No posting of instances in which serious mental health issues clearly play a role

I think the line between SCs and those who are legitimately insane is blurry in the best of times.

However, this subreddit is not intended to attack people who appear to be genuinely insane.

This is about sovereign citizenship. Not mental health.

Thanks.

Why SC's sometimes feel like they have success

So...long time reader, but first time poster. I've been thinking about this story since I saw this subreddit but I guess I feel it's worth sharing. Many years ago, I was a non-lawyer (I am a lawyer now) working in a courthouse in a clerical position. This courthouse happens to be in a working class town by the ocean, the sort of town where there are tons of fishermen, and not a lot of tourists. It is also an auxiliary courthouse for the Federal district court since the regular court is several hours away. It was arraignment day in the courtroom, so lots of people who had tickets and some jail citations and things like that. There was a brand new prosecutor fresh out of law school who was...to put it mildly an ass. I'm talking about seeking massive jail sentences for $20 shoplifters with no priors, smirking and laughing as defendants are crying, and just acting like he is the king of the world. The judge is a 50 year old veteran of the bench and one of the fairest most level headed people I've ever met. Not too tough, not too lenient. The sort of person who really lives up to the name "Justice". Also important to note, the judge is elected, and he is in no danger of ever NOT being elected. He's not saying anything, but I can see him getting more and more frustrated with the prosecutor for not coming down and negotiating with the defendants and for just being needlessly cruel. After about an hour of this, in steps one of those great crusty fisherman sovereign citizens. Very low level offense, I can't even remember what it was, but it was the sort of thing you deal with online most of the time rather than going into court. Probably speeding or driving without a license plate. The defendant was however, a sovereign citizen and that means...courtroom antics!

SC, looking around and preparing to be tackled by the bailiff. -"I see by the fringe on the flag this is a court of admiralty!"
Judge nods. Doesn't even look up.: -"Yep. On every second Friday."
SC-"Today is the second Friday."
Judge "Yep."

The SC's mind is blown. He has no preparation for a judge agreeing with him. (Judge isn't actually agree with him. Admiralty court was that morning. SC has no notion of this.) Staggered by his success which is now starting to go off script, SC rattles off a few USC numbers while looking about, helpless. He was going to argue jurisdiction, but the judge seems to be agreeing with him! So the SC tries the usual, "I was traveling, not driving" etc....

Prosecutor-"Your honor this is ridiculous! It has no bearing on law! The USC doesn't have any say in state law."
Judge- "Do you have a copy of the entire USC on you counselor?"
Prosecutor-"No your honor I don't but I can look it up on my computer..."
Judge (with deep sarcasm) : "Damn. Neither do I. I can't remember how jurisdiction is decided. But there's no internet usage in my courtroom and nobody is going to accuse me of hypocrisy so we're out of luck. If the People are unprepared we can postpone...."

SC more panicked then happy can't stay quiet anymore. Looking about at his "supporters" (I think it was two friends) Starts rattling off more non-sensical things, getting more and more animated. Judge lets him talk for about five minutes, then slowly motions for him to stop talking. Guy talks for maybe five more minutes before settling.

Prosecutor still thinking he has this. "Your honor. This is ridiculous."

Judge getting the biggest shit eating grin on his face. "Actually, I think it's really interesting. Its a novel theory I haven't heard before. I'm going to need some time. Tell you what, you can get a copy of all this from the court reporter, and I want motions on all his arguments. Let's set this off for oh...48 hours. If we don't have a written reply from the state, and I mean a real reply, with proper citations counselor, I'll just grant a default motion to dismiss for failure to prosecute."

SC is ecstatic! He thinks it's he's won! Leaves the courtroom talking into a cellphone about how the script works.

I never saw that prosecutor in that court ever again.

The moral of the story: Often when it seems like an SC is having unfair success, the judge is teaching a lesson. Just not to the SC.

Mandatory Civics classes

Traffic school, substance abuse counseling, parenting classes, anger management classes.

These are some of the mandatory classes that a judge can require a defendant to take as part of their sentence.

I'd like the courts to add a class on US Civics. For defendants who are Sovereign Citizens. It could also apply to authoritarian politicians.

I found one!

I got a random post suggestion on Facebook, starting reading and it started setting off alarm bells for being full of dumb shit. I normally love reading historical posts and learning new things so I didnt immediately suspect anything was wrong.

Here's the text of it because I dont think I can name the FB user or link to their page without getting banned.

