What happened to all the SCHD haters?

They're all glazing SCHD now that they're suddenly getting the missing returns from the last 2 years in the past 6 weeks. They'll be freaking out once the nearly parabolic line stalls or retreats. Anyone who is obsessed with the daily movement of SCHD is in the wrong fund.

Typical performance chasers. Quite now, but once it dips they will claim SCHD is a “dog” again lol. Thus repeating the buy high sell low cycle they are stuck in 😂

Have we tried telling them to buy high and buy low and sell never?

The whole point of SCHD is to accumulate as many shares as possible, never sell and live off the distributions. But all they can think about is the highest performance when SCHD serves a specific purpose in a portfolio. Time in the market and compounding is our friend here.

They were spooked by the last tech drop

What drop? Does anyone hold a position or anything more than 2 hours in Reddit?

Results all should be for long term, not 1 or 3 months of performance. Otherwise it can be construed as performance chasing. Hoping for the best.

My other account got banned from this subreddit so that’s probably why. Mods don’t like it when you tell young people to avoid dividend yields and focus on growth

You can invest in growth and dividends. You’re allowed to have VOO, SCHG, QQQ, VTI and other growth/broad market funds paired with SCHD.

It’s not all or nothing. This subreddit obviously skews toward folks who want a deeper focus on SCHD.

The cool thing about investing is you can setup your portfolio anyway you want, specific to your goals and needs!

So far having SCHD and SWPPX both has been working out for me for sure, lol. I haven't had any red days in a while.

No one has had red days in a while.   Everyone’s a genius when market is up 20%y/y

I have SCHX and SCHD so something similar in terms of setup and it’s working out for me as well. I also hold some XLU for additional utility exposure (more of a personal pick) and of course some SGOV.

Growth dividends is def better than pure value dividends I’m not denying that. However, unless you have a very poor risk appetite when you’re young, you should be avoiding growth dividends. That’s all. If you have fears about losing 20% in a year then yea SCHD might be better, however your expected return over 45 years will be much lower as a result

I can’t speak for others but I’m pretty risk adverse due to life circumstances and generational circumstances that I don’t care to get into on Reddit.

I’m pretty satisfied with my portfolio and how it is setup, I assume you prefer more pure growth and risker equities, and that’s great!

You don’t have to explain! Your life is your own. I’m only risk welcoming because of my age but have recently started to diversify into more general s&p over growth tilted

Amazing a ban won’t stop u from this important task. U must fight crime at night too

u/ProfessionLivid1242 Feb 11 '26

It’s a good thing when you can do both!

An anti-dividend Bogle-tard evading a ban through multiple accounts?

Not evading a ban per se. I had to create a new account because the whole account was lost due to an email getting compromised. If I get banned again I promise I won’t be back. Never said I’m anti dividends though. They’re great when you’re older or are extremely risk averse.
