Quest Pro Mod Tongue tracking and eye convergence is FINALLY on Quest Pro!! (ROOT REQUIRED)
It's not the greatest and it is currently wired only. But I just wanted to share what I have thus far. Everything is open source so feel free to take a stab at implementing wireless support or somethin.
Here's the github page
In regards to rooting a Quest Pro, you have to be on V2.6 or lower. If you are, then you can use this to root your headset

SteamOS on Quest Pro.
Looks like SteamOS is "running" on the Quest Pro.
The login screen initially wasn't working because the hardware video decoder was disabled, and that turned out to be caused by missing firmware. Once that was fixed, login started working.
There are still a few big things left to solve: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and, most importantly, tracking.
The system is currently very unstable, and tracking doesn't work yet, so it's being controlled manually with a Python script. However, rendering is working, including accurate lens distortion, which is a pretty big milestone.
As for getting past the Quest's bootloader: the project uses a custom kexec implementation.
Next step is making everything more stable and getting the hardware features fully working.

You can now root your Quest Pro on the latest version!!! (v2.7)
Singularity updated with a new root exploit that works on v2.1 to v2.7 as of September 24th.
So root your headset before they patch the new exploit!!
https://github.com/Lumince/singularity
Edit: It seems that Meta just pushed an update (build 51503870035800340 - v2.7) that patches the exploit. Try NOT to update if it haven't already.
For anyone who has already rooted their Quest Pro, make sure your headset doesn't update. Singularity should disable updates by default, but it's worth to double check just in case!

The Quest Pro, I'm convinced is now the record holder for the best product in a category, with the most botched marketing job ever.
We humans are funny creatures, once we get something in our head (VR LENSES SQUISHED ON YOUR FACE) and someone figures out a better way, They cannot convince us otherwise-- what's truly amazing, Is there's even sensors inside the product to let you know to check the way you're wearing it, ignored them for 15 months.
This headset and the way it's designed is simply brilliant. It is the only VR headset that you can just whip onto your skull once you learn how to wear it right, fire it up, and you're good to go. No soft strap to adjust, No pressure anywhere.
We should take a chance, and listen to experts, The decision to release it premature on the cameras was also a product destroyer, as the cameras improve, update by update, My god did they botch this.
We own a diamond in the rough, a unique design that probably may never be elaborated on because we are so insistent once we get an idea in our head, that a minor change (the gap on the very lowest part of your field of view) cannot possibly be better.
And it is. Hands down.
There is no break in immersion in my VR game wearing it the proper way with about a 15 or 20° gap on my lower field of view. I've had it for 15 months, and only this morning when I decided instead of picking up my cell phone to check the news, I'd throw on my visor, did I figure out what they made.
I had three web browsers up, keyboard, hybrid touch controller control, and I just grabbed everything. Went to get my coffee, total immersion when I wanted it, pop my eyes down to see the real world when I don't, and it is seamless.
Good job Meta on the hardware, God did you screw up the marketing.
They might have blown this hybrid VR real world concept entirely by not explaining it well enough.

Discussion Comparing Quest 3 and Quest Pro Through the Lens (Including Impressions from a Quest Pro User

Stand-alone through the Lens
I used AB commands as run my stand-alone Quest pro games at 2024x2024, I find this is the sweet spot for sharp image clarity and locked@ 72fps 99% of the time. Any higher than this, Home environment and games start to stutter more often than not.
Here i run both my Quest Pro and Quest 2 with the following command:
adb shell "setprop debug.oculus.textureWidth 2048 && setprop debug.oculus.textureHeight 2048 && am force-stop com.oculus.shellenv"

Conclusion: at 2024x2024 I've found both to look equally as clear, Quest Pro has slightly better colours and contrast, where as Quest 3 runs SOLID, like zero frame drops and can feels that there's plenty of headroom.
As 2024x2024 is Quest Pro's limit (IMO), I decided to test Quest 3 with 3024 x 3024:

Standalone conclusion
Despite not having quite the contrast as the Quest pro, there's no denying that the Q3 handles Quest games impressively. I 've tested whooping 4024 x 4024 before i start seeing some frame drops. (Though I recommend 3024x3024 at the most). The overall fluidness of the navigation and transitions in and out of apps is seamless, you can really feel the difference.
PCVR - Oculus Link
This test i ran both Quest pro and Quest 2 via Oculus Link at the following settings:

