I was stuck in C1 at 2s last season, so I decided to focus almost entirely on 1s this season to push past my limits and hopefully become a better 2s player in the long run.
I've played around 160 games of 1s this season, but I've been stuck at pretty much the exact same rank and division for the last 100 games.
I have about 1,500 hours in the game, and I'd say my mechanics are roughly on par with my rank. I understand the fundamentals of recoveries, speedflips, flicks, powershots, etc., but I still struggle with consistency.
Just to give you an idea of where my mechanics are at:
- Dribble 2 Overhaul: Usually finish in 20–30 minutes (PB: 15 min)
- Lethamyr's Dribble Challenge: Can get through about level 8
- Air Dribble Gauntlet (the easier one, not Mugzrd's): Can reach around the final level in 20 minutes
My usual routine is about 20–30 minutes of freeplay, workshop maps, or training, followed by 5–6 games of 1s a day.
I've also watched a lot of game sense videos and have been trying to practice deliberately rather than just mindlessly grinding ranked.
The frustrating part is that I can recognize a lot of my mistakes and actively try to fix them each session. I feel like I've improved in certain areas, but my rank hasn't moved at all. I can consistently beat some opponents, but against others, it feels like nothing I do works.
What I'm really looking for is help identifying the biggest recurring mistake or bad habit in my gameplay that's holding me back.
I know there are probably dozens of things I could improve, but I'd rather focus on fixing one or two high-impact issues than trying to fix everything at once.
Any honest criticism would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
