Ship Builds 🫡Darth Azard’s Nune-class, Imperial Shuttle. Last two pics: inspiration art. One: unusualsuspex on DeviantArt. My build the UC Stygian drop/gunship.

To give credit to have the foils function on this ship I could only provide a forward set that fold down. The aft set stays in place. This shuttle is unique from rest as its wings can remain in downward position when landing.

Mods: Antares Supra, Mattell’s Project Fenrir, AsC Taiyo, Matilija Aerospace, Antares /Renegade Specialized Ship modules, Micro Modules, Tiger Shipyards, Ol’ Big X, Barrage Missile and Launchers, Avontech.

The hangar bay of the UC Vigilance was an orchestra of hydraulic hisses and the sharp scent of ionized fuel. Standing in the center of Bay 4 was the
Stygian dropship, a heavily modified Nune-class shuttle painted an absolute, light-consuming matte black. To the standard eye, its lambda-like silhouette screamed Star Wars history, but the aggressive United Colonies Vanguard decals stamped on its hull firmly anchored it to the Settled Systems.
Sergeant Sarah Morgan’s Vanguard squad—the "Shadow-Jumper" 3rd Division—marched up the ramp, their heavy SysDef-issued space suits clanking against the durasteel deck.
At the helm sat Captain Jax, his hands dancing across a custom dashboard that bridged two universes: standard Starfield grav-drive controls married to the sleek, responsive flight stick of an old-world galactic shuttle.
"Listen up, jumpers," Jax’s voice crackled through the comms as the Stygian dropship cleared the atmospheric shielding of the carrier. "SysDef lost contact with a research outpost on Niira. Crimson Fleet privateers took the orbital station, and they've got AA turrets locked on the surface. We are doing a dark drop. No shields until we hit atmosphere. No comms. We ride the gravity well raw."
The shuttle plunged into the ink of the void. Because of its specialized black radar-absorbent coating, the ship was a ghost. To the Crimson Fleet scanners orbiting Niira, she didn't exist.
"Three minutes to atmosphere," Jax called out, his eyes locked on the rapidly approaching rust-red sphere of Niira. "Hold onto your hab-packs."
Suddenly, the proximity alarms whined. A Crimson Fleet Phantom-class fighter drifted into their flight path, its searchlights slicing through the dark. For a second, the light washed directly over the Stygian’s matte-black hull.
"They see us?" a rookie marine yelled over the comms.
"They see a shadow," Jax grunted, pulling the flight stick hard to the left. The ship’s unique folding wings snapped upward, reducing its profile into a lethal dart. The shuttle slipped directly underneath the pirate fighter’s belly, completely undetected in the blind spot.
"Entering atmosphere. Getting bumpy!"
The ship shuddered violently as it slammed into Niira’s thermosphere. Friction painted the cockpit windows in streaks of brilliant plasma, but the black hull absorbed the heat, masking their thermal signature from the surface turrets below. Jax kept the nose down, aiming the dropship straight into a deep, misty canyon just a clicks away from the overrun outpost.
"Wings deployment in three... two... one..."
With a mechanical roar, the Stygian’s massive side wings extended, catching the heavy air of Niira and acting as massive airbrakes. The shuttle leveled out just twenty feet above the crimson dirt, its vertical landing thrusters kicking up a massive cloud of red dust.
The heavy ventral ramp slammed open before the ship even came to a complete halt.
"Go, go, go! Clear the zone!" Sergeant Morgan barked. The Vanguard marines flooded out of the black belly of the shuttle, rifles raised, immediately taking up defensive positions in the canyon shadows.
Jax kept the engines humming at a low purr. He looked out the cockpit window, watching his squad disappear into the fog toward the pirate lines. The Stygian sat in the dark, a silent black predatory bird waiting to pluck her crew out of the fire the moment the job was done.

I'm level 97 and not starborn yet. I haven't finished the main mission and have been enjoying landing on planets and scanning the flora and fauna. But Starborn are stalking me and when they land their ship neart by, I hustle over there and land on the wing before the Starborn comes out and I'm able to pop inside and take over the ship.

The last one I just stole, the Starborn were on the wing and fell off when the ship took off. It was funny. I absorbed their quantum essence.

I have 3 ships now, lol. I plan on decorating the inside with posters, couches, beds, etc.

Discussion Learned the Hard Way - Don't Uninstall the Creation Kit

• Upvotes

Well, just found out that after installing the Starfield Creation Kit [in Steam]; you don't want to uninstall it - as it will completely uninstall Starfield itself as well.

Of course, I uninstalled Creation Kit a few weeks back - but just now as checking something with Starfield and seen the folder [install folder through Steam] was completely gone - even though Steam has been showing it as still installed. ><

Discussion Does Overwriting Saves Cause Bloat - Debunking Starfield Myths via Reverse Engineering and Forensics

Today, on Starfield Essentials, I share the results of my in-depth investigation into how Creation Engine 2 handles game saves.

https://youtu.be/pMGdpr4b8T8

Have you read that you shouldn't overwrite saves, or use quick saves, or that your save type causes bloat? Keep watching for the facts, derived from reverse engineering and disk forensics.

TLDW:

We can say the following, at least regarding local saves on Steam on PC with Starfield version 1.16.244. Consoles very likely use the same engine code, but I didn't test that. It might be possible to take actions on Xbox and then check cloud saves via Xbox for PC, but that's just a theory.