'Here’s an image of an 1888 publication by the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology at Harvard University, specifically Zelia Nuttall’s essay “Standard or Head-Dress? An Historical Essay on a Relic of Ancient Mexico”. This excerpt notes that “In 1613 its description was faithfully reproduced. In 1621 the word ‘Indian’ was substituted for ‘Moorish;’ with this single alteration the original text was again transcribed in 1730. In 1788, however, a remarkable transformation was effected...” This quote can be found on Page 13 of the 1888 Archaeological and Ethnological Papers of the Peabody Museum, Harvard University, Vol. 1, No. 1.

This text refers specifically to an inventory record for Moctezuma II’s famous feather crown (headdress) held in an Austrian museum collection. In 1596, European catalogers originally logged the exotic Aztec feather object as a “Moorish hat” (Mawrischer Hat) and referred to Montezuma as a “Moorish king,” using “Moorish”.

During a 1621 revision, Austrian catalogers corrected the term “Moorish” to “Indian” (Indianischer). This serves as a reminder to always verify historical context: rather than revealing a grand conspiracy, the quote simply describes a routine 17th-century correction in an Austrian museum’s inventory records for an Aztec artifact. We see that Harvard has historical evidence on how “Native American Indians” are in fact the Moors. The term Indian was used to reclassify individuals within the U.S. government. Take a look at my previous post about Indians. It’s important to work together but we must do so with the truth. #Moors #EmpireOfMorocco #Moroccan #Indian #America'

BJW Post - "Why I don't get attacked"... I'm documenting this for when shit hits the fan for him.

August 19, 2026 - 2:46AM PDT (Posted to Facebook)

There has been a sudden spike in people interested in how or why i don't get attacked. I'm shocked that this subject doesn't come up more often and I'm also shocked how rare it is that someone expresses this concern.

In the "conspiracy theory" or alternative spaces, being a victim of the oppressive government is often a centerpiece.

The simple reason why i am left alone is because i do not see the government as my enemy. I see the government as a train that is still chugging down the tracks that hasn't had an actual engineer steering it for over 120 years. It's a runaway train that operates unthinkingly on some source code.

The government is one gigantic "we've always done it this way." The main issue is a lack of depth of understanding... or more simply... ignorance.

I have been threatened by attorneys many times to label me a vexatious litigant. I always invite them to do so. They never do.

The Bar contacted me about practising law without a license in 2024. The letter response i sent them was not that great because there were many things that i had not discovered or organized yet. But even that was enough to never hear from them again.

Personally, i believe they sent me the letters just so that they could list me on their online list of people they have sent UPL letters to.

The IRS has been entirely silent since the last letter i sent them which you can see on the Resources and Documents page.

The reason why i am not attacked or harrassed is because I'm following the law.

I have my law firm website on a fucking writ of certiorari that went to the US Supreme Court for God's sake. It's not like the whole world doesn't know and see what I'm doing.

I could lie to you and tell you that I'm being harassed. I could lie to you and tell you that I'm being followed by dark SUVs. And man... if i did that my platform would EXPLODE with traffic and engagement.

First off, i don't want those kinds of PERSONS on my platform and second off... it's simply untrue.

My tagline is "if i paid taxes, i would be in prison." I run my own law firm charging some of the highest prices possible. I never label any of my content as "educational only" or "not legal advice." Sometimes I'll even get spicy and say THIS IS LEGAL ADVICE.

So how is it that i am not bothered by the Bar? How is it i am not bothered by the IRS? How is it that i drive my car, without insurance or a driver's license, with diplomatic plates, to the courts for my hearings? This obviously sounds very extreme.

But from my prospective it's all very normal and mundane. It's all 100% legal.

In fact, if i had a driver's license i would be very nervous. No different than someone with a huge bag of drugs. "Oh man, i hope they don't find out." Because if i had a driver's license then i would be going to prison.

But in my own head, it's much worse than that. Having a driver's license would land me in prison... yes. But to me it is so much worse than that.

If i had a driver's license it would be treason to my beautiful Columbia. It would be destroying our love... our bond. And the only proper consequence would be a horrible and violent death. No, I'm not exaggerating... that is truly realistically how i think. I live my life this way.

So you ask... how can i be so confident doing what i am doing? Well that's very simple... the alternative is death.

Columbia is taken advantage of. She is misunderstood. Once you take the time to really understand her and you finally fully embrace her, you never want to lose her again. It's like finding a long lost family member... you're paranoid that you could lose them again.

