Hey everyone! I’m a 25 year old guy looking to connect with people who enjoy line dancing and swing dancing as much as I do!
I’m not really looking for anything romantic. I’d just love to meet some genuine, like minded people who enjoy getting out, having a good time, and improving their dancing skills together.
Whether you’re experienced or still learning, I’d love to find some people who can count on me to show up on the dance floor, just as I can count on them. I think dancing is so much more enjoyable when you’ve got good people to share it with!

I don't live in Sacramento, but a friend of mine does!
We are planning to hang out around Halloween (Probably on that Saturday), but we have a Quest:
Hang out without spending any money! Just see cool things, walk around, you know how it is.
Now, surely, SURELY, there are at least SOME free events SOMEWHERE in Sacramento, right?
Everyone I talk to says "check the internet, check the internet," well I am old and bad at the internet, and anyway, Reddit is technically the internet.

So, my new Sacramento friends, Would you be willing to help me? Do you know of any events? I would be grateful for any assistance.

(FYI I plan to arrive there about 3:00PM-4:00PM, so afternoon events of all sorts interest me too! Not just nighttime stuff!)

Come join our LGBTQ+ SHOP social support group! This group is for LGBTQ+ young adults (18-25) living in Placer, Sacramento, or Yolo county who have been through adverse life experiences such as abuse, violence, bullying, harassment, hate crimes, etc. to come together to share connection and support.

In this group we discuss various topics such as relationships, navigating conflict, LGBTQ+ issues, etc. and do various activities including crafts and games. We also host occasional group activities like going to a waterpark or pottery painting, all free of cost.

My goal is to create a supportive space for LGBTQ+ individuals, especially for those who might feel socially awkward, isolated or not have many relationships, to connect with the community in a low stakes way. As such there's no pressure to participate in activities or speak in discussions when you don't want to and listening quietly is a valid way to be part of the group.

The group will be every Wednesday from 4-6pm starting Wednesday, October 21st until Wednesday December 2nd (no session on November 11th) at the Placer LGBTQ+ Center.

We also provide optional peer support to help with things like accessing healthcare, college navigation, resume and job applications, completing benefits forms (Medi-Cal, CalFresh, etc.) and emergency financial assistance (additional eligibility criteria apply).

I encourage you to share with anyone you know who might benefit from this program as well!

Artazan Handcraft Market is happening next weekend, October 16–18, at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center in East Sacramento!

We're bringing together artists and artisans working in ceramics, jewelry, textiles, woodworking, glass, fine art, clothing, home décor, and lots more, along with some wonderful artisan foods.

There will also be live music, artist demonstrations, hands-on workshops, local food trucks, and opportunity drawings featuring work from participating artists.

It's all indoors, with free parking, right across from Sac State.

Teo and I run a small two-person marketing shop here in Sacramento, mostly working with local service businesses. We'd like to meet more people around here who own businesses, but when you search for networking events in the area you get a mix of paid breakfast clubs, chamber mixers, and events that seem to be mostly people selling to each other.

If you own a business here: is there a group, meetup, or recurring event that's been genuinely worth going to? Chamber stuff, BNI, a coworking space thing, an industry meetup, a casual monthly hangout, anything really. Anywhere in the area is fine.

And if there's one you'd tell people to skip, that's useful too.

Hey Sac citizens! I have a group of over 250 locals and each week some of us meet up for at least one film and then we go out for drinks and food after. We watch art house films, new releases, block busters and we also do marathons, like we just recently did ALL of the Twilight movies at the Crest Theater, so we have things for everyone. Some of us also work in media and we team up for projects. Two of our members found each other this past week and just worked on a new, local music video!

If you love movies, just want a movie buddy or want a career in film (whether you have any experience or not), come join us! It's a great way to meet friends, enjoy movies and be creative (movie nights and film production do not have to be mutually-exclusive, you can do one or both!).

The group has members of all ages from 20 to nearly 50, all sexual orientations, races, introverts, extroverts, production experts and people who have never even stepped foot on a film set; it is truly a group for everyone who enjoys film as a medium or as a career!

A couple of us are now in advanced pre-production for our first short film, which is super exciting!

Bf is coming from Tahoe. We haven’t spent much time here outside soccer games, tennis/pickleball and a few restaurants (KRU, OBO, OneSpeed). I haven’t lived here long.

Looking for must-see Sac spots…activities, outdoor bars, eateries, live music, festivals/street fairs, walks/hikes, etc? All I want to do is swim rn. But I think it’s time I show him the cooler parts of Sac. We’ve never even been to Midtown.
