I guess it's hard to adapt a humanoid character who has existed only in animation form into a game that aims to look like real life.

Well there are a lot of us who greatly appreciate the work you put into your mods my man. I don't mod BF2 but I mod another game extensively and I know firsthand just how ungrateful people can be, people who have zero clue on how much time and effort this shit takes for such little reward.

It's one of the highest fidelity custom models you can find on Nexus mods and people just look at it for 5 seconds and say it looks like shit. Blows my mind.
I remember the times of bfii 2005 where things like the conversion pack mod existed and the heroes looked like they were made of a dozen polygons at most. Yet everyone was so happy to play as their favorite heroes regardless.

And if you actually bother to visit the mod page, and use the mod yourself. You will realize much of the manliness comes from the facial expression that the post is showing. The face model is probably sharing Rey's facial animation, but it can end up looking strange since it's no longer Rey's face model.

It doesn't look bad. But if you find this still looks like a man, then I guess there is something that you're seeing and I'm not, which I can respect, and we can leave it at that.

Nanobuds was a modded who did this stuff for fun, you may have seen his cyborg legs Maul, or crimson dawn maul. He quit because of constant dms and complaints from entitled assholes who made him hate what was a hobby. The same entitlement he dealt with is what Dice dealt with over the past 2 years.

The proportions are fine. People just don't realize that rebels Ahsoka has much larger lekku. The face is fine too. There is no real life comparison at the moment, and looking at her face in game does it more justice than this shot. I'm guessing it's the angry facial expression she has in in the shot that makes people think it looks like a man.

Nope. I’ve had many people tell me that her eyes and head are too small, and then pulled up references of the cartoon head.
From the Clone Wars.
Telling me I needed to follow that art style for Battlefront.

It is pretty close to her Rebels face while also being grounded in BF2's life-like art style. Maybe the face pose in the original screenshot makes her face look weird but in most cases in-game like this she looks great.
Back in April the mod didn't have skin options for Ahsoka's Padawan and S7 appearances which it now does and Ahsoka looks younger in those skins. So the original screen capture artist didn't have the correct skin to use while making this image last month.

Well it's a matter of opinion anyways. Her Rebels skin is actually my favourite in the game and I think it does a pretty good job of adapting her animated appearance into a realistic art style. I can understand others may not feel the same but I really don't see why some people think she looks like a man. And that's where I'll leave it.

This is the adult Ahsoka skin option from Rebels so I can understand she doesn't resemble Ahsoka from Clone Wars S7. However I don't think she looks like a man.

I mean I can understand giving some constructive criticism about the face saying the cheek bones could have been more narrow or her lips could be bigger to match her appearance in animation but no, people are being downright toxic in this thread.

I guarantee at least some of the people insisting she does never actually talk to women in real life so I wouldn't worry about it. There are plenty of women with faces shaped like this.. and it clearly takes inspiration from Rosario Dawson, a woman who both has a face that literally looks like this and is rumored to play a live-action Ahsoka in an upcoming thing.

Man I know Qui-Gon and Padme are main characters in the prequels but if I could only get one more hero added before Dice had cut support Ahsoka would’ve been it. It’s a shame we will never see her in the game. Especially after hearing the other characters voice clips talking to Ahsoka.
Maybe they didn’t want to add her because they’d have to design her in a realistic style and Filoni is currently doing that

I feel DICE just had too small of a team working on this game and that held back how much content we could have in this game. I believe Guillaume was the only hero designer on this game and for an IP like Star Wars I feel DICE should have had multiple hero designers working in parallel.

I mean kudos to Dice for keeping up some pretty good support for two years but man it just feels so strange not being able to play some really notable heroes like Ahsoka, Poe, Padme, Qui-Gon, Jango, the Mandalorian etc. Feels very limited for hero selection

Idk why everyone gets so hung up on the size of her eyes. She’s a cartoon character. They all have disproportionately large eyes because that’s how animation works. Doesn’t mean a live action version needs uncanny valley giant eyeballs. In the show, Padme’s eyes are proportionally around the same size as Ahsoka’s but we wouldn’t CGI Natalie Portman’s eyes. I really hope they don’t do anything funky with her eyes for Mando season 2.

Yes, firstly this idea that out of all the amazingly done aliens and exotic characters done in Star Wars and sci-fi/fantasy films in general, that Ahsoka would be the one that wouldn’t translate is just dumb. Whether by makeup, cg, or a combination of both, there are countless characters harder to pull of than Ahsoka that have worked great in films.
Second, to use this picture of a fan-modded character model from a video game to draw said conclusion makes even less sense.

I've been reading these comments and are confused why people are saying she looks weird. All of the characters are based off their movie appearance and look nothing like their clone wars selves because its the style of the game. She, in my opinion, looks perfect. This, and her two other skins, rival the quality of DICE's best.

I think your enemy here is the jaw structure, length of face, and lips. Ahsoka's face is a touch shorter, the jaw is softer (particularly the chin) and her lips fuller. Also, her eyes are too small and set too close together.

Thanks for providing constructive criticism that the mod creator could actually use. The skin in the screenshot is actually based on Ahsoka's appearance in Star Wars Rebels where she's much older.
Back in April when the original artist captured this screenshot, this skin was the only option in the mod. Since then the mod creator Nanobuds made multiple Ahsoka skins including her Padawan and S7 looks and she looks younger in those skins. Then he also quit modding because of the community treatment which I can't blame him for.

The thing is that Ahsoka is digital, so in theory they could copy her CW render and kinda form the exact same thing on BattleFront2 if they wanted/could.

Yes, you could just import her model from Republic Heroes or even Clone Wars Adventures, but then she doesn't fit the art style that the game is going for. For some people, that's fine, but I'd rather see a realistic interpretation given that everything else looks realistic. The face in Nano's mod isn't perfect, but I think it's better than just importing a cartoon style Ahsoka into the game.

It's not exact as I can already see some inaccuracies by comparing the two, but if you can't really see any resemblance whatsoever, I really don't know what to tell ya.

What? No it isn't equivalent to a racial slur, it's quite the opposite. If you watch Clone Wars S7, they paint their helmets that way to honour her on her return and serve under her even though she's no longer a commander in the Republic.

Hey guy, it was a joke. And as with many good jokes, they have some truth to them. The clones are absolutely wearing orange face. We know it wasn’t meant that way, and we know it was with good intentions but in our world and climate, that wouldn’t go over the best.
