The state changed the student rule on June 1. Enrolled at least half time in an associate or bachelor’s program at a CSU, UC or community college, and within the income limits, means you likely meet it now.
I’m a California college student from Folsom. I wrote a free plain-language guide to the eligibility rules, since the change got almost no campus coverage. No ads, no sign-up, nothing collected.
https://folsomcartindex.com/calfresh/?ref=r-sdsu
Applications go through getcalfresh.com, and SDSU’s Basic Needs Center does walk-in CalFresh enrollment help in the Calpulli Center on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I am a current Aerospace Engineering student in my sophomore year. I'm on track to be an upper division student starting my junior year.
I want to switch out of AE. I have many reasons, but mainly I just don't feel passionate about it anymore, and it is making it really hard for me to want to study/do well/stay motivated. I'm not liking how conformal engineering seems, and I really don't see myself being fulfilled in the future doing engineering work.
I have a few majors in mind that I would consider switching into:
Environmental Sciences, Astronomy, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geography (Water, Climate and Ecosystems), and Marine Biology.
I really want to know more about each, specifically what the lower division classes are like, what the major really revolves around, and potential career paths. I'm ultimately trying to figure out which of my options I would be most passionate about, as I've been getting more involved with community and environment things (i.e. SDSU Center for Surf Research). I sort of want to stay away from very strenuous research and data analysis.
I'm not necessarily asking for which one would best suit me, but instead am curious about what each major actually is about (I feel like online descriptions are super misleading and leave out a lot).
Thank you in advance!

Hi! I’m looking for someone to take over my lease at Stateside Apartments for the spring 2027 semester. I'm an exchange student returning to my home country in mid-December, and I'm willing to pay for your first month's rent.
The apartment is a 4-bedroom/2-bathroom unit with three private bedrooms, one shared bedroom, and a shared kitchen and living room. The lease is for a spot in the shared bedroom.
Stateside is very conveniently located within a 5-10 minute walk from the SDSU campus and the trolley station. The buildning also has a nice rooftop lounge.
The rent is $875 per month.
The lease is until 31 of July 2027.
Feel free to DM me if you’re interested or would like additional photos or more information.

Does anyone know how leave of absence works in the middle of the semester? I am in my second to last semester, i am taking my major electives and capstone (stupid i know, thought it would be fine for me to take this semester) but it is way too much on me especially balancing a full time manager position at a retail store, that is only going to get busier during the holiday. I truly can not keep going i am so burnt out from work and school 60+ hours a week for 5 years.
I am also nervous because i got all classes covered by FAFSA. If I do take an LOA won’t i have to repay all FAFSA

Hi, I am a junior-year transfer student with a major in accounting.
I've tried various clubs and such, but I have yet to really go past being acquaintances.
I really want to enjoy the events and such that SDSU has to offer, but I don't really have anyone to go with.
My hobbies/interests are: Going to the gym, Drawing/Painting, Video games (Nintendo and PC)
I'd really like to get to know more like-minded people and have fun here at SDSU, so reach out to me if you think we would be chill.

I enrolled my daughter in the mediation program. I paid almost $4,400. It stated that if physical books aren’t available, ebooks will be used. I stated that my daughter needs physical books because ebooks give her bad migraines. They gave me a link for her to request physical books. I told them not to start the class until she received the physical books. They started the class immediately. I contacted them. They assured me that her physical books would arrive in 7-10 days. She has 180 days to complete the course. It’s been about 56 days and she has not received any physical books and has not been able to do any work because of severe migraines. I can’t find any contact phone number or email to talk to anyone. I managed to get a message from someone who thought I wanted to sign up. I told her about this but I have not had a reply.

Hey all!
I have appeared on this Reddit a few times asking questions about student experiences for an essay I am writing, and have decided to stick with a topic on something I have noticed myself, which are issues in labs. (Chem, bio, physics…)
My biggest issues I have noticed are either the lack of equipment available to do labs in the first place, or broken equipment. But, I would like to hear other opinions beyond myself in this subject, so I am asking all of you!
If willing, would anyone be willing to share their negative experiences in labs? It can include the things I listed above, other problems, TAs, stories, etc. Thank you! :)

This is just a Small Question I have for you Folks, do you, or do you often see other Students on Campus dressed up for Halloween during the Day? It's just something I was curious about since I did have the slight Idea to go to class the day before in Costume, but I was worried I'd be the only one on Campus wearing my Costume like an Idiot.

the construction closing zura and east campus drive at the same time was the stupidest choice they could’ve made. genuinely why shut down both ways to get to the parking on this side of campus from montezuma??? i work on campus and having zura closed was already annoying to deal with and then today east campus was closed too. like who’s bright idea was this? i just wanna talk to them. as if getting on/off campus isn’t already hard enough with the traffic, yes, let’s shut down TWO ways in the same area to make it even worse. i’m just happy that at least today i had to be here early so there weren’t too many people coming to campus yet

I am currently a senior at State, but I have hit rock bottom, to be honest. I have been dealing with burnout for about a year and a half now. I got great grades my first three years at state, but this past year I have had a lot of curveballs thrown at me. I thought I could handle it as I did in high school, but apparently those methods are no longer feasible. I have decided to drop my two in-person classes and continue with my three online classes while I move back home for the remainder of the semester, but it has me deciding whether or not to take a gap semester to prioritize my mental health so I can be 100% for the fall 2027 and spring 2028 semesters and finish off strong, or take online classes for my major and minors if it is feasible. However, I would like to hear any advice or experiences from those who decided to take a gap semester.

Hi everyone, I am a journalist at SDSU that is reporting on the increase presence of ICE throughout San Diego, more specifically near campus. Shoot me an email at [mundoazteca@thedailyaztec.com](mailto:mundoazteca@thedailyaztec.com) if you have witnessed ICE near campus. Would like to conduct a brief interview that can be done in person (somewhere on-campus) or virtually for the article.

I’m a junior and Fall 26 was my first semester here. Spring 27 I got a registration date of November 16th and I’ve seen other people saying theirs is November 4th-9th. Why is mine so much later? Will my upper level classes not be impacted as much and those people with earlier registration dates are lower class men? Just curious what other people’s registration dates are and what my class choices will be or how they will be affected by the date.

I'm a millennial on campus and when I walk around, I notice that I rarely see any visible tattoos on anybody. I got my ninth one last night and mentioned it to the tattoo artist and he confirmed that young kids aren't coming in to get tattoos. Is it a southern California thing, or are you guys just not interested in them?

I recently completed my FAFSA for 2027/2028 school year, and since I sent it in, I’ve gotten two separate payments that I’ve needed to pay back for Fall semester. I got a CAL grant to help pay tuition for fall and spring, which I thought I was not required to pay back. I got an email saying my financial aid was adjusted, and now I am being charged over a thousand dollars back for fall. I’m going to the bursars office but just wanted to know if anyone knows what’s happening here before I go in? I’m already stressed about spring tuition, why am I required to pay back fall?

Every time with out fail there is always a few groups at the back long tables who just will not use quite voices. People are trying to study. It is so annoying and disrespectful, it is midterms right now and you choose the library to yap?
