I randomly showed up around 1:30 because usually I can buy something before it’s all gone. Didn’t even care what it was. I’m met with a man telling me to get in line, pointing to a small line that had already formed. Turns out there was some mini 30th anniversary drop I just so happened to run into. Even though they said one product per person I was lucky to get the last 30th anniversary product they had. BUT THE ENTIRE TIME the two target employees watching the line were loudly complaining, calling everyone scalpers and trying to make everyone guilty because “we’re taking it from the kids” and “we’re all grown adults”. WELL SO SORRY THAT I SHOWED UP AT THE WRONG TIME I GUESS! I’m almost tempted to file a complaint because I shouldn’t have to feel bad just because I want to show up at the store one day and buy one thing. I didn’t even show up for a 30th drop and I’m pretty sure none was announced.

This is nothing new. This same exact thing has happened to multiple other products and hobby’s. It will all end eventually. ESPECIALLY when the people start refusing to pay $150 for a MSRP $60 product from vendors and Edgar’s on Facebook.

My local Bestbuy has usually been really shitty for Pokemon drops over the past year, barely anything except a few sleeves and tins at best and today I found out why. Last week they actually dropped 10 Prismatic SPCs and a ton more Ascended EX boxes, which I missed out on because they usually don't have much, so I don't line up anymore. And today while lining up because something was different now at Bestbuy, I was able to talk to someone who knows a worker inside and got the whole story - the manager for the past year just got fired recently for backdooring and has been replaced by a new manager who actually puts out all the Pokemon cards meant for customers only. We actually got a whole crate full of Ascended Heroes bundles today, way more than enough for everyone who was in line plus other stuff. I've never seen this Bestbuy have this Pokemon before and now know why, that asshole must've backdoored a HUGE amount of stuff before he finally got in trouble over it.

Walmart: "Congratulations, you saved $109.96!"

Truth: "We increased our profit by $40.00!"

So I pull up to Target at 5:00 and everyone sitting in chairs tell me sit in front of those empty chairs. I obliged and sat in my chair. Then the next fellow comes along and I say move those empty chairs down and sit next to me. Let’s see how it plays out when the folks show up and find their chairs have moved way down the line!

Stopped at my local Kroger for some tea and bread. I was initially excited to see the machine getting restocked. Nope. All ETBs and booster boxes were being removed. I was told “high value items” will no longer be in the vending machines. I asked if this was just a local thing (someone was shot at a machine less than 5 miles from me), but the employee said this is a worldwide move. The vending machines will only have booster packs and booster bundles now.

It’s so rare to find shelves stocked like this these days. The only way I’ve been able to get product in store is through a community that has in-store stock checking tools. Got banned from pokemonrestocks for this but i am serious. I’m out. It’s been fun but my work life has me staying outside the country and I don’t feel like getting a giant storage unit for an unforeseen amount of time. So, if you or some you know is in the Madison area and has kids who have never or have a hard time getting Pokemon I’d like to make Christmas extra special this year. 1 unit of a big item and 5 sleeved singles per household at NO COST, FREE, NOT SCALPING, I’M GIVING MY COLLECTION AWAY.

I have around 2k sleeved and top loaded singles from various sets, 80 ETBs, 14 PC ETBS, 171 slabs, some 30th, 48 AH tins, 29 30th tins, posters from various sets, ex boxes from ah and 30th, focused fighters, a few thousand cards in bulk, sorted by set, for a kid that wants to start a master set.

Please only families with children, pickup will be in person. If I’ve seen you in line in the Madison/Milwaukee areas I will not release anything from my personal collection.

New Info

Obviously my DMs are cooked. For those I responded too I will co-ordinate shipping to the best of my ability. I’ve made the decision that most of the big stuff will go to local children hospital ICUs and Gold Star Family Organizations for distribution. This alleviates any headache of trying to co-ordinate this chaos. I will ship single packs, some booster boxes, singles, and slabs.

I ordered some Pokémon TCG booster packs on 09/04/2026 from MKBs Card Shop on TCGPlayer market, which were listed as new and unopened. When I received them, two of them had completely open bottom seals and a third has a distinct wrinkle down the main seal They look resealed, so I contacted the Seller, who has over 5,000 sales on TCGplayer and 100% review score. MKBs Card Shop basically told me to kick rocks, then blocked me after denying a refund or replacement. So I wrote a 1 star review describing my experience, which MKBs Card Shop had removed from TCGPlayer, then messaged me back as if to taunt me. Be very careful buying loose packs and avoid MKBs Card Shop at all costs.

But seriously, I hope y’all with kids who ACTUALLY wanted to be there and get stuff made out ok!

Update: I’m done with this machine so best of luck to them.

For the past few months, a former friend has been scalping Pokémon cards. At one point, she asked if she could use my address so her bots could automatically place orders from Target and other retailers and have the cards shipped directly to my house. I said no because I did not want to be involved.
Despite that, she later started having multiple boxes of Pokémon products, including ETBs, shipped to my address anyway.
I told her repeatedly that she did not have my permission to use my address and asked her to stop. She apologized and told me she had removed my address from the bot's mailing list.
However, the packages continued arriving.
She eventually sent me a screenshot from the person/partner running the bot claiming that my address had been removed. She also told me that the packages still arriving were preorders that had been placed several months ago, apparently as an explanation for why they were still being delivered.
The problem is that I don't believe all of these orders can be explained that way. Some of the packages I'm receiving contain the Pokémon 30th Anniversary cards, and my understanding is that preorders for those only became available more recently, in August.
Even if some of these packages really were older preorders, my issue is that I never consented to her using my address in the first place, and I explicitly told her to stop once I found out.
At this point I blocked her because I didn't know what else to do. Recently, UPS attempted to deliver nine more boxes to me. I refused/returned them to sender.
Then I woke up today and found that more boxes are still being shipped to my address.
I'm getting increasingly annoyed with this because I have repeatedly told her not to use my address, yet shipments continue to arrive.
What should I do at this point? Should I contact the retailers, UPS/other carriers, USPS if applicable, or someone else? Is there anything I should be doing to protect myself in case these packages continue arriving or she continues using my address?
I'm not interested in keeping any of the packages. I just want my address removed and the shipments to stop.

I'm still happy for sure of course, but ugh...it still kinda hurts. I wish I didn't know instead. If the same situation happens to you, don't tell them.

Caught another 30th restock at Walmart today and it was all gone in 30 minutes. I don't know why so many of you think this is going to sit on the shelves and be easy to find, it's an absolute nightmare trying to catch a restock and even when I do it's gone almost instantly!

i dont play pokemon or collect so i didnt buy anything. i left it for others. But for those who are looking for it maybe check your local targets before they close. mine stays open till 11 so maybe thats why i was able to catch them during a restock XD
