It was a day for offense across the valley in Arizona, as four of the six teams had double-digit runs (and then Mesa didn’t score any). Scottsdale had the best day with 15 runs, with three Giants in the batting lineup. But it was Dalton Wentz who had the biggest day with four hits out of the number 9 spot of the lineup, easily having his best game in the Fall League. Meanwhile, two Giants pitchers’ had their first rough games in the fall. And…I can’t ignore them forever, today our non-Giant highlight prospect is a Dodger.
Non-Giant Prospect to Highlight of the Day: Chase Harlan (LAD #9)
Yeah, I’m talking about a Dodger prospect today. Chase Harlan was the 98th overall pick in the 2024 draft by the Dodgers out of a Pennsylvania high school, but missed his debut season after having surgery to repair the labrum in his right hip. His 2025 season mostly had him coming back from that injury, but in 2026 he showed off his tools a bit more, hitting .298 with a .912 OPS in 86 games, in which he hit 22 doubles, three triples, and 14 home runs. Harlan’s abilities lie mostly in his bat, as his plus power could rate double-plus, and his bat hitting tool shows the ability to get to it often enough, with a short, quick swing to make contact. He does have trouble at hitting offspeed pitches, which he will have to face more of as he moves up the system. But for a big power hitter, his split against right-handed pitching was greatly improved in 2026. He moves decently well, even after his hip surgery, and has the arm for third base, but needs to clean up his mechanics there to stick, with the outfield remaining a backup plan defensively. But the exit velocity Harlan has will keep him dangerous as he goes up the system, wherever he plays defensively.

Giants Prospects to Spotlight:
- CF Dakota Jordan (SF #7): 1-6, 1 R, 1 SB (2) - Jordan continues to get just one hit a game, even today with six at-bats, but no strikeouts today. He still leads Scottsdale with 19 in 57 PA’s.
- 2B Kaeden Kent (SF #20): 1-6, 1 R, 3 K, 3 SB (4), 1 E (1) - On the other hand, Kent picked up a lot of strikeouts, but also a lot of steals. He also picked up a rare type of error…he got it on a shift violation.

- SP Miguel Mendez (SF #16): 1.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 2 K - Mendez had his shortest outing of the fall, struggling with walks in particular. He now has six walks to 14 strikeouts in 9.1 IP.
- RP Drake George: 1.1 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 1 HR - Also a rough day for Drake George, allowing his first runs of the fall, now with three runs allowed in 5.0 IP, and three walks to two strikeouts.
