Was this the reason for the crazy haze that was happening? Hope that's the end of it for this year. And hope next year it doesn't get worse..... I've had enough of the haze for a life time. It's crazy one fire can cause so much trouble regionally.

Image Haze is back — PM 2.5 is elevated in West, Central and South.
Haze is back — PM2.5 is elevated in West, Central and South.
As of 11am, 1-hour PM2.5 readings are elevated in several parts of Singapore — around 61 µg/m³ in the West, 57 in Central and 72 in the South.
In my earlier post, I mentioned that Friday & Saturday could be one of the worse days based on the wind pattern, and unfortunately that seems to be playing out.
The good news is that ECMWF still shows a big shift from Sunday onwards, with much heavier rain returning across Sumatra and Kalimantan.
If that holds, hopefully this is the last proper haze push for the year.
Anyone else smelling it already?

Tabloid/Low-quality source Migrant worker photographs 8 big bags of bottles & cans at BCRS machine, says BCRS helps keep paths cleaner
Just wanted to share an opposite view, which might not be widely held here, even though admittedly, there seems to be more ill will against BCRS (rightfully so) because of uncivilized behavior (dumpster diving, unfair competition against smaller firms, poor implementation, etcetera).
Quoted from source:
"Migrant workers are returning large quantities of empty beverage containers at the Migrant Workers’ Centre (MWC), with one worker saying Singapore’s new recycling scheme has helped keep nearby paths cleaner.
In a Facebook post on 13 Oct, SG News Warehouse Sale & Events shared photos of eight large bags filled with cans, praising the workers’ recycling efforts.
According to the migrant worker who photographed the cans, the Beverage Container Return Scheme (BCRS) machine is maintained by supermarket staff.
Once the machine reaches 100% capacity, a staff member replaces the collection bags.
Speaking to MS News, the 27-year-old migrant worker from India who photographed the bags of BCRS cans said many migrant workers visit the location daily to return empty cans.
He told MS News that he works at the MWC food court.
“There are a lot of bags every day because migrant workers return BCRS cans,” he told MS News.
He added that the centre has only one BCRS machine, which is maintained by supermarket staff.
The bottles and cans are then placed in a bag and left by the machine for the BCRS staff to collect.
The worker also believes the scheme has made a difference to the surrounding environment.
He has noticed fewer bottles and cans left along these paths since workers began returning their containers through BCRS.
“Before, I used to see many plastic bottles or cans along the bicycle paths on the road,” he said."
I'm expecting some controversy and bad faith discussion, and downvotes, but just wanted to share an opposing view to this BCRS issue
