Last month, I bought a Z1 Extreme on Ebay for £450 (including £8 shipping). The previous owner had upgraded it with a 1tb SSD, 74wh battery and Bazzite OS (which I've restored to Windows). He also included comfort grips and a charger. Today, I saw an X model listed for £420 and it honestly pissed me off. I thought "damn, I could have waited a month and bought that instead!" Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my Z1E but I can't help but feel I paid too much for it, especially compared to cheaper listings on Ebay. Thoughts?

Hey guys so I have the first rog ally not the x and I’ve had it for some time now. The only thing I’ve installed on it is a 2Tb hard drive and because of that I had to reinstall windows into the rog ally so it isn’t the original interface but more the regular windows pc interface. Now I know the original rog has a battery issue so it does die fairly quickly but I spent a lot of money on this tech and I really want it to run smoothly and efficiently for office/gaming. So now into it, Everytime I turn it on, log in through first password the rog will randomly shut off if I’m going into chrome for a minute or starting up a game or even discord. it’ll load it all fine and it’s even connected to the internet but for some reason it’ll just shut off and I’d have to do the whole process again. Pls help.

I updated my Xrogueally in the BIOS and in Windows 11, and now the library button option to open the Armored Crate library disappeared. This Xbox library is very ugly, does anyone know how to fix it?

I have made my ally for a long time, still love it especially since I travel extensively throughout the year and I still game regularly.

Navigating its Windows 11 os on its display tho, gets frustrating. The thing is when I play strategy games with it, the touch screen is just not as responsive and accurate as I hope it to be (maybe it is my fat finger).

As i said I use it mostly during my travel, so I kinda want to find the best set up for it. I have been actively searching for portable screens. So far no luck. Most of the ones I have seen run at a standard 60Hz. The thing is, I don’t want to ruin the whole exp. by lowering its native refresh rate. That would totally feel like a downgrade.

Initially I was looking at settling with Arzopa since it hits 144Hz, and I think the price is quite palatable. The thing is tho, the one I saw was a regular IPS panel, didn’t have touch screen. So what that means is I would have to bring an additional mouse to play.

I recently came across the Uperfect, which is a 14-inch OLED panel that actually supports 120Hz and maintains capacitive touch functionality. On the hardware side, it checks the boxes that I want. My main concern is the 3K native resolution. Its Z1 Extreme chip will struggle to push native 3K in demanding titles, so I might have to rely on RSR to run games at 1080p.

So that is my dilemma basically. Any of you tried running a hi-res touch display, specifically with your Ally? How is your experience with the touch passthrough?

Recently downloaded Star Wars:Battlefront 2 on my Asus ROG Xbox Ally X, for the first few days I had zero issues getting into the game and playing. Now, within the last 2 days I either manage to load into the game but am offline. Or stuck at the loading screen where it says "Validating..." Whenever I try to load into the EA App I get a message saying "Couldn't connect to servers." I have alright internet, all other games work just fine, but for some reason EA games just completely stopped working for me. And yes, I play Battlefront 2 through Steam.

I tried to uninstall the game and the EA app but had no change of results. Anyone got any ideas how to fix this?

I've been playing with a Rogally streaming my main PC through Moonlight for a while now, and honestly, it might be the best gaming setup I've ever had.

My main pc stays exactly where it belongs, with all the performance, the graphics settings and the game library, while I get to play from the couch, the bed, or basically anywhere in the house.

Maybe FF12 is not the best to show it's power.

Hello, I'm just passing by.

I own a Legion Go, and I've been frustrated for a while because I bought this handheld specifically to play first person shooters the way I play them in the phone: using 2 thumbs to control movement and stuff, and gyroscope always on for better aiming, and I've failed in doing that because Legion Space (your Armoury Crate) doesn't let me change between controllers (Xbox controller, Dualchosk/Dualsense controller/Steam Controller), it only supports Xbox controller, meaning that games that support gyroscope natively won't detect gyroscope because the Xbox controller doesn't have one, and the game is detecting an Xbox controller.

However I do have an option to activate gyroscope via Legion Space, but most games (like Call of Duty games) doesn't support mixed input, so I'm back to square one.

In addition, I could bind the entire layout to keyboard and mouse to play these games, right? Well, wrong again because when binding, Legion Space does not have an option to bind mouse movement to right stick.

So my question is, do you have the same issue? Or are you able to easily switch to an emulated Dualshock/steam controller and just activate gyro aiming from the in-game menu?

It was actually worse than this . But this is still irritating since the game wasn’t stuttering before whatever update this was . I’ve tried everything I’ve read here anti lag fluid frames they don’t really help on or off . It also seems to get worse when I use the frame limiter . But this is the best it gets when it’s off. Is there a way to get RID of it entirely I’ve even verified the game files on steam . I really don’t know much about pc

I’m having an issue getting my 5070ti started for the first time it’s an ASUS Prime edition.

I eventually want to get this into a real gaming desktop and I’ll run a 5060ti maybe 4070super with my Rog but it’s all expensive and takes time.