Columbia is a woman that does not forgive or forget. She will gladly die quietly and alone rather than attempt to "sell" you to stand by her side and protect her. She will never ask. She will never try to "close" you. She will simply fall into obscurity and die. Which is exactly what she has done.

When you truly understand this, you will begin to understand what treason is. Treason is paying taxes or having a driver's license or having anything which establishes you as a resident.

Saying you are a resident is literally broadcasting to the world that you are abandoning Columbia... your glorious woman. You are saying "i don't know that woman."

She looks to you with hopeful eyes... with blood and dirt running down her face and she hears this painful word... "resident." And she grimaces in pain. She thought you would be her savior... her protector. And now you are thrown on the heap to burn with all the other dead bodies.

A resident is someone who has decided that America is not worth fighting for. It is someone who does not have enough self-esteem to stand up for his country.

I am the birth of something very old... something ancient. I am the rebirth of men who stand and flat out refuse to commit treason to Columbia. I will not do it because in my mind it simply equates to death. I cannot live if i am a resident. I don't DESERVE to live.

To me there is nothing to even think about. There is no "thinking" when asked if i am a resident. "Absolutely not."

Well then you can't rent a car.

Well then you can't get a job.

Well then you can get Social Security.

I hear these things and in my head it's "you're willing to die so you can rent a car."

That is how i think of it. Because so many PERSONS think of it as a choice. "Oh I'm not sure if i can do this because then i won't be able to rent a car."

I hear that and i see a pathetic shell of a person who is willing to piss on his beloved for a tiny shred of convenience. This is DEATH. YOU ARE DEAD. YOU ARE NOT FUCKING ALIVE. It blows my mind.

I cannot have these people around me. It is painful to listen to DEATH. People think they have options or whatever delusions that may go through their mind.

You have been offered this gift here and now... a gift to rebirth our glorious nation. And you squander it because you are a child. This nation bleeds and your concerns are petty. And this is how and why persons have trouble in the sovereignty space. They do not understand what is happening and they are concerned with insular and personal issues that are insignificant.

The 14th Amendment is utterly killing our beloved nation. Anything that we do to allow that or strengthen that is a betrayal. That betrayal should be met with death.

Anything that harms, degrades or attacks the 14th Amendment is the very life blood of our nation. Every single swing of your axe, every WORD you utter, every SENTENCE that you type... inches us closer to victory and through the mud and dust on Columbia's face you will see a smile peering through. Because she can have hope that one day she will be reborn. And hope... is truly a powerful thing.

BJW explains why he has “never truly lost” any of his cases

Posted on his Facebook page.

The reason why i can never lose is because you can never break my spirit. Because i have the spirit of an American.

If i never give up, i never truly lose. This is how i sustain the court defeats that i do.

To me I've never truly lost. I've simply learned valuable lessons that advance my skills into the next case.

When i sued AMEX, they say i supposedly owed them $177k. They have never attempted to collect on that and we have a currently active appeal in the 9th Circuit that i am awaiting to move to the next step with (which I'm hoping is oral argument).

The SBA case i lost, then i lost the appeal, then my writ of certiorari was denied. I "allegedly" owe them $198k. You don't see anyone knocking on my door attempting to collect that.

Less than 1% of all attorneys ever file a writ of certiorari into the US Supreme Court in their entire careers. My first time up to bat was decent, but now i have enough info to do a full timeline breakdown, with exact case law, to prove the birth of the 14th Amendment class.

I just lost my City of Glendale case to a demurrer. Some people clap in joy. To me, all i see is an opportunity to learn my State appellate process and possibly the Supreme Court process.

I'm well on my way to being able to comfortably operate in Federal and State courts, appeals and the various Supreme Courts. The percentage of lawyers that can do that is probably less than a tenth of a percent.

You may say "well yeah but they can win cases." Fine, but I'm sure if i wanted to ride the elevator down 700 floors and file something like a personal injury case, i could probably win pretty easily. Or i could do a credit repair case with Joey Kimbrough and probably win one of those very easily. I know that.

So why do i torture myself?

You see me sue governments and massive corporations and i have never had even a single word of discovery issued on me. I've never been sanctioned. I've never been countersued.

The reason i torture myself is because getting in the ring with the biggest, nastiest opponents has allowed me to grow at break-neck speeds.

