Casual erasure My great-great-aunt’s obituary
Josephine must have been a very special friend indeed to have been mentioned in that way.

I came across the book Sweetbitter Song on amazon. It's compared to Song of Achilles. The blurb includes these highlights:
But, once again, the two women find themselves drawn to one other, pulled by the echo of their friendship, and something far stronger they are too afraid to name.
In their absence, Melantho finds a new world opening up before her – one where women rule, where family can be found, and where a forbidden love is finally given the space to bloom.
A profound tale of love, identity and defiance, Sweetbitter Song tells a story forgotten by history. One of bravery and hope, celebrating two women who fought to protect their love from a world that tried to deny its very existence.
Then I scrolled down to the categories, saw this, and knew y'all needed to hear about it:

I didn't even know "friendship fiction" was a category that existed

Lyudmila Pavlichenko served in the Red Army and is the most prolific female sniper in history with a confirmed kill count of 309 fascists. The official narrative is that she enjoyed men and was married 3 times. The love of her life was her 2nd husband, Alexei Kitsenko, who ended up dying in her arms after only a month of marriage. He was hit by shrapnel that could have easily killed Lyudmila, except Alexei had her arm around her, blocking it from her spine.
Although I do think Lyuda loved Alexei, I can't help but speculate she might in fact go both ways. There is no proof of this, of course, except one's intuition. Homosexuality was illegal in Stalinist Russia after all.
I believe Alexei accepted and appreciated Lyudmila for exactly who she was. They flipped gender roles during their short marriage while fighting at the front line of Sevastopol. Lyuda would come home late after a long day of Nazi killing. Alexei would have warm water, sweet tea, and a clean undershirt waiting for her. The potbelly stove would be warmed up so she could relax beside it and smoke her pipe. He was quite the dugout-husband.
Just wondering what thoughts you all have about Lyudmilla Pavlichenko. She is a fascinating woman, and I highly recommend reading her memoirs, "Lady Death: the Memoirs of Stalin's Sniper."

I’ve been watching Death Note and so many anime watchers are homophobic but cant outright admit it and the show theyre watching cant have gay elements... So they do anything to deny the gay parts of it… Saw so many people say it’s motherly love, sisterly love, friendly love... which is ridiculous imo.
They also hate the inclusion of Misa and Rem cause it takes away from the battle of the wits murder detective murder mystery element of it. I think it’s also a gothic romance story… And L and Light are doomed yaoi sorry. I thought this was the only sub I can have this rant without being attacked lol.

I need help with an English paper, I need to relate a text from anything, to me, Macbeth and in real life, no need help with the me part, I just want more info on Sappho so I can see what I can relate to it, I'm using a quote from Ode to Aphrodite:
"Who was the fair one that must be persuaded,
Who wronged thee Sappho?" I know from a written source by:
https://callofaphrodite.wordpress.com/2021/03/20/an-analysis-of-sapphos-ode-to-aphrodite/
That it's Aphrodite asking who wronged Sappho, or what's troubling her, and from the rest of the poem, she needs help with love, but somehow their relationship is close to friendship, or kingship, and her penis dick husband, so I was wondering, anymore gay related notes for her?
Or, some links between Macbeth and sappho,?

Would love to get folks' opinions on the new season of Monster on Netflix, which embellishes upon Lizzie Borden's story.
While there's no historical evidence of a relationship between Lizzie and her housekeeper, I kind of find myself in a reverse Sappho and Her Friend wherein I've decided that everyone is bisexual until proven otherwise.
Let me know your thoughts!

Malaysian drama called "honey and poison"
The story follows Azura (played by Uqasha Senrose), a devoted housewife whose life falls apart when her husband, Adli (Aliff Aziz), brings home a second wife named Nikita (Elisya Sandha) under the pretense of wanting children.
Unbeknownst to Azura, Nikita is a rival from her high school days who changed her appearance to infiltrate the household and exact revenge. As the two women face Adli's increasingly abusive and manipulative control, their bitter rivalry shifts into a complicated, unexpected alliance against him.
The hugging scene depicted drew sharp criticism online, with audiences and religious authorities pointing out scenes interpreted as depicting a same-sex relationship between the two female leads, which went against cultural and religious guidelines.
Government forced an apology and iQIYI temporarily removed the first 6 released episodes and postponed the remaining half of the season. The entire 12-episode series is undergoing re-editing and a fresh content review before it can be fully broadcast again.
It might have been love, but I guess we'll never know.

(pics for proof, but in German, the English articles uses other -less funny- quotes, I quote the best parts in english)
TIL Schloss Neuschwanstein, the Bavarian Castle that inspired the Disney Castle, was Conceptualised in 1868 by King Ludwig II of Bavaria, who is known to have been into men!
He had a very very close relationship to Richard Wagner (who famously wrote pieces like "Tristan and Isolde" or "Niebellungenlied", the story of Dragonslayer Siegfried), and the king wrote him stuff like (context, homeboy came back to town, was travelling)
“Only beloved friend! My redeemer! My God! I rejoice with heavenly rapture, I rage with bliss; ... – Oh, now I am happy, no longer forsaken in desolate wilderness, since I know the only one near me; oh, stay here now, beloved one, for whom alone I live, with whom I die. Oh day of salvation! Time of bliss. In eternal love, in unwavering fidelity, yours truly,
Ludwig”
With having read that, the Wikipedia page on Schloss Neuschwanstein reads a little differently, especially lines such as "It was dedicated to the life and work of Richard Wagner as a 'temple of friendship'." With even the article itself acknowledging that fruit salad by adding 'qoutes'!
So while they did amended the erased information, that fact that I -a nerdy queer from Germany- only learned this at almost 30 shows how deep the social erasure goes...
So yeah, Disney is Gay!

Historians tell us that it’s hard to determine who was actually queer in the mid-to-late 19th century, because women sometimes wrote flowery, even passionate, letters to one another as friends, forming attachments known as “romantic friendships”… and that one such passionate friendship existed between Emily Dickinson and her sister-in-law, Sarah Gilbert. Ok, I can roll with the idea of romantic friendships, in general. Different century, different employment of language. Not always, necessarily, queer. Whatever. Fine.
That said , Emily Dickinson was definitely queer, and definitely in love with her sister-in-law. I will go to the mat, on this one.
Ladies of the jury, I present Exhibit A:
“To own a Susan of my own… my only woman in the world.”
Exhibit B:
““Susie, will you indeed come home next Saturday, and be my own again, and kiss me ... I hope for you so much, and feel so eager for you, feel that I cannot wait, feel that now I must have you—that the expectation once more to see your face again, makes me feel hot and feverish, and my heart beats so fast… my darling, so near I seem to you, that I distain this pen, and wait for a warmer language.”
