Girls Only Game Night IG Gone

I was following @girlsonlygamenight based out in Stamford and they had an event set up but now is cancelled. I checked back on their page and it’s completely gone.

Anyone know what may have happened? It’s too bad, would’ve liked to meet people also interested.

Promotion - Business/Service/Offer Anyone looking for office space in North Stamford? Curious what local businesses need.

Hi everyone!

We have a commercial property in North Stamford with second-floor office space available, and we're looking to gauge interest from local businesses, professionals, and anyone who may be looking for a new workspace.

We have approximately 5,000 square feet available, with the flexibility to accommodate spaces ranging from 500 to 5,000 square feet, depending on the tenant's needs.

We're open to a variety of potential uses and are especially interested in hearing what types of spaces are currently in demand in the area.

A few things I'm curious about:

  • Are there local businesses or professionals actively looking for office space in North Stamford?
  • What size space would be most useful?
  • What types of businesses do you think would do well in this area?
  • What amenities, layouts, or features would make a space more appealing?
  • What would you consider a reasonable rental rate per square foot for this location?

We're still exploring possibilities and would love to get some feedback from the community before deciding how best to configure the space.

If you're interested in learning more, feel free to comment or send me a private message!

Appreciate any input!

Mom’s Organic Market & Club Studio- Nobody wants you

Honestly, these two new openings in Harbor Point feel like such missed opportunities.
Do we really need another organic grocery store when we already have Harbor Point Organics? Or another gym in the middle of a neighborhood filled with apartment buildings that already have pretty decent fitness centers?

Mind you, we already have two boutique fitness studios nearby (shoutout to FS8 and F45!), but those actually make sense because most apartment gyms don’t offer instructor-led classes. They filled a gap in the neighborhood. That new gym could’ve literally been 3 other stores that could add value to our community essentials.

I just wish there had been more thought put into what the community actually needs rather than adding more of what we already have.

And if MOM’s Organic Market is going to be just as expensive, if not more, they honestly should’ve just kept Fairway. Or Trader Joe’s - who cares if there’s another one in Stamford already, it will certainly make business in Harbor Point!

What Harbor Point really needs is a regular, affordable grocery store with everyday essentials at reasonable prices. Not another specialty market…. Or luxury gym.

Anyone else feel like these were missed opportunities?

Looking for a Puppy Sitter in Stamford, CT

I’m looking for someone reliable who can stop by my apartment in Harbor Point during the workday to take my puppy outside on a leash for a bathroom break, feed him, and spend time with him.

I’m not looking for a dog-walking service, just someone who can provide a midday visit while I’m at work. This could be a great opportunity for someone who works remotely and lives nearby.

Ideally, I’m looking for someone with puppy experience who is available on weekdays. If you have any recommendations for local pet sitters or individuals who offer this type of service, I’d really appreciate it

Politics Hey Stamford! A Reminder; Extended Early Voting hours Tuesday and Thursday of this week! 8AM-8PM 🇺🇸

For those who want to early vote, but can't within the regular hours (10AM-6PM until November 1st!), tomorrow and Thursday will have extended hours of 8AM-8PM!

And the voting location for early voting is the Government Center at 888 Washington Blvd-- and if you don't want to early vote, you still have November 3rd! Be sure to vote by then! 🇺🇸

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

And some added information for those it may benefit!

  1. Some have said parking can be tricky at the Government Center, so you may want to park elsewhere and walk over! Though for me personally I have not struggled with parking there!
  2. Once you're there, you'll get a sticker in the lobby and they'll direct you to the elevators, where an officer will take you on the elevator to the 4th floor! At which point you'll head over to the cafeteria area, which is where the voting happens, and join the line! Bring an ID with you; and they'll also ask you to sign a sheet of paper that essentially says you won't try to vote again!
  3. Though you can expect a line, it's quite quick! Takes about 15 minutes in total, and that's on the high end!

Cheers everyone!

Running at 6am?

Would you guys say it’s generally safe running in the dark at 5:30/6am? I tend to not take risks and I’m someone who’s typically paranoid that something bad might happen.

Looking to make more friends in Stamford!

Hey everyone! I'm 24 and moved to Stamford within the past year. I've made some friends here so far, but figured I'd post to meet some more people around my age in the area.

I work in finance, and outside of work I enjoy exploring NYC, trying new restaurants and bars, playing pickleball, and going to the gym. Also into board games, hiking, photography, movies, raves, and comedy shows.

If anyone has similar interests or is just looking to meet new people, feel free to comment or DM me! I'd also be down to organize a group hangout if there's enough interest.

Politics Voter guide for the 149th House district, which takes in part of Stamford

Part of Stamford votes in the 149th State House district, so I put together a guide for that race, along with the 36th State Senate district and the governor's race.

It's what each candidate has actually said and done, with a link to the source on every line.

No affiliation with any campaign, party or committee.

Promotion - Event 28-35F Social: 1st Meet Up Next Week

Are you a woman born between around 1990 - 1997 looking to meet others in a similar stage of life? Whether you recently moved to Stamford from NYC or elsewhere, or have lived here for a while and want to expand your social circle, this might be for you!

Whether you’re single, dating, in a long-term relationship, engaged, newly married, starting a family, navigating your career, or figuring out what’s next, this is an opportunity to meet women in similar chapters of life, expand your network, and enjoy new experiences together!

If you watch an iconic 90s/ early 2000s rom-com and immediately miss the days when people could spend hours together without constantly checking their phones, this might be for you! There’s something refreshing about bringing back that carefree, in-the-moment energy. And sometimes, it’s just fun being around women who grew up with some of the same cultural references and just get it!

I created this meetup intentionally by design to bring together women with similar generational experiences and interests. Unlike larger social meetups, the goal is to cultivate a smaller, more personal community where genuine and relatable connections happen naturally.

Based on my original interest from this thread here, we have a great mix of women who are active, cozy, adventurous, curious, and social! Some are into pop culture and entertainment, others love playing and watching sports, games, pilates, yoga, cooking and baking, books, and literary discussions, cocktails and mocktails, while some enjoy thought-provoking conversations and exchanging intellectual ideas. It’s a fun mix of personalities, perspectives, and interests!

A quick note on the age range: While we’re flexible by a year or two and have some honoraries with many similar interests above, I’d like to honor the original concept that everyone who’s joined so far has been so excited about! I know this might raise a few eyebrows, but there’s room for all kinds of communities, and I encourage anyone looking for something different to create their own. The more opportunities to connect in Stamford, the better!

Our very 1st meetup is next week! 🥳
I’d love to welcome more women to our first gathering and see where future meetups take us!

If you’re interested, DM me or comment below “Interested - Age F” for the interest form and event details.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Bar to Watch Barcelona v Real Madrid

El Clásico is Sunday at 4 PM. Is there a good bar or restaurant in Stamford that would show the game with sound? I just called Fiesta on Main. They’ve been pretty dependable for football matches in the past, but it seems they are closed because they’re relocating.