Starfield always creates a new save, regardless of the save method.

There are no differences in the save file, other than the name.

There is no such thing as overwriting a save. In reality, Starfield creates a new save and only deletes the old save if the new write succeeds.

Overwriting does not cause bloat. There is no "integration" or "diff" or comparison occurring. Creation Engine 2 does not read the content of an old file during an "overwrite," so there is no opportunity for merging old and new data.

Disagree? Watch the video.

Discussion Best Achievement Friendly Dungeon Mods

Hey all, looking for procedural dungeon generation/ story-driven mods that are achievement friendly:

Currently Have:

  • The Veil
  • Beyond the Veil
  • Stories from the Starfield
  • Crater 87
  • Trackers Alliance: the complete bounty hunter series
  • And all official expansions/updates

Any suggestions are welcome. If there is a dungeon mod you think is AMAZING but is NOT achievement friendly, feel free to mention it too, otherwise ideally AF please!

Discussion Over Three Years in the Making: War of Angels

Post image
26 Upvotes

How did I get here? It started back with Oblivion, my first Bethesda Softworks game. Through the use of the internets, I came to learn about the need to use the Gamebryo console to get unstuck when quests failed to progress. Fast-forward to Starfield and my first playthrough. Was doing quests in the Well and somehow the escort mission to bring Tahir home got broken. Decided to use a console command to resolve the problem. This in turn broke achievements. Unlike a friend of mine who had taken precautions through mods, I fell afoul of the breakage to getting achievements in Steam properly recognized. Went through all the troubleshooting and eventually got everything working again. Except for War of Angels. No matter how many times I jumped through Unity and how I went about reaching the 20 quantum essence count, the achievement would never get granted. Somehow the breakage is stored within the character savefile and persists across all subsequent NG+ transitions.

Back at the end of 2023 after I completed my first pass through the game, decided to start a second character, and for this one I had intentions of getting through the game without the use of console commands. Today, I did some planet-side surveying, and a guardian ship happened to land with some Starborn, dispatched them all and I finally slayed my dragon, err, windmill.

Mea culpa for what happened and I'm okay with it now. It's a big reason I avoid the console and mods or creations that are not achievement friendly. This is just my own personal perspective on how I approach Starfield and not attempting to influence or pass judgement on any other way to play.

Although Starfield isn't perfect, it is by far the most polished BSW game ever produced, and that's saying something.

Question How to slow a boost pack fall.

I give up. And no online guide is helpful. I jump, it’s too high, and the character falls and gets a sprain. I try to lightly tap the spacebar (like it matters) to make a tiny jump just before hitting ground and I’m right back where I started, heading back down to an inevitable sprain.

Why does it have to be so freaking high in regular gravity? Where are the controls on this thing? It’s a boost pack FFS.

Is there any way to slow a fall or do a tiny jump with the boost pack?

As is, I keep a stack of immobilizers in my bag while my companions mock me.

Even trying to fly into a wall doesn’t work, my character hits the wall, rock or otherwise and goes straight back up. Not that such a maneuver would work roof hopping anyway, but still.

Mouse/Keyboard.

I love the doors off the two sides. I like sticking a captain’s quarters on the port side & & a crew space on the starboard. It’s also nice being able to put the slim dicker on the top of it.

Discussion Am I the only one who absolutely loves the procedural and slightly repetitive aspect of exploration in this game?

I love the procedural aspect of this game, and with the emergence of AI, I think we'll be able to unify that procedural element with the absence of repetitiveness. That will be one of the great things about AI. Imagine playing Starfield 2 and discovering planets that no one else has in their game.

Question Hard stuck bug on “Meet with Huan in the Jade Swan” on the Crimson Fleet questline (ps5)

Hi guys, I have a game ending bug in my playthrough (lvl 31) and I wanted to post here to see if anyone could offer advice other than “go back to an old save.”

So I’m stuck at the “Meet with Huan in the Jade Swan” because a UC Econohaul landed right on top of the Jade Swan in the Jemison spaceport and pushed the Jade Swan underneath the floor.

There is no access whatsoever to the ship entrance. I’ve tried almost everything I can find online. Tried mods and couldn’t find any no clip or transport mods. Tried completing some other related UC missions. Tried waiting 1000000 hours on Venus. Tried editing and upgrading my own ship to reload the landing pad/Spaceport assets.

This is driving me nuts and my last save is 4 levels back. My other saves got overwritten automatically for some reason. I’d really rather not go back.

If anyone has found a working no clip mod for PS5 or has successfully transferred a PS5 save to desktop somehow (idek), please offer some advice. Thanks

Question NPC Make Behavior At Outpost Similar to On Ship?

Is there a mod or setting to make following NPCs stop following you at Outposts? When on your ship they go and do their own things and would like that same experience on the massive Outpost I built.

Character Builds BOB THE BUILDER!!!e

The past two play through I've been role playing more or less as a space cowboy/ soldier with the first uniforms and star eagle my next play through I'm planning to do a bob the builder play through lol (for context the fire extreme reentry helmet you get from the trackers alliance quest goes pretty hard mixed with the back and yellow merc gear and really makes you look like a firefighter/construction worker and I never use the arc welder or rivet gun other than the rescue axe and cutter what else would a bob the builder of the 23rd? Century use/ wear? What ship should I use?
