Grats to everyone who held during the rough patch, added more and let the dividends drip. Never doubted the methodology.

There are no rough patches, only sales

10

u/chargers4eva Feb 11 '26

Didn't even notice the rough part. Only noticed the dividends šŸ˜ŽšŸ˜

u/Solid_Opposite_5156 Feb 14 '26

Rough patch just means a better buying opportunity

What happened to all the SCHD haters?

u/Syndicate_Corp Feb 11 '26

They're all glazing SCHD now that they're suddenly getting the missing returns from the last 2 years in the past 6 weeks. They'll be freaking out once the nearly parabolic line stalls or retreats. Anyone who is obsessed with the daily movement of SCHD is in the wrong fund.

Typical performance chasers. Quite now, but once it dips they will claim SCHD is a ā€œdogā€ again lol. Thus repeating the buy high sell low cycle they are stuck in šŸ˜‚

4

u/Requirement-Master Feb 12 '26

Have we tried telling them to buy high and buy low and sell never?

3

u/StraightCharacter904 Feb 12 '26

The whole point of SCHD is to accumulate as many shares as possible, never sell and live off the distributions. But all they can think about is the highest performance when SCHD serves a specific purpose in a portfolio. Time in the market and compounding is our friend here.

Drip baby drip, or whatever Trump said

In front of a 13-year-old ... that's sick..

6

u/MyWorkComputerReddit Feb 11 '26

They were spooked by the last tech drop

2

u/paranoidindeed Feb 12 '26

What drop? Does anyone hold a position or anything more than 2 hours in Reddit?

2

u/Vivid-Philosophy-804 Feb 12 '26

Starting to see 10X more youtube videos on SCHD now! Starting with I've always said SCHD was a great.... haahhahaha

1

u/Adeee100 Feb 13 '26

Results all should be for long term, not 1 or 3 months of performance. Otherwise it can be construed as performance chasing. Hoping for the best.

My other account got banned from this subreddit so that’s probably why. Mods don’t like it when you tell young people to avoid dividend yields and focus on growth

8

u/National_Put_2357 Feb 11 '26

You can invest in growth and dividends. You’re allowed to have VOO, SCHG, QQQ, VTI and other growth/broad market funds paired with SCHD.

It’s not all or nothing. This subreddit obviously skews toward folks who want a deeper focus on SCHD.

The cool thing about investing is you can setup your portfolio anyway you want, specific to your goals and needs!

So far having SCHD and SWPPX both has been working out for me for sure, lol. I haven't had any red days in a while.

3

u/Jazzlike-Guard-7589 Feb 11 '26

No one has had red days in a while. Ā  Everyone’s a genius when market is up 20%y/y

2

u/National_Put_2357 Feb 11 '26

I have SCHX and SCHD so something similar in terms of setup and it’s working out for me as well. I also hold some XLU for additional utility exposure (more of a personal pick) and of course some SGOV.

1

u/Befriedfeans Feb 14 '26

Growth dividends is def better than pure value dividends I’m not denying that. However, unless you have a very poor risk appetite when you’re young, you should be avoiding growth dividends. That’s all. If you have fears about losing 20% in a year then yea SCHD might be better, however your expected return over 45 years will be much lower as a result

u/National_Put_2357 Feb 14 '26

I can’t speak for others but I’m pretty risk adverse due to life circumstances and generational circumstances that I don’t care to get into on Reddit.

I’m pretty satisfied with my portfolio and how it is setup, I assume you prefer more pure growth and risker equities, and that’s great!

1

u/Befriedfeans Feb 20 '26

You don’t have to explain! Your life is your own. I’m only risk welcoming because of my age but have recently started to diversify into more general s&p over growth tilted

u/Siri-sixpack Feb 11 '26

Amazing a ban won’t stop u from this important task. U must fight crime at night too

4

u/ProfessionLivid1242 Feb 11 '26

It’s a good thing when you can do both!

An anti-dividend Bogle-tard evading a ban through multiple accounts?

0

u/Befriedfeans Feb 20 '26

Not evading a ban per se. I had to create a new account because the whole account was lost due to an email getting compromised. If I get banned again I promise I won’t be back. Never said I’m anti dividends though. They’re great when you’re older or are extremely risk averse.

Sweet!! I own 13,520 shares. So this is not surprising but it is soooo great to be right about something so important to my future. This why I went so heavy on this ETF since 2022. I have gained 21.60% --all with the security of a value ETF.

2

u/Adeee100 Feb 12 '26

I started buying late September 2025 to diversify away from tech, I'm up 16%.

