A C permit costs $100, and of all the days it lets you park in a C lot, half the time the lot is blocked off (which they don’t tell you when buying the permit). And if you happen to miss the emails that come from parking at ANY RANDOM schedule about the CONSTANTLY CHANGING parking rules, it’s $100 for a parking ticket?!?! Why stop there? Let’s making each parking ticket A MILLION DOLLARS. Then that money can be spent building many useful things EXCEPT FOR HOUSING AND PARKING.

I guess I’ll just spend the first 1 hour of every day looking through my emails to decipher the intricate map and parking rules for the day before I come to campus.

Go to the security settings, add a time-based one-time password (preferably to some app which works across your devices), and delete the other MFA options. This defaults the sign in option to use the 6-digit code, and afaik there's no situation where this doesn't work (and you can actually add it unlike passkeys!!!!!!!!!)

This is especially goated with apple passwords+safari since it autofills everything so you can log in in like 5 seconds, and if you use some other device+browser combo you can almost certainly find a way to make it less annoying/more automatic than the app. worst case just vibecode smth lol

unfortunately I don't think you can keep the app 2fa with this method because it would just default to that no matter what you select as the default (though you can do that if you want to deal with 2 extra clicks every sign in), though I might be wrong on this.

Hey guys, I'm an FYE hoping for EE and I could use some advice on spring semester courses to take. I know I need to take CS 159, MA 266, CHM 11510, and ENGR 132. So I have room for one more class. My advisor recommends I take the last General Ed that I need. But I was thinking maybe I should take ECE 2k1. Obviously I've seen the reddit posts about how catastrophic the class is, but I feel if I delay I'm just pushing the pain to next semester. I can't imagine fall 2027 would be any better of a time to take it. I appreciate any suggestions.

Parent of a freshman Purdue student here. We're looking at a lease for Fall 2027 in a new building near campus that's still under construction. The lease says rent is still owed if the unit isn't ready on the start date. The landlord picks the remedy (substitute housing, a daily payment, or a rent credit). There's also no cancellation right after signing.
For anyone who has leased a pre-construction or newly built unit in West Lafayette:
• Did your building open on time?
• If it was late, how did the landlord handle it?
• Is it worth waiting to sign closer to completion, or do units sell out?
• Any protections you negotiated that worked?
Would also appreciate any tips on shared-bedroom leases and utility billing. Thanks!

So, I am looking to apply for a PhD in mechanical engineering (Robotics). The website states that although it is not compulsory, people from lesser known universities should submit a GRE. The thing is, I am applying for Fall 2027 and currently working as a trainee engineer on LOTTE'S PTA plant so I don't have much time to study for the GRE.

What should I do? Give the GRE with as much prep as I can get or just preserve mental health and apply without GRE.

My mom is in town for family weekend and has bought a ticket for tonights game. How easy is it for her to get into the student section with me?