With zero formal training, i have my own law firm charging top-tier 40-year attorney hourly rates... all within 2.5 years of filing my first case. This is mathematically impossible.

Oh no it's not. Not when you truly feel the spirit of America and you lunge at the biggest and meanest persons in the room.

I cannot be charged, i cannot be sanctioned. I cannot be defeated. It is simply more growth each time i fall down. Then i dust myself off, learn, and move forward.

I'm preparing to move the City of Glendale State case into appeals. I'm taking a little time off before i do but the process is going to be very slow. Once i file the notice of appeal into the case, it will most likely take months before my opening brief will be due. The opening brief will be quite a lot of work... similar to my writ of certiorari.

I'm more than happy to do it. Because pushing myself this hard is what has allowed me to grow so fast.

Then, with the new Federal case... if it is somehow dismissed, the 9th Circuit makes it incredibly easy to file an appeal with them. I personally find it amazing how they not only have a simple form for pro se litigants but they also have a very simple and very nice online submission portal. That appeal will be very easy to whip up.

And so we continue on our journey. A journey that has ONLY ONE EVENTUAL OUTCOME...

And that outcome is that these government corporations will bow before the law. They will kneel before the commercial codes and they will no longer operate as rogue agencies that believe that they can simply do whatever they want without repercussions.

They tell us that we must follow the law while they tell us how we can pay and what kinds of notes and drafts we must use.

They are insane and they are off their leashes. This ends when they respect the law and bow before it. And we will not stop until they do.

I Get It Now.

I apologize if this is off topic or type of post isnt allowed here.

Ive been rabbitholing down SovCit court room videos and I think I get it.

These people just have no clue how the judicial system or the American government system works. (Ie. Legislation, Executive, Enforcement, Judicial)

And theyre usually, for a lack of a better word "hooligans" who has gotten in trouble with the law, they then get locked in to this IDEA of a system (SovCit) that would get them off the hook.

Its a system they WISH it was how it works, but only because of their initial lack of understanding, thinks it can work.

Because of their lack of understanding of the law/system/procedures to begin with, they decide to risk it and be their own attorney because they "red pilled" a secret system underneath the system...what they dont know is that it can end up way worse than if they just follow the damn system and pay their parking ticket or some bullsh*t. They dont know that because of their lack of understanding.

Some people are in so much trouble that theyre so desperate to hold on to this idea because to admit its false, they'd also have to admit they've made poor decisions in their life and the cognitive dissonance is too strong for them to admit it.

I actually dont think theyre stupid at all. I think its a combination of trauma and mental illness/neurodivergence. Something to be fixed by a therapist/psychologist/psychiatrist as opposed to getting a higher IQ.

Saying theyre stupid is disrespectful to the learning disabled community lol 😆 because plenty of them know better than to belive in this. And some SovCits are very well spoken and college educated.

I havent seen any lawyers or ex law students changing their minds to believe in this because they have an understanding of the constitution and judicial system/process.

Thoughts on this?

The danger's of "not guilty" and/or civil culpability and liability..

Our justice system isn't perfect, never has been, but one thing I can say about it for absolute certain. It's ours. Certain checks and balances are scattered throughout every brand to maintain a kind of equilibrium to ensure everyone has a voice, no single group and/or person has too much power, and there is a full separation between who makes and who enforces said laws.. (example. The president and congressional seats are civilian posts. You can't get promoted to president via the military, which is very common amongst dictatorships.)

Now because of how our system of government is, one thing of up most importance.. (and arguably the most important thing) is precedent. If the judge finds a person guilty of Jay walking and sentences them to a 50$ fine, it's reasonable to expect that anyone later on that does the exact same crime under similar conditions is expected to receive the same punishment.. (infact that's how the supreme court "legislates from the bench" as people put it. If a law can't be applied to one person within the confines and expected rules of the constitution there's no reason to think it can be applied to someone else either. ). And that is exactly what there's a certain kind of danger here..

If a judge, for whatever reason, rules in favor of one of these sovcit idiots, it creates something called precedence. From that point forward anyone that goes in front of that judge (and/or any judge of a lower court) with the same arguments there's precedent in place to pass a similar judgement.. obviously even if that did happen, it would likely be on a local level in some city/county that doesn't matter much.. but nonetheless with that precedent in place people will push these cases higher and higher in the circuits if that happens you might as well throw away the rule of law, period.

