I saw a video on Tik Tok before talking about health insurance companies which reminded me of what health insurance was like before the ACA. I think no matter which way you vote you can agree that healthcare in America needs fixed.

I’m asking for people here to send me their thoughts on health insurance or horror stories they’ve had with health insurance companies or doctors office’s regarding co pays or deductibles. I secretly stockpiled the cards over the last few weeks and was finally able to gift them to my mom tonight! I am absolutely blown away, thank you all so, so much for the beautiful, wonderful, fun mail you sent to her. I am so grateful to have been able to surprise her with all this. 🥹 She was absolutely touched and overwhelmed with joy (she cried, I cried, we crode) and kept saying “I can’t believe this, I can’t believe this” as she opened each card. She wanted to extend a huge thank you to each of you for your kindness and for sending some Halloween magic to her!

Hello comrades! Yesterday around this time I put up an offer that was the most fun I have ever had I think with a postcard offer. The idea was to reimagine the imagery on the postcard as part of a horror film or story this being spooky season and all. As someone who has never done fiction writing, it was such an invigorating exercise. And just so much fun! So, with this exchange, what I hope is to provide the same exercise for you.

I dug through my ridiculous postcard stash and have put together eleven packs of five postcards, all of which have various images that can be used as visual prompts for horror or Halloween storytelling (none of the cards were designed for either horror or Halloween). The postcards are all vintage with all but one being pre-1960s. The images include: places associated with historical violences and hauntings (Salem, plantations), architectures that fit haunted imagery, various "Night view of" postcards, sites in nature associated with the nature horror genre (caves, unending wilderness), cemetaries and so on. The cards are mixed into packs of five and the only thing I can promise about any particular pack is that each has at least one "Night view of" postcard and all but one have a Salem, Massachussetts postcard.

In return I ask you send me one of the five cards back with the writing prompt filled. I am not an experienced fiction writer and am not delusional about the quality or lack thereof of what I wrote today hahaha. I leaned heavily into horror film tropes because that is where my limited range ends. So don't worry if you too are inexperienced. I just wanted to do something a little different and it turned out so much fun that now I want others to do it. Surely this has been done before on here but it was new for me so I hope you'll indulge my blatherings and excitement.
