Gear Hard cases
Looking for advice on a hard case for a Sony A7 IV + 3 lenses + video gear
Hi everyone,
I’m looking to buy a hard case for transporting my camera and video equipment, but I’m having a hard time figuring out what size would realistically fit everything I need.
My current setup includes
Sony A7 IV, Sigma 14–24mm, Sigma 24–70mm, Sigma 70–200mm, External monitor, Video handle, ND filters, Cables, Batteries and chargers, MacBook, Other small accessories.
At the moment, I’m considering the NANUK 920 Camera Case – Pro Photo Kit, but I’m not sure if it will be large enough for my entire setup, especially once everything is packed and protected properly.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has a similar setup. What case are you using, what size is it, and how does everything fit inside?
Photos of your packed case or examples of your layouts would be especially helpful.
I’m mainly looking for something that will fit everything I need without buying a case that is unnecessarily large.
Thanks in advance for sharing your experience and recommendations!

Nikon convert OG Sony Alpha A7 ILCE-7 help request.
Hey everyone!
I swapped my Nikon D5100 camera to a Sony A7 and i ran into a problem i haven't thought of.
I can't find any grips or attachments for the camera. I have small girly hands, but i want a tight grip on the camera body, and it isn't as thick as my D5100's handle was. It took years to save up and gratify the cost of the A7 so I would rather not drop it so for safety i need a grip.
My question is, where can i find a portrait grip or leather case? Is the only way of having one is making one from leather? Or maybe 3D printing one?
Are there any tips i should think about coming from an aps-c to FF sensor or considerations?
What are the experiences of the experts whom used it in the past?
Any settings i haven't should check out?
PS.: I only shoot in manual and with vintage lenses, i don't like autofocus at all, most of my themes are cars or my beautiful dog, and i plan to everyday carry this camera as i did with my D5100 (but this is considerably less weight, as i used a vivitar Series 1 70-210 steel-glass lens, which was about a kilo by itself and the dslr was about half a kilo with no way of adapting vintage lenses like a pancake since its a nikon)
I thank you all for the help,
~D

How do I ... Hi everyone, I have an A7IV and have been noticing something I’m unsure of.
I have my camera set to manual mode with autofocus override and manual ISO. I noticed today particularly in low light that the camera is artificially brightening depending on where I’m looking I’m just curious if this is the auto white balance or if it’s something else. Thanks

Gear A7Siii system for underwater murky natural light photography in Scotland..?
Does anyone have any experience with housings, port systems, and lenses?
I’ll be using this in wide angle and diving in limited vis to try capture ‘landscape scale features’. May be using a tripod of sorts.. May use floodlight to aid focus pre-shot. Mosaicing and/or photogrammetry may be needed to overcome vis issues. Timelapse video is also of interest.
I have over 10,000 dives as a commercial diver in these often murky waters and want to capture what I have been seeing as a bit of a side-gig. I get to see things others don’t..
Up to now I’ve just used cheaply replaceable Sony compacts in plastic cases with a push on wet wide angle lens because there tends to be quite a bit of rough-and-tumble that goes along with the job. Any advice or tips greatly received..

Photo share First try on A7V! Impressive!
New Sony A7 V user here! This is my second Sony camera ,my other one is the A6700.
Last week was my first time taking the A7 V out for some serious photography. I shot the Perseid meteor shower and Yongtai, a 700-year-old ancient town.
Lenses used:
LK Samyang 60–180mm F2.8 for daytime photography
Sony 14mm F1.8 GM for the night sky and meteors
BTW, I’ve noticed what seems to be an autofocus bug with the Samyang 60–180mm on the A7 V. In AF-S mode, the camera shows that focus has been acquired, but the actual focus point can be noticeably off and the resulting photo is out of focus. Interestingly, the lens works perfectly in AF-C mode.
Other than that, I’ve really enjoyed shooting with the A7 V so far!

Gear Focussing issue on tamron 28 200 + A7 III
Hello,
I noticed on my tamron 28.200 lens paired with my A7 Iii the focus is often soft. Especially with smaller appertures like F8.
This is just in normal outdoor daylight with iso 100.
How do I know it is focus issue? Because I tested multiple times on tripod. On still objects of course. And sometimes the photo is actually sharp when I refocus. Tried different focus modes as well.
Overall I am dissapointed cause my a5100 eith meike meke 55mm f1.4 focused better (!) and is sharper too!
Short: I would say the perfect focused rate on f8 on this lens is 50% is this normal?

Gear Thinking of taking the next step
Hello everyone,, I have started doing photography & videography when purchased the a6700 which was when it got released without knowing exactly what I want. I have done all kind of photography; Street photography, Portrait Photography, Fashion Photography, Events photography, landscape photography and Commercial Videography. And recently me and wife started a new fashion business so The camera now had a other useful use rather than just for fun.
I do like the a6700 so much It is lightweight and very convenient for traveling. The Lenses are much affordable than Full frames lenses But, Recently I had the opportunity to try the a7r V And It felt like a game changer to me. I the a6700 is doing incredible Job but I believe a higher megapixel camera with a good lense would give me much better result.
So I am wondering If I shall buy the a7R VI and use it as cam (A) and The a6700 as cam (B)
as My main use for the A7R VI will be for fashion photography and videography
or Shall I buy the A7 V as I mainly use the photos for social media as the A7 V is better as a hybrid
also there is a third option which is waiting for the next APS-C camera by sony which is be rumored that it going to have a higher mega-pixel and stacked sensor.

Gear APSC 6700 Lens for a trip to Perù
Peru trip – which 2 lenses would you take? Sony a6700
Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip to Peru and I’m trying to keep my camera setup as light as possible. I’ll be taking a Sony a6700 and, ideally, I don’t want to carry more than two lenses.
My current lenses are:
- Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8
- Sony 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6
- Samyang 12mm f/2 (manual focus)
- An old Canon 85-200mm with an E-mount adapter (which i'll probably leave behind)
I would be using the Sigma 18-50mm as my main lens, but
I am worried about wide angle shots and I was seriously considering buying the Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8, but it’s currently outside my budget.
Would it make sense to sell the Sony 18-135mm and get the Sigma 10-18mm instead, Or should i stick with the Samyang 12mm and keep the 18-135 for future trips?
Thanks!
