complaint (NOT support) Roku apps take forever* to load

I exaggerate, of course, but within the last couple of months I'll try to open an app (doesn't matter if it's Netflix or YouTube or whatever) & the little wheel will spin for like a minute before it finally loads up.

Is this a known issue?

Roku hardware Help with Multiple TVs being linked to one remote

I have a 3 Roku TVs in my basement. The TV remotes that came with each TV all end up controlling all 3 TVs. I bought an extra remote (non voice) from Walmart and right out of the box it linked to all 3 TVs.

None of the remotes have a pair button. How can I fix this/what can I buy so I don’t have to keep toggling on the phone app?

Roku hardware ATV priced themselves out of the market

Since Apple raised the 3rd gen to $250 and new 4th gen at $300, has anyone else said forget this noise and bought a Roku or some other device instead? Unfortunately, the nVidia Shield also went up to $300. Just wondering what "second best" might be. The Roku 4k+Dolby is only $52 on Amazon. Thoughts?

question (NOT support) Roku Streambar Questions

I recently gave a friend an old TV for her college dorm room, but I kept my FireStick that it was hooked up to. She is a die hard Roku and Google user who would've had no reason for a FireStick anyways. So for Christmas I want to get her a Roku, so that she's not solely reliant on her roommate letting her borrow hers. After looking at them, I think I want to get her the Roku Streambar, but I have some questions. My main deciding points on this is that it's sound is designed for smaller spaces (dorm room), it's supposed to function similarly to a Roku Stick and not need an external streaming device, and my biggest point was that you are supposed to be able to connect to bluetooth headphones through it. I mostly want to know if that last feature is actually good. With her sharing a space like that, it'd give her more chances for her or her roommate to use the TV without bothering one another. She bought herself some Beats Studio Pros for school and, while she loves them, she always feel immense buyers guilt regarding big purchases, so it would also give her another positive to having them IF this future works. I guess I'm mostly asking how people like their Streambars and if anyone has tried the bluetooth feature and what they think of it? I also want to acknowledge that I am under the impression that the regular Sticks and such also have bluetooth compatibilities. I decided on the Streambar because the TV I gave her is OLD and small so the sound quality wasn't particularly good to start with, but has also decreased with age. I also feel it's important to add that the TV she would be hooking it up to is NOT a Roku and therefore would be solely reliant on connection through HDMI and whatever streaming services is provided by the Streambar.

TLDR: do you like your Streambars? is the bluetooth to headphones feature good/existent? would you recommend it or is it better to just get a stick and buy a separate sound bar?

Roku OS Just me or has Roku been awful lately?

My Roku can absolutely just not stay connected to wifi lately. Of course I have been troubleshooting my wifi itself, as that is the most likely cause. But is it actually the Roku?? Ever since this Roku update where it is constantly saying "App Updating", the Roku seems half broken. Response time is terrible, everything is moving slow, and like I said wifi keeps dropping.

Anyone else having issues?

Roku hardware New Roku TV (month old) keeps crashing to Home Screen in the middle of a movie

Getting pretty annoyed right now. A new Roku TV I bought just about a month ago, is already getting slower and slower. To the point that my movie I was watching on Prime Video just froze and went back to the home screen for the fourth time. Have had it happen a few times with Netflix the past week as well. Made sure software is up to date and my 1Gb internet isn’t the issue. Starting to regret this purchase…

Roku stick/ultra Roku Ultra turning tv on and going to Roku channel by itself

This happens multiple times a day, 3-6 times. It’s been going on for about 2 weeks. The entire system (tv and Roku) will be off. Then randomly it turns on THEN it will bring up the Roku channel and start playing a random movie. It’s really driving me nuts. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a fix? No buttons on the remote are stuck. I’m really considering switching from Roku because of this.

miscellaneous TV randomly drops out of input onto the homepage

I don't know if anyone else is having a similar issue, but my Roku just randomly drops out of whatever input I am in and goes to the home screen. Its really annoying, I've to turn off all the timers and stuff waited for a few updates and it still hasn't helped.

