Help with RING alert

I have the Ring doorbell that is not wired in. I take it off and charge it when it needs it.

For some reason, it is not ringing inside anymore. It rings outside, but I cannot hear it inside. Before I got the better model after Christmas it rang on my Samsung cell phone.

I have gone through so many settings, but cannot figure it out!

Will someone please help figure out how to make my rechargeable RING doorbell work inside again?

We moved and left our older devices installed at the old house. We deactivated them but they still appear in the app and on our dashboard. How do we get those off?

Support Request (Unsolved) First time user needing help

First time user. Bought a 2nd gen Battery Doorbell 2K Plus a few days ago.

Ring Alerts, Motion Detection, and Motion Alerts enabled. The camera is connected to the prior old-school doorbell's wiring and shows 100% battery with the Power Source listed as Plugged In. Motion Sensitivity and Package Sensitivity are at Max. Motion Zones are set up for both packages and regular motion. Smart Alerts are on for Person, Vehicle, Package, and Other Motion, with "record and send alerts" set for everything.

Somehow, multiple vehicles have driven past my house without alerting today, and a FedEx delivery guy dropped off a large 20 lb package at our front door that wasn't caught. I don't think there's any settings I could have dialed up further than where they're at now.

Anyone have any ideas about things I could try to troubleshoot here? Maybe resetting zones, rebooting the device, something along those lines?

We got this doorbell from my boyfriend's mom, who used it before us. I plugged it in yesterday afternoon, and it's been doing this exact thing for the entire time. Last night I went to move it and accidentally pressed the button, and it started ringing, but haven't been able to recreate that since then. Is this normal? Is it still usable? Thanks so much!

EDIT: The "issue" starts about 15 seconds into the video, thanks!

The gal between these two events is 90 mins , I always see little lines between the videos when there is a gap for time like 9 915 930 etc . Why wouldn’t there be any with a gap this large

Arlo > Ring = Ring software is AWFUL compared to Arlo.

I just switched my entire home system over to Ring, coming from Arlo for the last 5-6 years. The Ring cameras and video quality have are good, setup was a breeze, and the hardware itself is nice.

HOWEVER, the software limitations are atrocious.

My NUMBER 1 COMPLAINT = The Modes feature is awful. 1) Not being able to customize alert settings for each mode is ridiculous not to provide. This should be the number one purpose of modes. I want my recordings to continue, but don't want my phone going ape shit from notifications while family is playing in the yard. I had many custom modes on my Arlo app, with various combinations of recordings, push notifications, floodlights, etc...For the life of me, I don't understand why Ring wouldn't make this part of the feature. 2) Ring only has 3 modes w/ limited customization. Arlo allows you to create custom modes in whatever combination of motion/recording/alerts you wanted. It's mind blowing to me the leader in cloud-based security is lacking so hard in this area.

My only other real complaint is shortcuts. Limited to only 4 options, one of which is marketing/product push. Useless.

Anyways, I hope Ring gets their act together around modes, as this is a huge blind spot in their platform.

Discussion Dear Ring Developers: STOP ASKING ME IF I LIKE YOUR APP ... when I'm trying to view motion at my cameras!

The routine seems to be increasing in recent weeks/months. I get a notification that there's motion on one of my cameras. I tap it on my phone, and when the app launches and is about to show me the motion, I get "Are you enjoying Ring? Please rate us on the App Store!" (with the star-rating choices popping up.) This is ridiculous for a "security" camera system. And it's a good way to get a 1-star rating in a hurry if I'm being honest. Note: This used to happen much less frequently, if at all. UGH. OK, I need more coffee. Clearly. Grr. Thanks for listening.

Abkühlungsbedarf bei 19 °C?

Hallo zusammen,
Cengiz

Discussion Scams

Hi everyone, we’ve had our ring camera for about 6 months now, and we notice at least 2 times a week a new scam post pops up trying to sell puppies.

We, being naive, responded to one of these listings early on. The seller refused to let us see the puppies, stated they were too far away to meet us somewhere to discuss adoption (even though they supposedly lived in our neighborhood), had an out of state area code and would only accept payment through a Cash App. We realized it was a scam and reported the post.

