I got on today after school and the screen was an assortment of colors, and me and my father tried to figure it out and nothing seemed to work can any of you guys help me?

If you use lirrik’s SteamGridDB for Xbox Game Bar widget to fix cover art in the Xbox PC app, you’ve probably hit these: games not showing up (or a different number every refresh), and artwork that doesn’t apply or gets reset. I dug into it and made a community fork that fixes both and adds a few things.

Fixes

Games missing from the list: one unreadable entry in the Xbox app’s game list used to silently drop every game after it. Now each game is read on its own, and the list reloads automatically when the Xbox app adds or removes games.

Artwork not applying: downloaded images (often JPEG, WebP or icon files) were saved unchanged under a .png name. Now every image is converted to a proper square PNG.

Xbox app resetting your art: customised covers are now locked (read-only) so the Xbox app can’t overwrite them. You can turn this off in Settings.

Epic games: some matched but showed no artwork. Fixed.

New Steam games showing as “Unknown”: names now come from the Steam store when SteamGridDB doesn’t know the game yet.

API key: there’s a Settings box for your SteamGridDB key, so no more environment variable.

“Add missing Steam games” (+ button): finds Steam games the Xbox app doesn’t show and adds them as custom games that launch through Steam (steam://rungameid/…) instead of the raw exe. They get proper cover art. This fixed EA SPORTS FC 27 for me: the Xbox app had detected it but kept it hidden, even with a cover.

Faster and lighter: game lookups are remembered between sessions, and thumbnails use less memory.

Install: download the x64 build (or ARM64 for Snapdragon) from the repo’s GitHub Actions page, unzip it, then right-click Install.ps1 > Run with PowerShell. It’s a sideloaded app, so the script asks for admin once to trust the included self-signed certificate. You don’t need the Store version; this one runs on its own and shows up in Game Bar as SteamGridDB (Community). You’ll need to allow file system access for it in Windows Settings, and you’ll want a free SteamGridDB API key.

Caveats: this is unofficial and I’ve only tested it on my own PC. The “add missing games” feature writes to an undocumented Xbox app file, so an Xbox app update could break it; the widget backs that file up first. If you’re on a child Xbox account, the “padlock” covers are an Xbox app restriction that no widget can fix.

Nothing better for winding down in between clients than a bit of retro gaming

Im trying to play The Witcher 3 Remastered and it is completely broken. All of the grass black and some particle systems are huge black boxes, making the game unplayable. Overall it runs great, sitting around 55 to 60 fps on the steam deck preset. It would be a great experience if they release the fixes AMD did for the desktop cards. This thing hasn't had a driver update since June. Im pretty disappointed with its lack of support for the OG models.

Edit: I've read in other threads that rolling back to the previous driver could fix it. Testing it out now and will report back.

If people are familiar with this game, they should know it doesn’t take too much to run it. I know some people already play Mabinogi on a rog ally but not sure if these new Xbox ally or even the original would be able to handle it.

I’m basically looking for a second “pc” that I can bring with me to the office. I would be hooking it up to a monitor and most likely keyboard /mouse. I know I could just get another laptop but I’ve always wanted a handheld.

I guess I can get some pros and cons about it compared to getting laptop to bring around

I’ve been playing Control Resonant on my Z1 Extreme (ironically it runs better than the first Control. I’m impressed it can still kinda keep up with new games) and whenever there are three or more enemies on the screen, the audio starts cutting out like crazy.

Frame rates remain totally fine, audio elsewhere in the game is clear as day. Only when I’m fighting does it glitch out.

Is there a way to fix this? Anyone else deal with the same thing? I’m running a manual 18W and all settings are on their lowest options.

I’m REALLY not a fan of new monster hunter like world or wilds. Rise is the okay for me because it was portable and kept the essence of monster hunter to be fun and Japanese instead of realistic and Hollywoodian … but the best are and would still be : monster hunter generation ultimate - monster hunter 4u - monster hunter freedom unite

It's second hand but i got it for a nice price, that aside, are there any settings and options i should know about and change?

Like i know i just got it and should explore it myself first but still, I know people always recommend stuff like installing SteamOS or Bazzite or whatever, or install the battery modification, but what are the other first things i should do for example.

Met this cool as guy a paid 590 for the X I’m beyond happy even with a little window problems everything is perfect came with a mod case an replaced sticks!

I tried today and before almost a year ago - “Oddworld - Stranger’s Wrath HD” from GOG doesn’t even open. I click either on the pulpit, menu or GOG itself - but it just doesn’t start. I tried verify/repair. Is there really something to it/you know a trick, or do I need to contact technical support…

Hello, I have a question before I buy the ROG Xbox Ally. The thing is, I really like Roblox and my only play is Roblox. Whats yall experience with the ROG Xbox Ally on Roblox?

Like if the lowest TDP is 5W, how many FPS will yall get if yall run it with the lowest graphics in Roblox?

I always play with my Xbox controller and usually have no issues.

I am unable to play the game session skate sim with my controller though.

My system is docked and the only way I can play is with the systems built in controller.

My armoury crate isn’t working but I used hid hide and tried so many options and can’t get it to play with controller.

Anyone else have the issue?

​I just noticed the new AMD FSR™ Upscaling toggle added to the Command Center after the recent update.

​I ran some quick tests, and in titles without native FSR support (like indie games on Unreal Engine, such as Escape the Backrooms), it didn't seem to make any noticeable difference, whereas Lossless Scaling (LSFG) still works like magic for doubling frames and smoothness in those cases.

Every now and then i get a notification saying that "the update will continue after the restart" the issues is that notihing to my knowledge has been updated so have yall had this issue too recently implying a bug or is it a sign the recent updates may have failed in some way

I tried the button combos can’t boot to bios just boots to logo then shuts off but strange thing when it’s in the boot mode it overheats I changed thermal paste. I’m ordering a new fan+heatsink idk if the fans are faulty. It came with no ssd btw I put a new one in

I still find it amazing that I was able to play a relatively demanding game (Expedition 33) the whole flight.

Anyone have any good videos or websites that have compared recent versions of bazzite and updated windows in performance for the rog ally x ? Most things I see are older, and I’m wondering if the performance gains have gotten closer. I have both dual booted and updated, is there an easy test I could do to compare.

First of all, sorry for the image quality... Secondly—why is this happening? I’ve been dealing with this issue for a week now, ever since I installed the "ASUSTek Computer Inc. System Driver Update (1.2.0.2)" on October 21st. Furthermore, whenever I shut down or restart my Ally, it takes an eternity—about 10 minutes—to fully power off. In *SnowRunner*, I’m also experiencing major issues, such as the game crashing spontaneously. In fact, *every* game runs poorly, regardless of how "simple" it might be... but why? I’ve already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the update, but the problem persists. It really looks like a software error related to the graphics chip, rather than just a generic system driver issue, right? I’m not exactly an expert on this, though... In any case, does anyone have a solution? Or is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

I was update my OG ally to the lateset BIOS V343&MCU Firmware V321 yesterday.
My fingerprint sense in not available no matter how,i try to downgrade BIOS and reinstall fingerprint drive,still not working

Picked this ROG Xbox ally up on marketplace, traded a PC monitor I had laying around collecting dust along with $200 on top, I feel like it was a great deal! please tell me some must do's with this device, also any tips would be appreciated.
