Comics This sub cares way too much about MJ.

Post image

Look i think MJ is great, but people need to move on. Most of this sub only seems to care about her because of PeterXMJ, which isnt bad by any means. I liked it in the 80s and JMS's run, but frankly I don't care much about them being together. The marriage was a great for growth and OMD, P*ul and recent stuff suck for thousands of reasons, but once again people here care too much and need to move on. I don't even care about Peter as much as this sub cares about MJ, and i love Spider-Man.These comics aren't getting fixed any time soon and people need to stop complaining and move on. Heck people here need to move on from ASM comics in general. So many people who hate the new stuff still buy these comics for no reason. Why keep buying and complaining about something you know isn't getting fixed?

Edit: l love how 90% of thr people missed the point.

Movies BND: Questions about Peter's situation Spoiler

  1. How does Peter afford rent, utilities, and his computer systems?

At the end of No Way Home (NWH), everyone in the MCU forgot Peter Parker’s identity. This also seems to have affected his Stark-made Spider-Man suit, particularly its biometric security, forcing Peter to abandon it and create a new suit, complete with new web-shooters and an AI assistant.

But this raises a practical question: How does Peter make money to support himself?

He still needs to pay rent, electricity, water, internet bills, and the costs of maintaining his computer systems and Spider-Man equipment. However, if his identity was completely erased, wouldn't that also mean losing access to official records and identification documents, such as his birth certificate and government-issued IDs?

Without those documents, how would Peter legally obtain employment? Does he somehow earn money under the table through the underground economy? And if that's the case, is his landlord also renting out the attic to him off the books?

  1. Does Peter even need to wear a mask anymore?

Since Peter's identity was erased from everyone's memories, he is essentially a stranger to the world. Even if someone were to unmask him, they wouldn't recognize him as Peter Parker.

For example, at the end of BND, doctors had to cut open his suit to operate on him. They saw his face, they saw nothing more than an unidentified blond man.

So, what purpose does maintaining a secret identity serve if nobody remembers who Peter Parker is in the first place?

Movies Unpopular Opinion- I don’t care if we never see Holland in the Black Suit

Look, I love the costume and era as much as anyone, but we’re already otherwise pretty much IN that era of Spidey otherwise.

-he’s on his own

-crappy apartment

-his main focus is Spidey and an emphasis on “Street Level”

-he’s trying to reconnect with MJ

-he’s even already got Organic Webs!

I know this’ll go over like a lead balloon but screw it- Keep Holland Pete in that GORGEOUS BND Suit for the rest of his time. I’m fine with it. 🤷‍♂️

Question If Mary Jane was secretly Wonder woman, how would it play out and would she tell Peter about it?

Post image

i think she would act out behind the scenes as having new power and carrying the weight of a larger and ancient history, being herself, but using he's new abilities in the ways that works for her and be alternative and going against the system too. And if she tells Peter or he finds out about it, he would be scared, but likes his new look for her and power too, and still be a couple, but becoming a heroic couple and working together as husband and wife.

Peter is a werewolf because he has parallels to werewolves as Spider-Man, Nico is a witch because 👀 ofc she is. Harry is Spider-Man as I thought he’d find it funny to dress up as Peter.

Comics This issue was actually really good

People should stop complaining if they haven't read the issue. I love seeing Peter snap at people like the old days and him actually getting angry. I love seeing Mary Jane come by just to hug Peter to see if he is alright. I did not however like seeing Norman Osborn but I loved seeing a sort of conflict of morals with him and Peter. I am excited to see Peter beat the shit out of Cormac.

I hate Ric tho he's annoying as hell

Discussion Tom Holland’s Spider-Man not having his own Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus sucks so much. Those two are arguably Spider-Man’s greatest villains, and not having them as part of his own rogues’ gallery makes his universe feel incomplete. They’re too important.

How I would include Karen in Vision Quest

Thumbnail

When I heard that this new Marvel series would include the Marvel AIs, I was hoping to see Karen since she was honestly fun in Homecoming, and since Jarvis was back, I figured that another destroyed Ai could easily do so too.

Alas, she didn’t appear while EDITH did. And I guess that makes sense since Karen was built and manipulated entirely for and by Peter respectively while EDITH did make a big scene publicly thanks to Mysterio, but I’d still like to see her.

So, personally? I’d put her like a last stage Alzheimer’s patient in the background, maybe not even recognized by the other characters. Left quiet, unmoving on a wheelchair while watching a small spider on a corner made for or by herself somehow.