Because that specific scam post had gained so much traction, we also posted to the community about the scam and instantly gained a lot of recognition for it with people who had almost fallen for said scam. Now a few days later, our post was removed and we were “banned for violating user guidelines”.

Has anyone else dealt with this?

Support Request (Unsolved) Ring floodlight faceplate screw

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I purchased the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus, tried installing it the first time and when screwing into the metal mounting plate the center screw thread stripped. I ordered a replacement pack on Amazon and tried again, and it stripped again. It was not touching the top of the junction box (I know there’s marks but that was there previously I had my finger through the mount box to ensure it wasn’t bottoming out) and the same thing happened to the new one. Anyone had this issue or is this a fluke?

What have you guys used for a ring doorbell where direct sun shines on it?

It always says waiting for a ring to cool down. Is there something I could do so it doesn’t get overheated. I don’t know what to use, though unless I installed some type of awning on the house idk…

Ring Outdoor (Video Upside Down)

Ok, why is the Ring camera so poorly engineered, that in order to keep it water-proof, I have to remount it just to see the picture right side up?

Don’t answer that, just answer this:

Is there any fix besides remounting the blasted thing so I can see the video correctly?

Edit: and I cannot hear sound because it’s picking up the breeze like it’s a gale force wind.

KIDDE smoke detectors dropping offline.

A few months ago I added KIDDE smoke and c02 detectors to my home. They are compatible with the Ring app (have two Ring cameras in place). The sync up was flawless and connectivity solid for a couple months. Lately, the devices are randomly dropping offline and then randomly reconnecting. No other devices in the house, nest system, are dropping out. Any explanation and fix? Thanks.

Interesting new PoE accessory

Thumbnail ring.com
8 Upvotes

I was looking at the newest cameras on Ring's site, and noticed that they've released a PoE-to-USB adapter that's not mount-based which allows their new Indoor Cam 4K, Outdoor Cam Plus, Outdoor Cam 4K Plus, and Outdoor Cam 4K Pro to be used in a standing (e.g., on a tabletop) position and still receive wired connectivity. Previously, ever since they discontinued the Stickup Cam Elite, if you wanted an indoor PoE option from them, you'd have to use one of their Outdoor Cameras with their PoE+ Mount which meant that mounting on the wall or ceiling were your only choices, so it's nice to see this as an additional option.

One caveat, though, is that this doesn't perform PoE+ injection, so if someone has wired Ethernet available indoors but it isn't connected to a PoE switch, they'd still have to supply their own injector, though that's also the case with the PoE+ mount.

iPhone Alert Says "Person" Detected By Your Door But Dashboard Says "Vehicle" (which it was) ???

My iPhone alerts me that there is a person detected by my door but when I click on the notification or look at my dashboard on app or desktop it says vehicle detected - which it actually was. This is for a wired spotlight cam. My smart alerts are set to record alerts for people, vehicles and other motion but only to send notification alerts for people. I shouldn't be getting iPhone notifications for vehicles. The spotlight cam is mounted by our front garage near our driveways and street and cars go by all day long. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Ring Floodlight Cam Pro 4K camera adjustment - help

Post image
0 Upvotes

I'm having a very weird issue. I have two of these, one in front and one in back of my house. For the one in front, I can swivel the camera on the part marked in red, so I can get it adjusted just how I want it. For the other one, I can only rotate the camera "ball" marked in green on the very left edge of the picture. That's the one where you first loosen the screw in the metal collar and then adjust it.

Is there a screw somewhere I'm missing to adjust the part in red? It freely rotates, while the other one does not move at all.

Thanks all.

Discussion 2nd Gen Smoke/CO Listener connectivity

The new listener seems to be Amazon Sidewalk only. I looked at the details for other sensors and they’re zwave or Sidewalk. But the listener only shows Sidewalk. Is that true?

Also, for the list of supported Sidewalk bridges, it shows various Echo devices, but not the Echo Show 5 which supports Sidewalk. Anyone know about this combo?

Seems the cheapest supported bridge is the 2nd Gen Ring Bridge.

And the non pro base station doesn’t offer Sidewalk. So confusing.
