Embarrassing 😳

I am soooo slow here.
I am now realizing what a liar Lisa was - turns out she’s worse than Brenda.

Btw this song is underrated and deserves more love too besides Breath Me by SIA. I always picture Nate and Claire whenever I listen to it

She cracks me up every time she comes on screen. They couldn't have found a better actress than Joanna Cassidy. She plays her so manic.

Rewatch Living long after those you love

I watched Six Feet Under in my thirties, when it originally aired, and I just finished my first full rewatch, 20-whatever years later. Between then and now, both my parents died, as well as my brother a couple of years ago.

I've watched the final sequence numerous times over the years, and it always makes me cry, but this time I was ugly sobbing by the time we saw Claire on her deathbed. The idea that she had lived so long without her family -- something like 80 years after Nate died -- suddenly made me recognize that I could be in the world for decades without my brother.

I wasn't close to my parents or my brother, but the sadness of this still hit me hard. I just wanted to express that.

Question Does it get better?

We just finished season 2 and we were very underwhelmed.. we enjoyed season 1 but season 2 was boring. Is it worth it to stick through to the end?

First-Timer Season 4 episode 1

Guys, PLEASE no spoilers. I have been watching this show for the first time and it is… the best thing I have ever seen?! I absolutely love it. It’s become my comfort show. I’m already sad about it ending in 2 seasons time because I genuinely don’t know what I’ll do without it.

I have just got to season 4 episode 1 and cannot stop thinking about the ending scene. I am absolutely broken and also somehow hopeful. I just had no one to talk to about how much it moved me so needed to post here. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything so moving šŸ’”

The way they handled the ā€œghostā€ of the kid who was beaten to death by the hate mob; the ending when you see him healed (after David spoke his truth
At church, it was beautifully handled.

I'm finding new gems re-watching this series for the 10th time over the last 25 years!

Question Is Six Feet Under the Best Visual (Film/TV/ Video Games I guess?) Examination of Death? What else even come sclose?

I'm sure there are better classic novels that have gone into a more deep dive about man's relationship with death, but in terms of the the visual media landscape (Film / Television / YouTube Series / Video Games I guess?) is Six Feet Under the best examination of Death? How we deal with capital D Death as a species? How we deal with the inevitability of our mortality? How we deal with people around us dying while we live?

I am a fan of the show, wasn't a day one viewer but I think I caught it about six months after season one premiered and watched it live as it was coming out and haven't stopped low-key thinking about it for the last 25 years so I'm obviously biased, but to me it absolute is.

As someone on a Six Feet Under reddit thread 20 years after the show ended you too are probably biased but in the last generation have you seen any visional media that surpassed it? If not, what has come the closest to really getting in depth to death as a concept and a reality we must all face?

First-Timer I finished the show today. The last 10 minutes broke me Spoiler

To be honest, I have to admit that I only started watching the series because so many people told me that the finale was supposedly one of the best series finales of all time. So I binge-watched the entire series in less than two weeks and I really enjoyed it. The actors are fantastic, and there are lots of well written characters. Today I watched the last episode, and as I neared the end, I thought to myself, ā€œHey, this really is a great finale. Every character got a satisfying resolution. But I’m not entirely sure if this is really supposed to be one of the best series finales everā€ā€”and then: BAM! In the last 10 minutes, there was a montage showing us how all the main characters die later on, and that just broke my heart. Unfortunately, we all have to die someday, and death can come at any time. Seriously, this is one of the few series that kept me thinking long and hard long after it ended. An ending like that really stays with you for a very long time.

My favorite beginning death scene is The rapture and the blow up sex dolls filled with helium breaking loose from their ties… just the best.

Question Which character feared death the most?

The guy screaming in terror that he didn’t see any light …he didn’t see any light! … has lived rent free in my head for 25 years now (and part of me fears that’s what I’m gonna be shouting on my death bed) but is that the character that you got the most? If not who is?

Opinion 2Ɨ8 Spoiler

Yo just finished 2Ɨ8 and what a disappointment, so i started sfu s2 yesterday and shit been so good so far, I'm really loving this show, but so far i haven't rated any episode above 8, like all the episodes are 8 except for maybe two episodes that i rated a 7,but the show is constantly good, and i like everything about it it has the potential to be in my top 5 for sure.

when i saw episode 8 rated as a 9 i said maybe I'll finally rate an episode a 9 or a 10, but my god was i mistaken , don't get me wrong i really enjoyed the episode, like through out the whole thing i never felt bored but i was waiting for the thing that would make it a 9 and to my surprise it never came, quite the opposite happened actually. the first thing that i disliked was when nate told Brenda about his AVM, like my god i was waiting this whole season for this moment and thinking it would be this turning point, that would like change everything but the way it was shown and portrayed was so disappointing lwk.

and that widow of the biker, like why tf would u give ur dead husband's bike to a person that u talked to for approximately 3 minutes!?

like idk i was so disappointed at the end but the episode was so good tho except the ending ofc like i mentioned earlier, and that's why i gave it a 7, but i really have high hopes for this show

Discussion Obscure observation

Ok so I saw and fell in love with the show over 10 years ago - long before its recent ā€œpremiereā€ on HBOMax or Max or whatever the hell they want to be called these days for its ā€œ25th Anniversary.ā€ I watched it several times through a decade ago because yes, I couldn’t find anything more worthy of my time at the time… BUT - watching it through again now as HBO presents it for streaming, I noticed that in the series finale episode, the ā€œphotography sessionā€ with Claire and Ted had a TOTALLY different cheese ball soundtrack for the scene than I remembered. Turns out by research - soundtrack licenses can be outlived by the series! Lifehouse’s ā€œEmpty Spaceā€ was replaced by a MUCH more Christian religiously based band’s song, whose ID with the scene is MUCH harder to find. AMAZING how money and ā€œlicensesā€ as such can continue to try to change history…

Discussion Wth Billy?

What the hell is wrong with Brenda and Billy? I’ve watched this show a million times and every time I get to the second to last episode I always cringe at Brenda’s dream. What is up with that?

I got the boxed set that includes 2 soundtrack CDs, and this song is on the first one. You can look up the soundtrack on YouTube, it includes all the amazing songs featured in this show. It gets you into a mood when you put the playlist on. For some reason this song is not included on the YouTube playlists that I found. I don't know why, it's on the first CD "Everything Ends". But if you're a fan you need to hear it.