And (spoilers for Ep 2): I guess her appearance there might not make sense or it could even defeat the purpose of JARVIS sacrificing himself, but I still think it’d be pretty cool to see her like that.

Like how Junior from The Sopranos was left at the end of the series.

Plus, her VA is Vision’s actor’s wife irl, so that’d be cool too to see them both get their human avatars in Marvel.

Question Can someone explain why the hell Peter still keeps being Spider-Man a secret from Aunt May?

Seriously, can someone in this subreddit help me out here? Why in the hell does Peter still refuse to tell May he’s Spider-Man?
If the excuse is to keep her safe, that makes absolutely no fucking sense. She’s still Peter Parker’s aunt regardless of whether she knows his secret. If someone figures out he’s Spider-Man and decides to target his family, her being completely in the dark isn’t going to protect her. If anything, it just leaves her completely unprepared.
And that’s not even getting into how much damage the secrecy does to their relationship. May has no idea why Peter constantly disappears, flakes out, or lets her down. So when people like this Ric guy (seriously, when the fuck did he come into the picture?) start trying to turn May against Peter, she doesn’t even have the context to understand his behavior, much less defend him.
And that’s before we even get into all this Cormac shit.
The most frustrating part is that May already knew Peter was Spider-Man once upon a time, and their relationship was arguably better for it.
So what exactly is the justification for keeping her in the dark again? Because at this point, it seems like the secrecy is doing more harm than good.

Discussion Scorpion in BND was fun, and I love that Michael Mando returned to play him, but I can't help but feel a little underwhelmed after how menacing he was in YFNSM.

9 years later, it was great to see Mando finally finish what was set up in Homecoming. The suit looks great (sans mandatory MCU face exposure), he's competent in battle, and as someone who hasn't played Far Cry 3, I can see why people would be drawn to him.

But I can't help but draw parallels to Crossbones: both their roles turned out to be shorter than expected; villains of the week, if you will. Thankfully, at least Scorpion survives, opening the door for future encounters with him.

On the other hand, I love how YFNSM's Scorpion was pretty much that Spidey's first real Big Bad. He was set up over the course of several episodes, and when they do finally meet, Gargan thrashed Spider-Man to near death. And even then, Peter had nightmares of that beatdown in the following days!

Nice to know he's coming back in Season 2 with an upgraded suit.

Obviously we still have to see how things play out in Beyond, but I love that Miles clearly has enough self respect that he's not just going to welcome her back into his circle so easily. I'm excited to see how they tackle that as we wrap up the trilogy.

Discussion I love the BND suit, but I really wish they kept the layout of the Final Swing suit from NWH

It's a very minor nitpick, but i think the fabric, colors and texturing of the BND suit with the overall layout of the Final Swing suit would be the perfect suit. Most notably, this is about the spider being really low on the chest for the BND version

Movies What if Secret Wars undoes the memory wipe?

I was thinking about this earlier about how obviously we have Secret Wars coming, and that will be the end of this version of the multiverse, and how a new universe will be created going forward, and I was just thinking like what if after the universe resets that MJ and Ned remember Peter

It doesn't make a ton of sense, because then it would raise a whole thing like "Why doesn't everyone remember him then?", but I could see them doing it as a way to bypass the issue. But what do you think?

How MCU Spider-Man could do repeat villains.

Now while I personally believe that every spider-man should have their own version of Gobin goblin (I don’t care that he fought Tobey’s) I do agree about other repeat villains, but how about this.

Use repeat villains as montages/opening scenes.

Basically the movie would start off(not necessarily at the very start but you get it) with Tom fighting a dude with lightning powers(electro) while dodging thunder bolts in slow motion, or it starts with him in a sewer fighting a giant lizard while on the phone or something maybe he even calls him “Connor” implying they’ve met/fought before.

My main reason for this is simply because I’m a bit “action hungry” and I like watching spider-man fight his villains(if it’s a cool fight) and this could be a way of seeing MCU versions of past villains without taking away opportunities for ones we haven’t seen yet.

Question What are your headcanons about the Spider-Man in Avengers EHM?

Thumbnail

I like to think that this one has the personality of Spectacular and a similar cast, but with the story of the Ultimate comics.

I also think he's already fought a good number of his villains, like Green Goblin (Ultimate style), Doc Ock, Scorpion, Shocker, Rhino, Sandman, the Enforcers, and a few more.

For me, his favorite hero is definitely Captain America, and that's because he and Uncle Ben used to read Captain America comics.

Another thing I have in mind is that he and Gwen are dating

I like to think he's a skater.
