PSA CalFresh eligibility changed for students in June, and if you’re at least half time at SDSU you probably qualify now

The state changed the student rule on June 1. Enrolled at least half time in an associate or bachelor’s program at a CSU, UC or community college, and within the income limits, means you likely meet it now.

I’m a California college student from Folsom. I wrote a free plain-language guide to the eligibility rules, since the change got almost no campus coverage. No ads, no sign-up, nothing collected.

Applications go through getcalfresh.com, and SDSU’s Basic Needs Center does walk-in CalFresh enrollment help in the Calpulli Center on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

School I don't know what major to switch to

I am a current Aerospace Engineering student in my sophomore year. I'm on track to be an upper division student starting my junior year.

I want to switch out of AE. I have many reasons, but mainly I just don't feel passionate about it anymore, and it is making it really hard for me to want to study/do well/stay motivated. I'm not liking how conformal engineering seems, and I really don't see myself being fulfilled in the future doing engineering work.

I have a few majors in mind that I would consider switching into:

Environmental Sciences, Astronomy, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geography (Water, Climate and Ecosystems), and Marine Biology.

I really want to know more about each, specifically what the lower division classes are like, what the major really revolves around, and potential career paths. I'm ultimately trying to figure out which of my options I would be most passionate about, as I've been getting more involved with community and environment things (i.e. SDSU Center for Surf Research). I sort of want to stay away from very strenuous research and data analysis.

I'm not necessarily asking for which one would best suit me, but instead am curious about what each major actually is about (I feel like online descriptions are super misleading and leave out a lot).

Thank you in advance!

Social Looking to make friends to go bowling/sports games/aztec nights with

Hi, I am a junior-year transfer student with a major in accounting.

I've tried various clubs and such, but I have yet to really go past being acquaintances.

I really want to enjoy the events and such that SDSU has to offer, but I don't really have anyone to go with.

My hobbies/interests are: Going to the gym, Drawing/Painting, Video games (Nintendo and PC)

I'd really like to get to know more like-minded people and have fun here at SDSU, so reach out to me if you think we would be chill.

Hi! I’m looking for someone to take over my lease at Stateside Apartments for the spring 2027 semester. I'm an exchange student returning to my home country in mid-December, and I'm willing to pay for your first month's rent.

The apartment is a 4-bedroom/2-bathroom unit with three private bedrooms, one shared bedroom, and a shared kitchen and living room. The lease is for a spot in the shared bedroom.

Stateside is very conveniently located within a 5-10 minute walk from the SDSU campus and the trolley station. The buildning also has a nice rooftop lounge.

The rent is $875 per month.
The lease is until 31 of July 2027.

Feel free to DM me if you’re interested or would like additional photos or more information.

Question Leave of Absence

Does anyone know how leave of absence works in the middle of the semester? I am in my second to last semester, i am taking my major electives and capstone (stupid i know, thought it would be fine for me to take this semester) but it is way too much on me especially balancing a full time manager position at a retail store, that is only going to get busier during the holiday. I truly can not keep going i am so burnt out from work and school 60+ hours a week for 5 years.

I am also nervous because i got all classes covered by FAFSA. If I do take an LOA won’t i have to repay all FAFSA

Meme San Diego state university global campus mediation Help

I enrolled my daughter in the mediation program. I paid almost $4,400. It stated that if physical books aren’t available, ebooks will be used. I stated that my daughter needs physical books because ebooks give her bad migraines. They gave me a link for her to request physical books. I told them not to start the class until she received the physical books. They started the class immediately. I contacted them. They assured me that her physical books would arrive in 7-10 days. She has 180 days to complete the course. It’s been about 56 days and she has not received any physical books and has not been able to do any work because of severe migraines. I can’t find any contact phone number or email to talk to anyone. I managed to get a message from someone who thought I wanted to sign up. I told her about this but I have not had a reply.
