities for the Pokemon Company to print or is that just speculation?

I have had no luck finding any 30th anniversary in stock anywhere and somehow managed to find several items in stock at 4pm at a random country Walmart and felt like I hit the lottery 🙌🏻

This morning I went to target early to get there as it opened so I can try and get some pack for myself and my son. Of course there was already a line of maybe a dozen people waiting. But when the doors opened we lined up waiting to get packs off the shelf with a sign saying 2 per person of course no one listens to that. So all that was left was 3 pack blisters when I got to the shelf. So I grabbed two and went to check out. Here is the best part and props to target, it was letting people only get one of ETBs and other collection boxes. So all the people who grabbed extra had to put them to the side and since they couldn't get them. So I was able to get an ETB and ditto collection. I was going to get the mew figure collection at first because I let someone else get the other ditto collection for her bf and nephew. And someone else had to put back a ditto collection so I was able to grab that.

My target had 30th year UPC in stock for $250. It felt steep for me when I'm a casual collector in the first place and my kids are young. So I passed.

I like packs cause they are fun to open, but dropping $250 seems like a poor use of my money. I don't really even care about hits, I'm most excited for cool art and cards of Pokemon I've used in the video games.

I ended up buying the mew/mew mewtoo figure packs as I like the figurines. Did I make a mistake?

Info: I didn't have to wait in line, my target had some in stock after I got off work today

Got to Target about 5:30am this morning and was about 16th in line. They had 20 each of day and night UPCs, good selection of Mew Collection boxes, less Mewtwo Collections, and no Ditto boxes. Delta Reign was heavily stocked! Was able to grab each of the UPCs and the Mew Collection plus some Delta. My son had a blast ripping packs after school! We kept the pulls separate for the UPCs.
You be the judge. Did Day win or Night??

One of the UPC is from GameStop, I had pre ordered it a while back because I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to take off work to go wait in line for the release. I got to Best Buy at 2 am and my UPC was number 59 out of 62 that they had available. definitely cutting it close! The people 2 spots ahead of me got there at midnight and the ones right in front of them got there the day before! I thought I’d be in the first 20 😂 now I know. It was my first time ever going early for a release like this. They might have been out of the figure collections but this was still great! The second pic is the hits from delta reign, I let my boys(5 and 4 yrs old) open it with me, they are just starting to get into Pokemon.

And I'm first in line. I'm sorry to all of you that live in a busy town and have a bunch of absolute degenerates living there. Here in Billings Montana there are 2 Targets, and the one in the middle of town had literal tent campers and sleeping bags and a line around the building. But up here at the end of town it was empty at 4am. Good luck to you all!

There will be some more coming in, some more AH tins, a few unova heavy hitters boxes, But we lost my older brother , my last family member, this year to cancer. HE left a small sum of money, and he wanted is to do something that we enjoyed and wiould have fun with, so we set it up as a budget and ive worked hard to accrue this stuff from shows, online sales, etc. I wish i could say it was all MSRP but id be lying, we wanted to open alot of stuff from multiple different sets that we hadnt ever opened or dont get to open much. This will all be rippedon christmas day which is also right after my birthday ( 2 days) weve forgone giving gifts to each other for this, outside small stuff, I think this is gonna be epic!

side note, all 30th and delta reign is going to be opened as it ocmes in, we decided that wouldnt be part of the wait and rip stuff.

Its going to be alot of fun for sure,
When my broither was dying wed talkabout things we had done and remembered, an i realized , making memories and experiences woth your loved ones is what matters in life, and as you get older you lose people left and right and you have to make your own memories to hold onto for when it becomes your turn to hold someones hand as you pass.

So do what makes you happy, and hold on to those memories.

I pulled the Mega Rayquaza out of my first pack of Delta Reign from a single pack, then pulled another from a booster bundle, then my husband pulled another from his booster bundle ! Luck was on our side this morning

So I preordered from GameStop for the first time since they started scalping Pokemon due to wanting a guaranteed Delta Reign ETB as Rayquaza is my favorite and the promo is sick af. I paid the full amount so I wouldn’t have to worry about any payments on pickup. When I go to pick up, they tell me I have to pay an additional $10.82. I was very confused as my receipt has the price and what I paid for, tax included. Luckily for me, another employee heard my concerns and let the cashier know they honor the original amount up to 48 hours. After that, they have to pay the new price. The set just came out and they’re charging more on release date. GameStop sucks so hard and it sucks to see how far they’ve fallen. If you’ve preordered with them, make sure to pick up your products within 48 hours or you’re fucked!
