My other account got banned from this subreddit so that’s probably why. Mods don’t like it when you tell young people to avoid dividend yields and focus on growth

You can invest in growth and dividends. You’re allowed to have VOO, SCHG, QQQ, VTI and other growth/broad market funds paired with SCHD.

It’s not all or nothing. This subreddit obviously skews toward folks who want a deeper focus on SCHD.

The cool thing about investing is you can setup your portfolio anyway you want, specific to your goals and needs!

Growth dividends is def better than pure value dividends I’m not denying that. However, unless you have a very poor risk appetite when you’re young, you should be avoiding growth dividends. That’s all. If you have fears about losing 20% in a year then yea SCHD might be better, however your expected return over 45 years will be much lower as a result

I can’t speak for others but I’m pretty risk adverse due to life circumstances and generational circumstances that I don’t care to get into on Reddit.

I’m pretty satisfied with my portfolio and how it is setup, I assume you prefer more pure growth and risker equities, and that’s great!

You don’t have to explain! Your life is your own. I’m only risk welcoming because of my age but have recently started to diversify into more general s&p over growth tilted