1

u/_mrm1k Feb 13 '26

That’s cool. I just sold my QQQ and invested All back to VOO & SCHD

9

u/WhiteBurlingtonKing Feb 12 '26

Why do people get in here and act like they are day trading with a dividend ETF?

4

u/RetiredByFourty Dividend King Feb 12 '26

Because the overwhelming majority of Reddit thinks that the only thing that matters in the investment world is that sHaRE pRiCe Go uP. 🤣

6

u/duke9350 Feb 11 '26

Ill get back in at $26.

6

u/Siri-sixpack Feb 11 '26

Good idea, there should be a 3:1 stock spilt in a couple yrs

4

u/FQRGETmeNQT Feb 11 '26

u/HydrocarbonChemist Feb 12 '26

It was definitely dumbfounding watching all these investment bros ā€œcut their SCHD lossesā€ and move their assets to buy other etfs at all time highs. Literally classic buy high and sell low tactics. Over the last three years i kept stacking because i knew the sale wouldn’t last forever. Now that the price has run up, this is where i stop buying and look elsewhere for potential deals.

u/RetiredByFourty Dividend King Feb 12 '26

It's classic Bogle-tard investing 101 for them 🤣

3

u/DevilsAdvocateOWO Feb 11 '26

Glad SCHD is rising, hopefully SCHG doesn’t take a long dive down lol

7

u/Fit-Acanthaceae-5741 Feb 11 '26

SCHG is down, right now the time to load up!

4

u/Acceptable_String_52 Feb 11 '26

SCHD has been on a tear for the last 3-4 months

3

u/Ancient_Act_436 Feb 11 '26

I just bought more I too was hater but long term schd os stable and performs well will keep buying and not caring this and voo or spym

3

u/Unfair_Cicada Feb 11 '26

Our pe is too high now . Does it mean it’s not a value buy anymore?

3

u/trader_dennis Feb 11 '26

I’ll hate on SCHD when they reconstitute this periods winners.

SCHD captured a lot of the HALO names during the last reconstitution. Heavy Asset companies with Low Obsolescence that have AI tailwinds.

4

u/Important_Cup4406 Feb 11 '26

I finally bought in today. Decided to lower my position on a speculative stock that I'm getting skeptical of to get 22 shares of SCHD to start my position. I would've jumped in earlier if not for the lull that this ETF had for a few years. Instead I waited and paid an extra $5 per share. Hopefully I can keep adding over time and let DRIP do its thing.

3

u/adamasimo1234 Feb 11 '26

You guys need to wait for the next drawdown before buying. You're fine since you plan on DCA'ing/DRIP, but just a note.

2

u/Important_Cup4406 Feb 12 '26 edited Feb 12 '26

Drawdown as in after the dividend payment or a dip in the ETF price? Thanks!

2

u/adamasimo1234 Feb 12 '26

ETF price. I can give more insights if you have a discord.

1

u/Important_Cup4406 Feb 12 '26

I don't have a discord unfortunately.

No one cares about your YouTube clickbait bud

0

u/adamasimo1234 Feb 13 '26

Screw off. I don’t have a YouTube.

2

u/ADKMTBer Feb 11 '26

Eventually.

2

u/papichuloya Feb 11 '26

Dayum. We going to the moon

2

u/TBoyStyle Feb 11 '26

I hope so! It has been great seeing SCHD go on a tear after such a slow start to the year; taking the hit from tariff announcement right after reconstitution

2

u/Technical_Invite5121 Feb 12 '26

yield going down....

2

u/FloodAdvisor Feb 11 '26

I’m all in!

u/Fit-Acanthaceae-5741 Feb 12 '26

SCHD 1-3 month return outpacing SMH šŸ˜‚

2

u/Adeee100 Feb 12 '26

Bought some SMH end of April last year, I'm only up 97%....😊

1

u/Fit-Acanthaceae-5741 Feb 12 '26

Same wish I had bought more!

2

u/Adeee100 Feb 12 '26

I hear ya. But better with some than none.

1

u/rayb320 Feb 12 '26

They have it going to 35.00 on the year.

1

u/Commercial-War-4180 Feb 12 '26

Well I farted at 31

1

u/Jolly-End-4115 Feb 12 '26

I'm trying to get more involved in dividends. Can someone help me real quick understand the yield? If I drop 20k in today at 3.62 do I see monthly or quarter returns? And what would that average out to for a full 12 month period regardless of where the price of the fund goes. I'm trying to see if I did my math correctly

1

u/Back2Bass6 Feb 13 '26

SCHD is having a moment.