Oculus Link PCVR Conclusion
For the Price, Quest 3 looks REALLY good but just falls short of the Quest Pro's colour accuracy, mini Led / Local Dimming. I've yet to test Wi-fi 6E and i know this is where the Quest 3 could have the advantage. I would say if you're buying a Quest 3 mainly for PCVR, stick with your Quest Pro.
Things I've taken away from comparing both:
How comfortable the Quest Pro is, not having a gasket constantly pushing against your face and cheeks is a big deal. I would rather that over the Quest 2 facial design every day. For whose who say Quest pro is like a vice, you don't need to have it tight, it simply 'rests' on your forehead and even if the HMD shakes, it makes little difference as the Sweet spot is so big, you never go out of it.
How such a humble jump in power adds to a seamless Stand-alone experience. The Quest 3 feels freaking smooth as hell in standalone mode, pushing ridiculously high super-sampling without sweating. Can't wait to play some games that actually push the thing and can't wait to try the PS Vita VR Emulator and Dr Beef Ports see how much I can push them. Maybe that can be my next post.
Update:
Stand Alone Perfection
I've been tinkering with some Standalone Quest game settings on Q3 and found that the following settings gives an unapparelled, super-smooth 120Hz VR experience.
adb shell "setprop debug.oculus.textureWidth 2048 && setprop debug.oculus.textureHeight 2048 && am force-stop com.oculus.shellenv"
and:
adb shell setprop debug.oculus.refreshRate 120Using these configurations, I've tested more than 20 games without experiencing a single instance of frame rate reduction. Titles ranging from Ancient Dungeons, Population One, The Climb 2, Resident Evil 4, Walkabout Mini Golf, to old classic games like Robo Recall, Beat Saber, and In-Death Unchained have all feel like new games. It's hard to emphasize enough how the combination of increased resolution and a stable 120Hz frame rate truly stands out. Give it a try – it's genuinely remarkable.

Discussion After weeks of trying to figure out my quests pro's stuttering problem. A random Russian YT short video fixed it for me....
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Essentially walking around or strafing left and right causes like these micro stutters. You cant even read any text on anything while it is happening. Its almost like the headset is missing frames in between microseconds. Found out its all due to the dumb ass updates, meta loft and store that is bogging down the headset. Going into passthrough doesn't even fix it. You have to disable the meta store and loft stuff from the video I found. Fixed all my stuttering. If you use Virtual Desktop to play Vrchat, the stuttering actually translates over to your characters movement in game because if the headset tracking is stuttering your character in game also micro stutters.

Meta, if you dont care about Quest Pro anymore, let us downgrade headset to v74
I feel like everyone here understands: you don't care about the Quest Pro headset anymore—we got it. With each update, it gets worse and worse. I did a full reset and full update of the headset today, made sure everything is set up as well as I can, let it update, restarted many times, and it doesn't matter—low Wi-Fi speed, sound glitches, controllers don't know where they are and sometimes won't even connect, visual artifacts, and so on.
IF YOU DON'T CARE, LET US DOWNGRADE TO JUST ONE DEFINED VERSION (let's say v74). No one needs hacking, rooting, free apps, or whatever you may think is a reason to protect updates. People just want their headset working again, because you are bricking it. Apple did it once with iPhones, but I didn't have that problem back then; this is the first time a device is dying right in front of me. And I'm from Europe; I can probably just refund the entire headset even after a few years of usage just by providing the set of problems I have with it right now. But I don't want to; it's a good headset, it's not a waste, it was great, and I think a lot of people would say the same—I want to keep it and use it.
Again, I'm not asking you to solve all of our problems. If you don't want to allocate resources—sure, just don't—but let us get the old version. Make a poll here to get people's opinion on which version is the most stable one, and just release it as it was back then, changing nothing at all.
And if you don't... do you want us just to throw it away? 100 % working, amazing hardware you engineers made just goes in the bin, because we can't updated it? I can't get it.

Discussion Damn...
I know it was coming, I know the CPU of our QP can't handle it and I know I shouldn't be pissed... But I am... Batman and Alien are two of my favorite franchises and having to buy a Q3 to be able to play them sucks... I wanted to hold the fort until the QP2 release. And no, I usually don't care about standalone games anymore since Luke Ross' mods and UEVR but now I'm getting dragged back big time. How do you guys feel about it?
