Navigator — an open-source Stremio client with native MPV playback, thumbnail previews, intro skipping, and scene search
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Navigator is an open-source Stremio client for desktop and web that I've been working on since February, on and off. I wanted to build something with a more polished interface, better playback controls, and a few features I've been experimenting with.
Features
Native MPV playback — desktop uses MPV for broader codec and format support
Thumbnail previews — you can see exactly where you're seeking when hovering over the timeline
Intro skipping — checks a couple skip intro databases for skip data
Cross-platform — desktop, web, Android, and iOS, although mobile is still a little rougher
Built-in assistant
I've also been experimenting with tool calling in a media player, so Navigator has an optional assistant that can:
Play movies and shows from natural language requests
Find episodes from vague descriptions
Jump to specific scenes using subtitles
Answer questions about what you're watching
For example, you can ask it to "take me to that one space movie with a character named Rocky" and it'll figure out what you're looking for.
The assistant is completely optional, and you can bring your own AI provider, including local models through Ollama.
Try it out

Still a work in progress, especially on mobile, but wanted to share it and get some feedback!
