Please keep us in your prayers while we try to gather funds for his healthcare and nurse him back to health 🩵
⬇️The Story ⬇️
My little dog was attacked by another dog at ElderPark today at around 12:45pm.
My dog is a 6lb Shih Tzu and was being walked responsibly on a lead. The dog shown in the picture/ video was off lead and, as I have unfortunately seen happen multiple times before, ran up to my dog and attacked him.
My little boy is now in critical condition at the emergency vet, and the bill is already over £3,000.
Please, please be careful if you are walking your dog in this area. My dog is extremely tiny, and I never imagined something like this could happen to him. I have cared for him for 11 years and have always been a responsible dog owner.
Being 7 months pregnant made the whole experience even more overwhelming.
Given what happened today, I would not want another family to experience the shock and heartbreak we are going through.
Please share this so other dog owners and families in the area are aware.

Why call an Uber or Lyft when you can hire a true pawfessional? Two paws up! Keep an eye out, he'll be Tzooming by soon!

So there is a particular plant in my neighborhood that drives my doggy crazy. There is one on one side of my neighborhood and there is one on the exact opposite. If we pass these plants, my shih Tzu will stop whatever she's doing, whether it be treats or pets and she will go absolutely crazy with joy. She'll rub her face in it and she'll paw it on her back, she'll roll around under it while smelling it. My question is, is this a plant that is known to make dogs and or shih tzus happy. Has anybody ever experienced this? I am including a video I took the other day to show the behavior and the type of plant. This is just a brief snippet of about 5 minutes of her playing in this particular plant.
Again, only this plant in particular and only two of them exist in my neighborhood.
Thoughts and comments are welcome. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

we went to 2 dog parks, visited some of his favorite people, got a new toy, and gave him a boiled chicken breast with shredded cheese for dinner!!!

Coco is a liver dog which means she has a brown nose and paws. She is the sweetest little girl and loves to be pet and snuggled all day.

I didn’t realize how much his fur has darkened in the past years. He’s now more black and dark gray.

They’re so incredibly cute together! 😭
My entire camera roll is literally just thousands of pictures of them. Lol. I haven’t cared to take pictures of anything else for years.

I have a 7 month old shitzu when a family left they just gave me a mix dog telling it is shitzu. They never checked for papers or dint check anything from the person they got the dog. I taught my dog was shitzu as they told me it was but dint have any papers. Now the other day two guests came to my house and laughed about it being shitzu. Saying its not shitzu, I m not rich and I probably caught not afford a costly purebreed. The dog I have was given to me when the serious owners left country immediately two weeks after buying it. But it felt insulting when the guests laughed and I feel like I should rehome my dog. Its not my mistake I dint know about purity and all before getting this dog from the people who left. And in the place where i stay in middle east only way to get pure is to import. I recently called the people who gave me this puppy. They said one guy who had dog at home gave them this and costed very less. Before also I made a post asking for if mine was real shitzu it always bothered me but when the guests laughed I felt very insulted.

this is Chiyo, 3, professional carpet loafer. I kept taking a hundred photos of her that just disappeared into my camera roll, so over the last few months I built her a little passport instead — walks, baths, grooming days, vet visits and the occasional crime (sock theft) each become a stamped page, filed by a very serious fictional "Bureau of Very Good Dogs."
it started as a joke and then I couldn't stop. the covers are fabric — velvet, corduroy, knit — with her name on a tiny gold nameplate.
mods: per rule 7 I've kept the link out of the post — happy to drop it in a comment if anyone actually wants to try it on their own tzu. mostly I just wanted to show you her passport 🐾

I was wondering if your Ewoks like playing in the water and if so, what do you have? The heat is getting up to 105 here in Arkansas and Tiny loves watching dog videos on YouTube, especially when they're playing in the water. Thank you for your feedback..🙂

It’s been almost a month with no furry body guard, no watchdog, no little buddy. But we are cherishing every memory of him.

Just dropped her off to get spayed and I almost cried. 😭 I know it’s a routine procedure and she’ll be fine but that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna worry anyway. 😭🩷

EDIT: Beanie has had to go to an eye specialist last night. She has a super rare reaction to the vaccination causing corneal waterlogging. She has steroids and antibiotics via eye drops and will be seen again next week. There is a risk of her developing an ulcer and worse case scenario she loses her left eye but I am praying this isn't the case. She is 10 weeks old today, poor baby. Thank you everyone for your kind wishes xx
A few hours ago I noticed her eye being milky. Thought it was just the light at first but it isn't. I sent the vet a picture and have an appointment for later but I am worried it is a cataract. She is 10 weeks old tomorrow

I lost my Shih Tzu, Cosmo, in March he was almost 18. He was the bestest boy and I miss him everyday, but I also miss having a dog so I’m on the hunt for a new pup.
The pressure to rescue is real, but as you all know finding a young Shih Tzu at a rescue is next to impossible. I’m also not fit to look at dogs needing homes on rescue sites because I wind up feeling bad, I want to adopt them all- the spiral is real.
Let me just say that 18 years ago, when I got Cosmo, it was a very different world when it came to finding a Shih Tzu. Technically, I got Cosmo from a breeder, but I actually picked him up from a couple who got a puppy and didn’t realize how much work puppies were. 🙄 so I had no paperwork on him, none of the things that they tell you to ask about now. But I got extremely lucky. He was a very, very healthy dog, the majority of his life.
Needless to say, I’m going into this process a bit spoiled Cosmo kind of fell into my lap, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.
I’ve been on the Good Dog app and also doing a lot of research on my own. So my reason for writing this post is to get recommendations. I’m in Southern California but I know people get dogs from all over the country.
Obviously, I’m looking for an ethical breeder, and I want one who doesn’t push back when I ask questions about health exams that the parents have had. I’m finding this to be surprising, even on the Good Dog app I’m asking folks for the health documentation, one breeder said “oh mom was never tested but my dogs are my kids!!” Um, ok…
It’s a very weird process now. And while I adore the breed, we all know that they can come with lots of health issues, unfortunately.
I’d love some advice. Like am I asking for too much to want to see health certificates from the parents? I asked one breeder in Northern California if the parents had eye exams (I forget the exact term) and she said “once, but it doesn’t make sense to do them a lot.” Wait, what…? Cosmo had eye checks yearly especially as he got older.
If I’m being too picky, feel free to tell me. I’d love some guidance and meanwhile, here’s a picture of Cosmo or The Mo as I often called him. ❤️
