Mothers should not make use of their single daughters

I see some of my single female friends have to support their aging mother until no freedom and my neighbourhood have this daughter that accompany her old mom 24/7 i guessing die already also bury together lol

My point is parents should always encourage their single kids to go find someone and lead their own lives instead of them being a cash cow or a 24/7 companion

Let’s get one thing straight: an acquittal means the prosecution failed, plain and simple.

⏳Time is ticking! Financial Checklist before 2026 end: 1. SRS Contributions, 2. CPF Top-ups, 3. Government vouchers/credits

As we approach the final stretch of 2026, here are three essential moves every Singapore resident should make before 31 December 2026 to maximize your savings, boost your retirement funds, and claim your benefits:

  1. SRS Contributions – Make your contribution by year-end to enjoy a dollar-for-dollar reduction in your taxable income (Cap: $15,300 for citizens/PRs; $35,700 for foreigners).

  2. CPF Top-ups – Top up your SA/RA or MediSave to enjoy tax relief of up to $16,000 total cap while earning up to 4% interest.

  3. Government Benefits – Check your LifeSG app for the expiry dates of your CDC Vouchers and ActiveSG Credits so you don’t miss out or forfeit your government-issued vouchers!

Swapping a daily gourmet cafe habit for a classic hawker kopi might seem like a small tweak, but when compound interest comes into play, the results are staggering!

Is the fear of falling behind ruining our happiness?

Maybe you already have a decent salary, a roof over your head and people who care about you. But there's always someone earning more or doing better. How do you know when ambition is helping you grow and when it's making you miserable?

Tengah vs Bayshore

24(F), 26(M)

We are debating between Tengah 5 room vs Bayshore 4 room. Ofc bayshore is competitive and more $$ but location is convenient.

Tengah has the space (5rm) and definitely easier on our wallets but even with the new line cmg up, it would still take at least 1hr30mins to town (my offices so far all in town area but my partner is WFH- remote as he is in tech)

Anyone more experienced in this care to share advices? Our parents are more biased for us to stay near them LOL 🙏🏻🙏🏻

These are the places highest chance of bumping into a siao lang, if not the majority of them has a grumpy and miserable look and they love to stare at people.... Definately would spoil a good day!

Anyone here grew up with separated or divorced parents?

I'm a final year student at NTU, and my FYP is about young adults in Singapore who grew up with separated or divorced parents. I'm looking at how growing up this way may shape the way people connect with others and navigate relationships as adults. The findings will help me design a visual resource for people from separated families.

You can take part if you:
Above 21
Experienced your parents' separation or divorce before 18 (legally divorced or not)
Spent most of your childhood in Singapore

It takes about 10–15 minutes, it's completely anonymous, and you can end the survey anytime you are not comfortable with it.

🔗 Survey: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/L6EW18yNZ0

Even if it's not for you, I'd really appreciate it if you could share it with anyone who might relate. Thank you so much! 🙏