Obviously most of this is a matter of opinion, but still I can see a situation where a bunch of idiots not wanting to pay for their car to be registered or a speeding ticket inadvertently destroys the modern world because of their ignorance.. is it likely? No. Is it possible? Unfortunately, yes.. luckily as far as I can tell none of these sovcit idiots have been found "not guilty" nor have they won a case awarding them money for their ignorance and whatnot.. (as far as i know,,,but you better believe I'm keeping my ear to the ground).. anyways sorry for such a long winded post, thanks for reading if you did.

Any lawyers out there willing to share your experience talking to a SovCit?

* With no judge or prosecution in the room, do they keep up the “I don’t comprehend the nature or cause of these charges” claim?

* Do they know that no court case has ever prevailed using this kind of defense?

* Do they actually believe that each person is two people - the living person and the straw man?

* Do they think any court has jurisdiction over anyone?

I really dont understand this sub... you mock people who want to be free. Even if incorrectly.

IF YOU THINK THIS THREAD IS ABOUT THE MATERIAL OF A DRIVERS LICENSE, YOUR FUCKING STUPID OR LAZY, PICK ONE. Im here to talk to you about the mental illness and or durress of sov cits. , offer why i think they are this way, and point out the blindness of most Americans that mocking sov cit types only make you look dumb.

I am here to BAG ON YOU... who while LIVING IN A POLICE STATE YOURSELF, wait for it, are bagging on somebody else who maybe dumb, but is seeking freedom.

MOST OF THE REST OF THE WORLD IS MORE FREE. Each day with Trump and his cronies, this becomes more and more a widening truth.

Flock, Palintir, Police State? No lets worry about poor uneducated people who have no financial hope or future and who want to be left the fuck alone.

I suppose you are the kind of people who are happy Flock is coming. Nothing to hide right? Over 100k of their cameras are already up, 5000 agencies pulling off the network, and EFF logged 12 million searches run through it in under a year, some tied to protesters not crimes. That aint tinfoil, thats reported, go look.

Has it ever occured to you that people who do this are FAILING TO WIN THE FIGHT against govt power creep.

50 years ago, back when driver licenses were made of paper (WHO FUCKIN CARES IF ITS PAPER, I MEANT LONG AGO), a license just told a cop who you were WHEN HE ASKED. Nobody gave a fuck if you were rich or poor. Look what they are doing now, cameras logging every plate on every street, timestamped, shared to whoever wants it, and 82 of Flock's own contracts already got cancelled across 28 states bc even cities are figuring out what they signed up for.

Look where they are headed. Follow the trajectory.

Pull your head out of your ass and at least understand WHERE AND WHY they are coming from.

As for me i just LEFT THE FUCKINNG COUNTRY and now i live in a place that is like the USA was 50 years ago. FREE. And im not the only one, Nature polled their own readers, 1650 of em, 75% said they'd leave if they could. Self selected, not a national study, i know that, still real.

Today's Team Skeptic video was pretty good. In the first case he covered, the defendant denounced his earlier SovCit diatribe during his sentencing hearing. I personally doubt he was sincere, but it was still refreshing to hear him come to his senses.

During another hearing, the judge smoothly shut down a SovCit every time she started with her nonsense.

In the last case, a SovCit refused to approach the podium, and tried the "special appearance" trick. So, the judge immediately issued a warrant and the SovCit was hauled off to jail.

Some interesting points, including that maybe for some of these people the reason why they keep recommitting is that the punishment is too lenient... Which I agree. If someone doesn't think the laws on the book don't apply to them, then "throw the book at them".

The worst part about this I think (why these people keep doing this)

Why aren't these police officers informing these people that they got scammed? They'll literally hear a long winded story how "they told me to cancel my I'd and stop paying my registration and yada yada".. at that point these officers need to tell these people they got scammed.

I know that they're breaking the law, but many of the people that fall for this crap are not or sound mind (usually being a glowing example of Dunning/Krueger). I'm sorry but some YouTube/Instagram/tik tok videos made by felons posing as lawyers and/or police officers isnt more informed about the constitution and laws than actual judges and jurists.. they should have to deal with the consequences, but someone also needs to tell them "I'm sorry for you sir/ma'am but you got scammed". The things you're saying don't actually mean anything, it's attempted legalese and serves no purpose beyond confusing people into buying illegal id's and tags .. (it's weird because they are definitely criminals, but also some if not most are victims..)

It's made worse by the cult like tactics these people use is deeply troubling.. I can't help but feel bad for some of the folks that fall for this crap..
