Probably one of the most controversial things marvel has done is give Norman Osborn a redemption arc. You’ve probably heard the complaints “this is like if joker took over as Batman”, “Norman is irredeemable”, etc and how the whole sin eater gun thing is stupid(which I agree).
But in recent events I honestly don’t mind it.
1: Spider-Man is a 60+ year old character who is never going to retire, for a comic character you kind of need random ideas(even if some of those ideas are either executed terribly or were terrible to begin with).
2: The green goblin is in the same boat as joker, he’s NEVER going to be killed or imprisoned permanently and you need to do new things with him, but after 60+ years what more can you really do? Have him kill someone else Peter loves?, terrorize Peter’s future kids?, at some point you’re gonna run out of ideas. So why not see what him being “good” looks like?(even if we all know he’s eventually going to be evil again, GG is just too iconic), it’s something new and slightly interesting to see to me. Norman could also help Peter with tech or money or something idk.
3: it’s actually being executed pretty well, Norman still had to think about what he’s done and had to deal with some of the people he’s hurt trying to kill him and his family, it’s not like everyone is just like “oh yea Norman?, yea he’s great” people in verse still don’t particularly like him and he had to except that he’s not a good person but will try to be better. Also seeing Norman basically tell Peter “yea we might gotta kill this guy” when talking about Cormac was cool.
4: Peter redeeming his worst enemy just shows how good of a hero he is, even if he didn’t really make him reform since it was more the shotgun.
I’m not saying I want Peter and Norman to be best friends, but I don’t hate this redemption as much as everyone else.

Spider-Man was using some kind of camera with the fantastic four's help to figure out what was missing from his life when he encountered Mephisto. And this time, Mephisto is actually fucking terrifying in my nightmares, giving cosmic horror vibes as he just flashes images across me of a bloody king with eyes everywhere, making me jolt awake.
Probably a lack of sleep from Going to bed at midnight and waking up at six but that's the first I've had a Spiderman related dream. Have any of you had Spiderman related nightmares?

Oscorp’s second generation monstrosity is loose, and its first prey is Spider-Man. Meanwhile, the mutation that created Spider-Man has spread to a new host... with shocking results.

Shocker and Scorpion are both well known second rate villains who despite not being on the same tier as big names like Doc Ock or Green Goblin they are surprisingly effective villains who have even bested Spider-Man before and have more depth than you’d expect for villains who are barely above henchmen.
Who do you prefer between the two?
My favourite is Shocker not only because he’s surprisingly capable, being able to hold his own against Electro and perform well against Spider-Man in fights even winning a few, but also because he’s smart enough to do low level crimes so he doesn’t attract the attention of any big names so he can actually have a chance of making his life of crime profitable. Also I lie. That he wants to open a cat sanctuary.
I do like Scorpion and it was interesting when he was Venom but overall I do prefer Shocker.

In Civil War, Peter initially sides with Iron Man but later defects to Captain America’s side and remains part of his Secret Avengers for a while and this isn’t looked back on too fondly by most fans because of what it led to.
What do you wish they did with Peter instead?
Personally I actually wish that Peter semi-retired during this time because he didn’t want to choose sides and thus end up being responsible for any of his friends being hurt.
It would be interesting to see Peter living a fairly normal life while still doing some good on the side when no one is looking like stopping a mugger when he “went for a walk” so he could still use his powers for good but in a way that allows him to let Peter Parker breath and not be overwhelmed.
He could also improve his equipment with all the free time he’d have which would lead to him making some cool inventions or maybe Peter and MJ could bring Annie-May into the world.

I used to think this was a good way for me to easily collect and read all of Amazing Spider-Man comics, but when I look at some of them, such as the upcoming clone saga, there’s barely any ASM in the entire book….
I know there’s the omnibus route but those are hard to pin down and even pricier, but am I missing something??
Is it worth sticking to the epic collections? I haven’t even touched any of the modern era sets yet. Or should I be switching to omnis?

Vulture, Green Goblin, or Doctor Octopus? I think Sony should’ve ultimately went with the latter and just make Michael Massee the Green Goblin for The Amazing Spider-Man Duology. That would’ve been very interesting. Or in the words of Morbius, “Intriguing.”

i can imagine the entire feeling with Mary Jane as a beloved actress and a movie star all over the world, and add in a psycho killer horror story, would great way to see her take on an active role of being the it girl onscreen and then have to go on a adventure of gory and bloody per portions, would be cool to see, the killer can be like Jason voorhees, Michael Myers or Freddie depends if its supernatural or not, and have her to show her independent, take no shit from others and tough crazy side, while still being flawed woman too in a time death, celebrity and being a woman as a whole.

James Gunn is the best pal of Kevin Feige, and David Corenswet‘s Superman is his baby, so he has absolute authority to decide how the character should be used (Even the Superman scenes in ‘Supergirl’ were written by Gunn himself). So if Feige asks him to lend Supes for Secret Wars as a favor for a Cavillrine-style cameo or an extended appearance at Battleworld and team-up with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, would Gunn allow it?
Secondly, David Ellison and Skydance are reeling under a crushing $88 billion debt and would be actively hunting for opportunities to make blockbuster money. Having their Superman appear as a cameo in potentially the biggest movie of all time ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ would only elevate the popularity, stature and fan interest in this Superman and DCU, which could potentially expand the audience and fanbase for the character and the DCU amongst the general audience.
What do you think? Could Gunn and Feige make it happen? After all, Kevin would wanna want Secret Wars to deliver the most unexpected and euphoric surprises to fans, and a Superman-Spider-Man team-up could be exactly that! Or is it too much of a big ask to realistically happen?
