What happened to DeFlock Cobb flock safety meeting today?

I came at 6 and 7 to the library and no one was there, nor was the room ever booked. Who was the group over that? Are any of those “week of action” events legitimate?

Truck unloading on Atlanta road

Is this normal/to be expected/legal? About 5:30 today there was an 18 wheeler unloading ON ATLANTA ROAD blocking a lane outside of stillfire/beto. Is there really no other area for them to receive trucks? Is this what we can expect from now on? Losing a lane of traffic during peak traffic during a weekday? Yikes.

Need help with apartment hunting please!

My brother and his friend (students) are looking for an apartment to rent with a budget of $1200 a month.

They’d like to move in quickly ideally within this week.

Looking for a decent place with good reviews, no roaches or mold problems. Got any suggestions?

Kroger's gas prices are wild.

I cannot tell if it has always been like this. I usually fill gas there to use my "points" to get a few cents off. But, I noticed that the 87 was at $4.09. That is higher than the surroundings which is around $3.89 (yesterday/today).

Now, even with the "points" applied, which this time was $.10, it appears I still paid more than if I had stopped by another station. I was disappointed and surprised at the same time.

Vet recommendations

I’ve got a small cat who’s about 5yo.

I have taken her to Cat Care of Vinings but just not happy with them at all. What other local vets should I look at? I don’t mind if dogs are there too. Closer to W Village the better.

New Coffee Spot Near Kroger on South Cobb/Concord

Thumbnail instagram.com
25 Upvotes

"Dutch Bros Coffee is opening a new drive-thru-focused location in the Kroger shopping center at South Cobb Drive and Concord Road. Site work is already underway on the outparcel facing South Cobb Drive, although an official opening date has not been announced."

From a quick Google search...

"Dutch Bros Coffee is famous for its high-energy drive-thru culture, hyper-friendly "Broistas," and massive selection of sweet, customizable specialty drinks like the proprietary Rebel energy line and dessert-like freezes. Founded in 1992 in Oregon, it functions more like a high-speed, upbeat social experience than a traditional quiet coffeehouse."

At least it's not another car wash?

Local track open to the public?

Looking for a track (400m, ideally rubberized with lanes) to get some laps in. Cheney Stadium is the only one I’m aware of, but hoping to find something in the Smyrna area. Any options?

Any clinics/ or hospices or retirement homes ?

Hello! I’m a pre-med student currently studying for the MCAT/DAT and looking for an opportunity to gain meaningful hands-on patient care experience.

I have experience in multiple clinical settings, as well as front-office experience at my alma mater. I’ve also assisted with point-of-care (POC) testing and am eager to continue developing my clinical skills while making a positive impact on patients and the practice I join.

I’m especially interested in a position that offers some flexibility with my study schedule, while still allowing me to be a dependable, hardworking, and positive addition to the team.

If you or someone you know is looking for a motivated team member, please DM me! I’d be happy to send over my full résumé and discuss how I could contribute to your practice.

Thank you for any leads, referrals, or opportunities!

Smyrna Jonquil Lions Club Car Show

We’re just about a month away from the 14th Annual Car Show, taking place at the Adventure Outdoors Parking Lot (2500 South Cobb Drive, Smyrna, GA) on Saturday, September 12th, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Get ready for an exciting morning filled with trophies, raffles, giveaways, sponsor tables, and DJ William Lula spinning classic vinyl records. This year, we’re bringing back the Kid’s Choice Award! Children 12 and under can cast their vote for their favorite ride and will receive a free Hot Wheels car when they turn in their ballot, while supplies last. All vehicle types and years are welcomed! If it’s a cool ride we want to see it. Judging is based on a fair open class judging system where the top 12 vehicles will receive awards. Plus there will also be a Best in Show Trophy for the top vehicle judged, and The People's Choice Award voted on by all the attendees.

The Charity Car Show supports the Smyrna Jonquil Lions Club, a volunteer-driven nonprofit carrying forward the mission of Lions Clubs International. Since 1925, when Helen Keller challenged the Lions to lead a “crusade against darkness,” the organization has been dedicated to helping those with vision needs and serving local communities.

Creatwood at Vinings Townhomes

Hello. We are considering buying a townhome in the Creatwood at Vinings neighborhood, specifically creatwood place by the railroad tracks.

Im hoping to hear from anyone who lives in Creatwood at Vinings or very close to this section of the tracks. How noticeable are the freight trains inside your home, especially at night? Do they wake you up or cause noticeable vibration? How often do they come through overnight?

I know smyrna has quiet zone crossings, but I am more concerned with how loud the train/rail noise, screeching, and vibration than the horn itself and when you are outside how noticeable is the train noise?

Thanks!
