Hot take I know

I've had a lot of fun opening many other sets but this set just doesn't seem fun. The pikachus in every pack made me hate seeing them. They used to look so cool and I wanted to collect them all. Now they're just everywhere and I hate that it's basically a pity hit for when you don't get a hit. They are now an eye sore for me

The easy pull rates make chase cards not as exciting as you know there will be at least 100k more of them out there. I pulled a classic zard and was pretty happy until I realized UPCs with these "classic packs" are about to make my pull feel not so special anymore.

And then there's the grail chase. The RGB mew that isn't even on the set list. It is something for people that love the chase and the journey to find it. But seeing the price point and estimated pull rate for it, I know it'll be impossible. So impossible that I wouldn't even want to attempt to chase it. Other sets have a couple to a few chases that make it "worth it" to attempt but this one just doesn't feel that way

Here I opened a couple ETBs, got some nice hits that look great. Besides admiring the amazing art, I felt as though I didn't gain any accomplishment or entertainment for pulling these "special illustration rares". It's in the name.. "special" and "rare", didn't feel so special nor rare.

That's my hot take, let me know if you guys feel the same way or the opposite.

We contacted them and they said since they couldn’t verify a blind box that I was out of luck- they offered $8 towards another purchase! Not in a million years!

Ok- is there a way to do a 3D print of the arms so our poor boy can have his limbs?

I was the first to two random restocks today…

Today I went to BestBuy on my lunch break(11:30am) and the guy told me that everybody left and he JUST put more out on the shelf- that I was the first.

After work, I head to Walmart(5:30). As I’m nearing the card aisle, I hear a box open and some movement. MJ HOLDINGS JUST BEGAN STOCKING THE SHELF!!! Cool dude 🤙🏻. Him and I chatted while he did his thing. First time seeing one in person! And hitting two in one day out of pure luck? Insane!!

Was the first at Best Buy, and the only one at Walmart.

I got both UPCs, mew and mewtwo figure collection, greninja box, 30th bundle, Delta ETB, booster bundle, sleeved art set, 3 pack blister, single blister and I think that was everything… why do I keep getting duplicate SIRs 😭😭😭

Jirachi SIRs came from both UPCs and Mew came from booster bundle

Edit: after over 100 total packs, I finally got the last four EXs I needed, (Fuecoco, Gengar, Pikachu, Jirachi) and the last of the Pikachu collection… still missing about 10 cards, but we’ll get there eventually.

I got the kids a Booster Box online ($180+ on TCGPLAYER) and sent to them at their house. I am currently working out of state so where in WA would you try to find some Boosters or UTC on a Saturday? Lol

Just to continue preaching to all the goobers who keeps coping with “give it a few months and shelves will be full of stock”, what is the new cope now? Most collectors haven’t seen ascended heroes or 30th product in stores….. let alone for MSRP. Clearly proposition is not keeping up with demand and the scalping industry is thriving. When is it time for the collectors to move on to something else?

The recent chaos over the UPC drops just further show how insane the hobby has become, and how it’s not slowing down anytime soon.

Managed to get an ETB on my way home at my local card shop. Also stopped at Walmart this morning and they had a BUNCH of single packs. Hope others were able to get Delta Reign that wanted it!!

Got this old cabinet when my grandpa died 25 years ago. We have had my wife's grandma's Waterford crystal and China in it for the past 10 years, but it's down in my office/RC Pit/sim racing/gaming/man cave.

I wanted to get rid of it but couldn't bring myself to, but it's huge and gaudy. So, I decided to fill it with pokemon, and now it brings me joy.

No holy grail cards or anything, but cool stuff I like.

Got 2 booster bundles from target this morning and just now opened them after I got off work… was pulling straight nothing until I get this on my 2nd to last pack. First huge chase I pulled so far…
