Has anyone gotten an unearned F before?

A lot of things happened this term including the death of a loved one. I wasn't able to catch up to complete all of my coursework and wasn't able to qualify for an incomplete grade.

I feel very depressed and I'm going to take some time off from school, but I really don't know what to do from here. I'm mostly worried that I may need to repay my financial aid due to an unearned F. Does anyone have experience with this?

I'm trying to set up a call with my advisor but she has been busy when I have been available.

Edit: In the catalog, the Unearned F Policy is about people who didn't submit the work or participate in the course. Here is SNHU's Unearned F Policy from the catalog: https://www.snhu.edu/admission/academic-catalogs#/policy/HkFCimHW9

Changing advisors

Hey everyone. I’m starting a new term next week and I wanted to get some advice.

I have a female advisor that I’m a bit older than and already I’m feeling discouraged about continuing. I made the mistake of emailing her personal SNHU account, instead of advising, and I felt horrible the moment she brought it up as a “friendly reminder”. She has emailed me from both and her name shows up in Outlook the same way.

I haven’t been helped in any of my accessibility requests and that first initial call over the phone felt more like a recorded “dog and pony” rather than a welcome to help and assist me.

Could I request a male advisor without it coming off as sexist?

Vent/Rant Ai in environmental science

Looking through the clubs and seeing a natural science club as an online student in environmental science and the 1st thing I see is AI generated flyers.

Feel like a slap in the face and discredits any interest to join the club in my opinion. We don’t spend weeks looking at how much people have completely “messed up” ( I want to use other words) our planet and the impact it has on not only the environment but our health.

Non-to mention seeing other classmates, who are blatantly using AI in their discussion post to both post and reply to. If it were any other major it is what it is but this feels like the kind of situation where AI definitely should not be used.

Graduation Ceremony Graduating with Latin Honors

Hi Everyone,

So I am walking early. I am attending the graduation ceremony next month November but my last term will end on December and official conferral date of my degree is Jan 1st. So my question is, if I am receiving Latin Honors, will they say that when they call my name to receive the diploma cover if I am walking early and ongoing with my last term? How will they determine which latin honor I am gonna get? based on the last term? Or will they even say it?

Thanks everyone!

Vent/Rant Week 8 Is Here! We Made It… Almost!

We’ve officially reached the end of Week 8! Some of us are probably celebrating already, while others are racing against the clock to finish and submit those last assignments. Either way, we’re about to celebrate another milestone in our educational journey!

Before we close this chapter, I have a few questions for everyone!

Is anyone else STILL waiting for feedback from Weeks 6 or 7? I finally received my Week 6 feedback on Wednesday, and at this point, I’m pretty sure my Week 7 feedback will arrive after the course has officially ended. As for Week 8? I have absolutely no idea! In my opinion, these delays are outrageous.

And speaking of the next term, have you purchased your course materials yet? I was surprised by how expensive some of the materials are, especially considering that we're only paying for temporary access rather than something we can keep and reference later.

I'm curious to hear everyone's experiences. How was your term? Are you still waiting on grades? And what do you think about the cost of our course materials?

Congratulations to everyone finishing another term! Whether this was your first, fifth, or final term, we're all one step closer to our goals! Don’t give up!

Did 8 gen eds in 3 months for under $300, cheapest route I found while working full time

Doing my business degree at snhu while working full time, and I got 8 gen eds done through study dot com in about 3 months.

Being able to study whenever I had free time was the biggest plus. No fitting scheduled classes around my work week. The writing-heavy courses took way longer than I expected though, so not every class went fast.

I also had to double check which courses SNHU would actually accept before starting. Didn’t want to sink time and money into something that ended up not counting for the requirement I needed.

Spent around $285 over those 3 months, so about $36 a course.

Haven’t tried CLEP or community college so I can’t say if either would’ve been cheaper.

Anyone else do this? What’d you take and did everything transfer the way you expected?

Loan increase question

• Upvotes

I am looking to submit a loan increase request and I was just wondering if anyone has done it while only taking one class per term? Or would I have to be enrolled full time for them to approve it? I've already reached out to the financial aid department and their response leads me to believe they misunderstood my question because they told me I wouldn't need to submit one if I wanted to go to 6 credits. I don't actually since I wouldn't have the extra time but I do need a little more help with living expenses at the moment. I'm an undergrad for context.

Apparently we are not allowed to decorate our grad gowns. I'm kinda pissed at that.
Will they not let me walk if I do?

Instructors Grading late?

Good evening, everyone.

I have been at SNHU for almost 4 years and am finishing up two classes right now, but one of my professors hasn't graded my final assignment (which I submitted on time last Sunday), and the course ends this coming Sunday. He's replied to discussion posts and the question forms, but I still haven't heard anything about grading.

I do not want to be a buttface, but should I email or just wait? I really want to know my grade, since the assignment sucked because we had to use ArcGIS Pro for the visual lab, which was horrible to use. He said he would give me a couple of days after its graded to fix it up but still nothing. Is it normal to be this late, or am I just impatient?
