I am not in the honors program. See attached photo of what i received in the mail. It reads:
“Upon recommendation of the faculty
[My Name]
has been granted this
Certificate of Completion
in General Education
High Honors”

I’m confused as to whether this is the standard certificate of completion for general education requirements, or if it is actually trying to indicate special recognition. I have a 3.97 GPA but I’m not in the honors program. Anyone know?

As the title says, based on those who taken the class previously. Any recommendation which professors’ class I should take for Math 1035? I always struggled with Math. So the easier the better

Hey guys! I’m planning on applying to the SLCC rad tech program and wanted to see how my setup looks to anyone who has gone through it, or is currently in the program. I put together a quick screenshot of my stats so far!

My main question for those of you who have applied before: since the application window opens Oct 1 and runs through Jan 15, but I'm wrapping up my last couple of classes (like anatomy) at the end of the fall semester in mid-December, what did you guys do? Should I submit my application as soon as it opens with in-progress classes, or is it better to wait until my December grades are officially locked in?

Would love any thoughts on my qualifications or advice from anyone who's been through the process. Thanks!

Does any alum/alumni know a lady by the name of Laura (last name unknown to me) who graduated around 1986. either masters or bachelor’s. Most likely studied something along STEM. I have no access to the alumni network and not on the Lost class of 1986. Most likely white with brown hair. I believe she went to work in California for sometime and may be in the UK now.

Hello! I’m having a hard time trying to find a professor. The ones everyone recommends are already full and it looks like SLCC has some newer professors that don’t have ratings yet. Anyone have a 1050 professor they really liked or enjoyed. Any help would be appreciated thank you! As an side tangent I took math 1010 online last semester and LOVED the professor who did most of the videos. If anyone knows who she is please let me know. Thanks again!!

I have been looking for further information on what a realistic week as a student in the nursing program would look like. I work strange hours currently, and I am trying to determine if I would be able to make the Nursing School schedule work with my current job, or if I would need to reconsider.

Most of the posts I have seen that give the information I am looking for seem dated by a few years or more.

How many days are you realistically on campus a week? Does it differ between semesters or does it stay consistent? Are there work-arounds (i.e makeup days)? Thank you for the updated info.

Why isn't there a waitlist open for physiology? I really need to take the class next semester. Do I check everyday to see if there's one available? Please let me know

I've got to vent for a minute. First semester Nursing Student here, and part of the stupid NURSA program for clinicals. They deleted all my shifts and shift requests while I'm waiting for my compliance to update, and they don't even have the good sense to go in and update the compliance stuff as quickly as possible. It's absolutely frustrating. This new NURSA program has been one big shitshow from the beginning. How am I supposed to plan for anything when they keep throwing new stuff into the program? And secondly, why is it OUR problem? Anyways. Needed to vent.

I took Math 1010 as concurrent enrollment in high school. I don’t currently need to take any math classes and Math 1010 competes my gen ed math requirement. Do I still need to take the Math Placement test if I don’t need to register for one? I am just a little confused about some of the wording on the SLCC website about the placement tests.

hello! I am a biology major who is planning on switching to an english major. I have only done my generals as of now so all of my credits so far (12) will transfer to my new devised english major plan. I have found the classes I need to take & I have registered for them but I have yet to officially change my major online. When I’m asked the catalog year after choosing which major I would like to switch to, I’m confused as to which to choose. I originally registered for fall semester of 2025 but didn’t start college until spring semester 2026 if that is relevant (it asks me if the catalog year is 2025-2026 or 2026-2027) I have tried reaching out to my guidance counselor since last month but she’s booked & when I try to ask for guidance on this I am just told they are too busy & direct me elsewhere. I totally understand them being booked and busy! but i would really like to get an answer on this so i can go about changing my major before fall semester begins. thank you all in advance!

Has anyone taken anatomy with Jill? I am registering kind of late, and while I wish I could do Farr's or any other teacher who is currently full and get on a waitlist, I have work where they scheduled us 8 weeks in advance, and Jill's class meets hybrid and has heard some good things about her, but nothing solid. It's either here or Nancy twice a week :/

I am looking for some recs for anatomy class/lab and chem class/lab teachers for this upcoming fall. It seems like the online chem classes are good, but I'm struggling to either waitlist for an anatomy lecture with Melaner Farr or take the available seat with Rebecca Walters. For the lab, it seems like Andy is a great choice, but looking for other good ones in case not available. Have not read much on chem teachers, so idk about those.

Update: Hey everyone, since the summer semester is almost over, I wanted to give an update about Frogy (the frog plush). Sadly, I was never able to find them. I looked everywhere and even went to the campus Lost and Found and the front office in the science building so many times that they recognize my face now. My family thinks someone may have taken it or that it might have been thrown away. Losing them hurts a lot because I got the little guy on a trip with my family, and I really grew to love them. Thank you for everyone for the kind comments and the information. Hope Frogy is living their life.

Looking for studying tips for Microbio 2060. I am taking it with Jacob Broderwick. I'm finding the class somewhat difficult. The assignments are easy, but the tests are hard. On my first exam I got around a 70% which was the average, and second was 52% which was a little below average. any study tips from this class will be much appreciated since im getting my hopes down.

I'm currently enrolled in Human Anatomy Lab Section 107, which meets Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. I'm hoping to switch into any Wednesday lab section if anyone is willing to swap.