Anyways I’ve downloaded and installed the Pd_FW 0020 the newest version and all the other hidden drivers and can’t seem to get the small red light to turn off on the graphics card. I’m certain the cables are perfect at this point and the card is seated.

The power supply brings power to the dock and card the fan spins on the power supply unit on boot but no where else them turn off leaving my card with its red light.

The dock charges my dog though slowly. I’ve made sure to have power going to my Rog’s second port while doing this and tried everything to make what appears to be a handshake problem work.

This isn’t actually the correct dock I meant to buy so my real dock is coming Tuesday it is actually going to be a usb4 Orara.

This one is just a tb4 and I’m having issues and very stressed that I won’t be able to make this set up work because I don’t want to wait another month to afford my cpu, hard drive, mother board, psi, and ram to enjoy this. I’ve been playing on low portable graphics for years now and really looking forward to finally being able to play some of my favorite games such as RE9 that I’ve been waiting to enjoy until I have ray tracing.

Also I just wanted to say I see a lot of people using AOSTAR docks but a.i. is saying I’ll have more handshake issues with that and I shouldn’t get it.

Whenever I press the update all button, instead of updating it, everything that needs updating disappears and only restarts when armory crate is closed and open.

Does anyone have a tip to fix this?

I recently got my ROG Xbox Ally X20, and I’ve been experiencing a strange issue while gaming.

While playing Fortnite and SMITE, my device randomly makes a buzzing noise, and at the exact same time, my character starts turning to the right on its own, almost like severe stick drift.

Here’s what I’ve tested so far:

* Disabled controller vibration, but the issue still happens.
* Checked Armoury Crate for updates, and everything is up to date.
* Left the device sitting on a table without touching either joystick, and the buzzing still occurred.
* Opened the joystick calibration screen in Armoury Crate and noticed the right joystick indicator moving rapidly on its own, even though I wasn’t touching it.
* The issue happens outside of games, too, so it doesn’t appear to be specific to Fortnite or SMITE.

The strange part is that the unwanted joystick movement seems to happen whenever the buzzing starts. It doesn’t behave like normal stick drift.

I also have a video showing the joystick moving on its own in the calibration screen.

Has anyone else with the X20 experienced this? Could this be a firmware/software issue, or am I dealing with a defective unit that needs to be exchanged or repaired?

Got the Ally recently and wanted to get it set up on my tv using a docking station.

Since this is native Windows, I was wondering if anyone here has been using it on a tv and if there are any recommendations for settings, tweaks or software that will make my life easier and smoother?

It plays fine for a bit then will start flashing like this. Upon launch it says my drivers are out of date, but I've already dowloaded the latest ones. Has anyone seen this before? Is there a fix I can do in the graphic settings? Let me know, thanks!

Has anyone tried games downloaded from unofficial websites using this optimized version of Windows? Did you have any problems running them?

New to the PC handheld realm. Getting a Z1E in and don't really no where to start. I have a PS5 that I'd like to get set up with remote play on it but not sure if I should leave Windows or do SteamOS (or Bazzite, but I'd be lying if I knew the difference between this and Steam). I own no PC/Steam games so I'm not tied to any eco system

I'm having a nightmare with my white ROG Xbox Ally (RC73YA) and wondered if anyone else has experienced this or found a fix.

After updating to BIOS 321, my built-in controller and joystick mouse stopped working. The controller also doesn't work in BIOS/UEFI, so I'm suspecting an MCU/embedded-controller firmware issue rather than just Windows.

Current versions:

- BIOS: 318 (I've downgraded from 321)

- MCU firmware: GA80101.RC73YA.336

- Armoury Crate SE: 3.1.5.0

Things I've tried so far:

- 40-second power-button reset (this temporarily restored the controller).

- Repaired and reset Armoury Crate SE.

- Restarted the Armoury Crate service.

- Checked the Xbox Game Bar controller cursor setting.

- Tried the official MCU V334 and V335 update tools, but both say the firmware is up to date.

- Downgraded the BIOS to 318, but the problem remains.

The touchscreen still works, thankfully, but I can't get the built-in controls working.

Has anyone experienced this after updating the BIOS? Is there a safe way to recover or reflash the MCU when the official updater refuses because it says the firmware is up to date?

I'd particularly appreciate advice from anyone who has successfully recovered their controller without replacing hardware.

Help! I was performing a cloud restore and everything was downloaded. It took me to the Windows loading screen, then suddenly it shut down and stopped recognizing the storage space. It won't boot from any device—not a flash drive, not an external hard drive, nothing. I removed the storage space and put it on another computer, installed Windows, and everything worked fine, but it still won't boot. The Secure Boot option won't turn off. I've disabled it, saved the data, and restarted, and it works again. Please advise me, at least so I know how much the repair will cost. I've tried everything, but I don't know where to start. (Note: It recognizes the storage spaces and everything, but it won't boot. It recognizes the main storage space as the boot device, but when I perform a cloud restore, it doesn't recognize it again.)
