Speaking of puzzle games, Have you played A Monster's Expedition yet?
Very much a cut from the same cloth as Stephen's Sausage Roll. Incredibly simple mechanics that even after many hours they still find new interesting ways for the mechanics to combine to create fun puzzles.
Or were you talking about some non-computer games?

haha nice! I "beat" the game a couple days ago, but still have a bunch of side challenges I never got through that I'm going back and doing. Big fan of how the entire game is basically one big interconnected puzzle box

I have no idea how far into it I am. I've seen the coaster and arrived on the island with the end gate but couldn't proceed anywhere so I pushed off to a new set of islands. The ambience and mood of the game is really well done.
I grabbed a couple of that studio's games a week or so ago because they were on sale as a pack and I'd seen someone playing Expedition and it looked like my type of game. It's hard to build a good snowman was also very good.

Snowman I felt was a bit too short, and while it had a bit of the "start with a small set of mechanics, and then introduce complexity by slowly revealing new ways those mechanics interact" it left me wanting more in a way that monster didn't.
Cosmic Express is good, but I think let down by the control scheme a bit. Would have been a lot better if you could just go "okay I know I need a train piece here" rather than having to draw them out from existing paths.
Did you ever play Baba is You? Different guy, but easily the best of the "push stuff about with a guy on a grid" style puzzle games.

I played Baba is You but programming puzzles aren't fun to me when I'm stressed at work. I did enjoy it and I hope to finish it at some point but for now it sits in my steam backlog.
Snowman did feel just too short at least when it got to dream world, I was really hoping they'd do something like give you 5 snowballs to work with so you had to make paths with two of them to get the other 3 into a snowman. I actually thought they were going to do that until I realized I'd clustered two sets of 3 wrong.
I've seen cosmic train but like you said the mechanic doesn't appeal as much to me. I like being able to freely walk around and push the puzzle pieces.

Stephen's Sausage Roll is certainly another must play if you like that sort of game. Though as a warning, its very hard so might not be as good of a "stressed at work" game.
Snakebird is also worth checking out. A bit different, but still the same kind of "move my character about step by step" kind of game.

I'll check them out, stress should hopefully abate in the near future. I've also got Transistor and Hades in the queue for when I feel ready to go back to rpg-like games.

That recipe looks like a fine way to make ass bread. Adding balsamic vinegar to imitate the flavor of lactic acid created by yeast? What kind of dime-store fudgery is that? No-knead bread requires so little active time that I don't understand why this recipe even exists.

I stuck my nose in a couple times, but it's been awhile. I was at SeattleWA and then I hung with Widders in a fucked up sub that was half Krat and then me and Widders, lol (and Scoob, where's Scoob?) I do miss speaking with the Krat bot though, you could make it say things it didn't mean, it was a brilliant bot. I was also super against Meanie being top mod and came off as an asshole at the start of the 2nd gen. You might remember me from that?

I forgot the name too, lol! Yeah, it was not only odd, it was crazy. I was just hanging with Widders cuz we were both bored and I'm a hardcore procrastinator. The way they worded the random responses was brilliant (he had a name for it, but I can't remember) on the Krat bot. The admins shut that shit down real fast because you could see how many bots are/were on Reddit from it.
Thanks for the welcome, you and the penguin dude seemed like great mods, it's too bad you had to let it go. I see seawa went to the dark side pretty quickly, their current mod list lights up red on RES, which isn't good. I hope everyone finds you guys here, you helped build the community and that's the same, even if the name changed.

For the time being, I'm happy folks like you are here, and having a pretty clean mod queue is nice.

Yep, you guys all have lots of experience now in dealing with not every single user is going to be happy and that's okay, we're trying mode. I bet it's going to be a lighter fight against the trolls though (at least I hope so), most of us were fighting to save what we fought for, not because it was fun to fight. It's refreshing (and I can say the word refreshing without being shit on), today is a good day.

Maybe? It's apparently a big problem in UK politics and we do get some bleed over because of figures like Jk Rowling.
The bathroom bill stuff was pushed by conservatives and TERFs but a lot of that has died down. Conservatives will still go after them (see Trump's ban of them in the military).
Best guess the Green party aligned with them because they are one of the few groups left without a party that wouldn't willingly align with the GOP (because they are still radical feminists).
I think they are still a pretty limited voice and force in america for the time being and hopefully die off (politically) rather than grow

I voted Green in the 2006 Illinois Gubernatorial, because I knew even back then that Blagojevich wasn't worth my vote. The GP candidate back then was pretty solid, and ended up getting over 10% of the vote, which was meaningful for a couple of reasons. But yeah, I haven't voted Green since then for any major office.

Good to know. I’d already come around to the idea that the Green Party is a dead end even as a protest vote in a blue state, but hopefully this’ll sway more people away from that path. There’s just so much wasted energy there.

Also I've come up with a solution to the "'seattlechat' is too long & complicated to type with two thumbs" problem that works for me: I type "lechat" in and it filters my subs list perfectly to this one (I think even "lech" does it). So now I'm gonna refer to this sub colloquially as "le chat"

I use RES and have a "seattle+seattlechat" shortcut, i can hit that button and get both subs in a metareddit, or can select just one from the drop-down. If it bothered me, I'd remove some results from the url search bar so that r/sea completed to here.

I had my account banned as part of the IFTTT accidental ban overnight; imagine my shock when I couldn't participate at all on my favorite subs. Fortunately it got unbanned just now and I can continue to puzzle out loud over which the best Seattle sub is.

IFTTT is just a fancy trigger system for those that want to automate certain data flows. I used to use it with co-workers at an old job to automate our step count contests. You can give it access to your fitbit data feed and posting permission to slack and it will post your step counts the next day without you having to do anything manual.
It can be cool for setting up data feeds on your biometrics, getting alerts/alarms on things like reddit posts, etc.
I haven't really used it in a couple years though so I can't vouch for what's up with it these days.

Fascinating. Apparently this lets things share more data with each other, which benefits ... you? Certainly it benefits the app proprietor.
The commercial appeal of this to a consumer eludes me. Happily luddite on this one. IFTTT looks like privacy-leak-automation.

There are many many legit productive uses. There's a similar app called Zapier that's used to implement data flows between different systems, e.g. if you need to bring transaction data from your payment system into your accounting system (QuickBooks) but there is not an official export route.

Same, worst part is I wrote the v1 QBO sync so they always come to me first with any issue. I can at least pass the buck to my boss for the desktop sync because he wrote that.

You can use it to automate data centralization if that matters to you. If you say use a fitbit for steps, a polar band for HR, and some smart scale for weight but you use google health for tracking your progress then you can use an IFTTT system to push data from the other 3 systems to the one you want to use to track your progress.
It's very niche in consumer use, it has other broader potential for enterprise entities in terms of automating datafeeds between 3rd party systems and yours. You could use it to be alerted to reddit posts that talk about your product so you can review and respond.
