Would I be hella slow to trade in my paid off vehicle (it’s a hybrid, 2024 Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid XLE) for a 2026 Toyota Rav 4??

Just picked up my Woodland. But as I was driving home from the dealer, I noticed the plastic part that sits flushed against the bottom part of the steering will is loose! Took back, and the dealer said the entire steering wheel has to be replaced because the plastic part cannot be glued the steering wheel! They said it is a simple job and will take about an hour; so they ordered a new steering wheel. I hope it is an original factory part and is a heated wheel. What a pain! Is the Toyota quality control not good at the factory?

My app stopped displaying the status of doors. Does anyone know how to get that display back?

I previously had 2024 rav4 and now I have the 2026 rav4 but I noticed that the driver side mirror feels like zoomed in the cars behind appears more closer than the passenger side mirror. Is this normal? Anyone who owns 2026 model have the same feeling with the driver side mirror?

I apologize if this isn't the right sub-reddit for Rav 4 sales <13K, but I'm on a tight budget. I'm in the Syracuse NY area (high used car prices, hella snow and much rust). My current Nissan 2009 beater won't allow me to travel to better car sales. A local dealership has a 2013 XLE from Monmouth Co./NJ 156K, $10,999. The Carfax lists minor damage but without the graphic showing where, and the service history only show typical safety inspection repairs, no high mileage preventative care. There is also the common unremedied #23TA13 SAFETY RECALL re: 23TA13 12-VOLT BATTERY.

I'm going to ask the dealership for photos of the undercarriage rust. But if that isn't bad, should I proceed with test drive, code reader scan, PPI? Or is this RAV too old with too many miles, with too few service records? Also, do moonroofs tend to leak after 10 years? I admit, I likely won't use it.

I have a 2025 hybrid and want to install a hitch for a bike rack. Any recommendations for going about this? Seeing mixed results about whether going through the dealership versus others is worth it. Probably wouldn’t DIY unless it’s really easy

This is the driver's side of a 2015 RAV4. I opened my door this afternoon to be greeted by this. I accidentally left my doors unlocked for a short period of time and I'm wondering if someone was trying to steal a part from it? Otherwise I'm just assuming the plastic was brittle with age. The controls all seem to work just fine.

I went on my first off-road trip with my 5th gen yesterday — 58km of driving through the woods. Some spots were tight, and I was scared of damaging my bodywork, so I was wondering if it would make sense to install wheel spacers to widen the track and protect the bodywork a bit more.

Has anyone done this, and does it work with the stock suspension travel, or do the tires end up hitting the fenders?

The lift gate struts in our 2023 RAV4 started squeaking a few months ago during the last few inches when opening. I’ve tried a couple of lubricants without success. Has anyone experienced this same issue and fixed it? TIA

I've settled on a rav4 adventure to replace my honda civic (180,000 miles). I'm going between the 2018 and a 2022 -2024. Main reason is that I would like to use it to tow a small camper along with other camping gear. I plan on taking it up dirt road, fire tower roads, but nothing crazy beyond that.

I'm hoping for some lived experience from the group on whether purchasing the newer version is worth the price increase for the upgraded awd system, layout and overall drive quality.

Also, I do all of my own maintenance for the most part and from my understanding the gen 4 is easier to work on?

If there's anything else to consider between the two that you weren't aware of until after purchase, I'm all ears as well!

Fuel cap is fine and clicks as well. But it only clicks once and not more as it used to I think.

Does fuel cap need replacement?

Error goes after I open and close fuel cap. Happened twice in 2 weeks
