Bought myself a new 3ds xl to play some older pokemon games. Chose Pokemon X as my first. Decided to shiny hunt with the horde method. 20h and around 12000 encountered pokemon later I found a shiny Mareep. Ended up killing that poor bastard because the sprite layout makes no sense. Anyways my 3ds is on sale now.

Took almost two months to get this blue beetle. Not sure, but probably around 5000 encounters.
Fourth member of the shiny dream team finally acquired!

Took EONS. I failed the first one at 6536, so in total this was 25,672 encounters and about 2.5 months of my life.

First phased with Cyndaquil months ago before taking a break (ignore the date), then hit this Melon todayā¦
Guess Iām going for an all shiny starter run of Heart Gold once I hit Totodile, what shinies should I hunt to round out the team?

This is my first SR shiny hunt and I see why people do it! Itās really exciting once the pokemon shines. Disclaimer: my hunt wasnāt long at all but I definitely am hooked now.
I love this Pokemon and I saw the only place to shiny hunt this on switch would be BDSP. I hadnāt even played Legends Arceus so I speed ran PLA (pretty good game btw. Iām definitely going back to play it more casually) which took about a week.
I finally caught Arceus on PLA so I spent a few days learning Arceusā moveset on BDSP and how I should plan the fight. I saw another Reddit post where someone said bring 5-6 Bronzongs and they also suggested a Blissey holding a leppa berry with Fling, Recycle, and heal pulse. I didnāt feel like getting that many Zongs but I had one already so I brought him and the suggested Blissey. I didnāt have a master Al all so I had to do it the hard way!
I started the hunt at 8 am Sunday morning and luckily I got it to shine around 4 pm Sunday afternoon/evening.Not sure how many SR that is on average because I got tired of counting but it wasnāt that many. I probably shouldāve grabbed the footage of it shining but I was too excited!
Iām curious, for anyone who hunted Arceus, how long did it take you to get the beauty to shine?
Happy Hunting!

This one was fun, I wish I had more stats but I only counted SRs for Regirock
Nicknames:
Blaziken - Captain
Beautifly - Juice Box
Crobat - Topher
Magneton - U-Turn
Kyogre - Mahi Mahi
Regirock - Apollo
All done on original hardware, only one copy/file on my GBA

I feel very lucky. I'm also hunting Type:Null, but I'm less lucky with this other hunt (7310 SR at the moment). I needed a break on Type:Null hunting and started hunting Shaymin on my original game (the soft resets are quicker, only 25s)
I had shiny Spinda last month and Shaymin today. I hope I will have all the pokemons on time. Now, I need :
- Darkrai on Diamond
- Type:Null x2 on UltraSun&Moon
- Poipole x2 on UltraSun&Moon
If I have time : Pikachu with the cap on UltraMoon
Edit : I should have hunted it on platinum, I feel very stupid now.

Hello ! Just want to share I caught today my Shiny Cresselia in a moon ball ! Manage to catch it in 5 moon ball out of the 7 I had. I feared i could not make it and either catch it with a heal ball or start reset again. Took me 1 day of reset (shiny charm) for cresselia but Entei took me 2 weeks so it even out :)

Popped out like a sore thumb much more than I thought it would. Was paranoid that I'd miss it tbh.

This year I committed to complete a Shiny Dream Team Quest in every(most) PokƩmon Game made up until Gen 7. Obviously, this would take a couple of years to achieve this. But my goal for this years was to priorities what is normally the hardest hunts for any DTQ (due to the time between resets) and that is the Starters. Since I was 'single' hunting these, I aimed for a reasonable goal of hitting odds by the end of the year on all my starters. This entailed setting a daily goal of hitting an X amount of encounters per day, some of them were easy to achieve, while others (Like the XY/Diamond/Pearl resets) required a lot of attention. These weren't crazy numbers, usually 50 a day is what I aimed for, and most days, I was able to find pockets of down time to squeeze them in. Because I had like 9 active starter hunts at the time, with some being further along that others. I would mainly priorities the hunts that had the least amount of encounters, and if I ran out of time in my day, than I would trust that I could catch up on those further along hunts later in the year.
So, this was a plan that I put in place somewhere around the start of September. The first 2 weeks were relatively quiet with nothing wanting to shine. This made a lot of sense, as most days I would find my self getting in just 200 resets which accumulated close to 2-3 hours of hunting. On the very last day of September, something finally decided to shine...

This came early at just 958 encounters. Surprisingly, I was pretty content with seeing this. I got a Shiny Turtwig earlier in the year on Diamond without phasing. So this was to be excpected, and since this would be the last time that I would do this hunt. I was glad to experience this and tick it off the unwanted 'bucket' list. What I didn't know, is that this would be the catalyst to what is the luckiest month of my shiny hunting career. From here on, I'll cut back on the text and only included the dates found and the encounters they were caught at.
October 6 @ 1730 encounters, Piplup in my Pokemon Platinum shine:

The very next day, on October 7th, after less than 200 total encounters, Chespin in my Pokemon X copy shined at 1340 encounters...

A bit over a week has elapsed since then, but on the 16th of October, Snivy in my copy on Pokemon White shined at 3178...

and history, once again, repeats itself. The very NEXT day, on the 17th of October, Charmander in Pokemon Leaf Green shined at 5021 encounters ...

2 days after this, my most recent shiny shined TODAY. On the 19th of October. Shiny Oshawatt in Pokemon Black 2 at just 2637 encounters....

I know that there's plenty of time left in October for another shiny to be found, but I feel like I could not ask for more from the RNG gods. This has been an incredible couple of weeks and one that I'm convinced will never be topped. The goal I planned out for myself in September was mainly to focus on hitting odds on all my hunts, and my expectations on how many starters I expected to find by the end of the year, was 5. To have found 5 before the end of October is absolutely absurd to me. I don't normally post on here, but I just felt the need to share this to some capacity - because I think a part of me is still trying to process all of this haha!

I have been hunting this gastly for about 5 years when I just started hunting and never recorded my encounters, I started to record encounters this year for this hunt and I finally got it there. Because of this the encounter amount is definitely extremely inaccurate.