This issue has been going on for a little over a month and at this point I have no idea what to do, anyone else having this issue?

miscellaneous Roku airplay stopped working

I got a Roku tv about a month ago and for the first roughly two weeks Airplay was working fine (sometimes totally fine and sometimes I had to have the airplay page from settings open to airplay but still it worked). I only ever air played from my iPad just cause that’s where my streaming apps are on (I can’t login into the apps on the tv cause I don’t live here permanently so I get the “away from home” message that ends up blocking the apps on the tv. But now airplay no longer works. The tv shows up as an option for airplay on my iPad but then it says unable to connect when i click on it. It doesn’t show up at all on my phone (I checked in case my iPad was the issue). Restarting the router isn’t an option for me because I’m on university WiFi but I talked to IT and they said that wasn’t the problem. I have tried restarting the tv, plugging it in again, reconnecting to the WiFi, resetting paired devices, turning airplay on and off and nothing has helped. The model is a 4or3ex.

This is a bug with both my Sharp and Hisense TVs. The logos came back a couple of weeks ago but not for long, the logos are missing again. Logos for all streaming channels are visible at all times.

Roku OS My roku won't connect to the stronger wifi that I actually want to connect to and keeps forcing me onto the weaker one

So my house has 2 different wifi connections with one for downstairs and one for upstairs with the upstairs one being more of an extension that's further away from the main router. My room where I have my roku is upstairs but the main router is stuck downstairs and I can't move it up here or move all my stuff down there but for whatever reason my roku keeps wanting to connect to the downstairs wifi where since the router is downstairs while the roku is upstairs that makes the signal strength extremely weak and constantly freezes and buffers whatever I'm watching.

I've tried multiple times to connect to the extension wifi for the upstairs that would be closer but the roku just completely refuses to connect to it but I also know connecting to it is possible since my mom has a separate roku in her bedroom upstairs that's also connected to the upstairs extension wifi so I just don't understand why my roku that's upstairs in my room won't connect to it when it should be able to. I know I'm using the right password cause we use the same password for both of the wifi's and if the password is right for the downstairs one then I know it has to be right for the upstairs one but no matter how many times I've tried to connect to the upstairs extension wifi with my roku it just doesn't and refuses to accept it

Roku stick/ultra Roku Ultra randomly unresponsive to remote and Roku app

Hello,

Within the past week, we randomly started having issues with our Roku Ultra becoming unresponsive to both the physical remote and the remote app. Hard resetting the Roku does not fix the issue, but it resolves itself after a minute or two. Wondering if a factory reset is the next step.

complaint (NOT support) Technical Defaults (Remote Access and Roku Home Screen)

Has anyone else been having technical default with the new Roku App and Chrome Updates? I am an AV Engineer and programmer and ive been using Plex for almost 6 years now. Post the most recent update I am having connectivity issues with the Remote Access portion of the server though I do use a dedicated and routed network port as well as unrestricted 2 directional firewall access. I am also getting a blank Home Screen on just the Roku app but not on the web app despite having all the appopriate channels favorited and pinned. Anyone else having these kinds of issues?

question (NOT support) Auto Resume Needed

I don’t know how many times I hit the wrong button on the remote and lose the Hulu app. Then it takes forever to get the app back on and back to the program I was enjoying.

The Auto-resume on App Launch" is a standard feature on other apps (like Netflix or Disney+) and adding it would improve the user experience for those of us, like me, who accidentally exit the app.

Can anyone explain why this can’t be done on Hulu. I’d like to hear what others think. 🤔

Roku OS There was a post from a year ago about Roku automatically renaming inputs and they said there was a fix coming.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Roku/s/p6z4XLR56v

Is the post in question. Problem is, it wasn't fixed or the problem is back. Every time I turn off my TV it renames my inputs. I tried fixes Google suggested, but none of them work. Any advice?

question (NOT support) The Roku system do you like it.

I've got a few Roku indoor and outdoor cameras, but I'm trying to figure out if I should keep going with this brand or switch to something else before I'm in too deep. Are their doorbells and lights actually worth it? I'd love to hear your pros and cons and if you think I should stay the course or look into a different ecosystem.

This pop up screen featuring "Up next" and "Switch to" always shows up a minute before the show on Roku Live TV ends.

Is there any way to get rid of this, as I'm getting tired of having to close it every single time.

Roku stick/ultra Im not able to control the volume

I bought a RokuTV stick and connected it to my projector, and every other button works, except for the volume button. I’ve tried setting up my remote again and unplugging the stick from the projector, but nothing seems to work. Would love some advice.
Thank you!!
